Our Head Piranha
Piranha Killer Sushi aims to create a world class culinary
concept that puts people first. We strive to hire a premiere
staff committed to cultivating teamwork, opportunity for
growth and excellence in service that is second to none. We
are dedicated to being costumer centric and value our strong
partner relationships in our communities.
Chef Kenzo Tran opened the first Piranha Killer Sushi
restaurant in Arlington, Texas during fall of 2001. PKS now
has a total of six restaurants – as well as an additional
concept restaurant, Pho District located in Fort Worth.
Chef Kenzo moved to Texas at the age of six, but didn’t realize
he wanted to please palates until his teens when he lived with
his grandfather and uncles. Under their direction Kenzo
began to cook and expand on traditional Vietnamese staple
dishes. Tran aspired to find opportunities that allowed room
for experimentation and implementation of new ideas.
Kenzo worked through the restaurant ranks, in kitchens with
demanding chefs and patrons. As a Chef, Tran’s various
experience ranges from Asian eateries where he was
challenged to strive for precision and perfection to French
and Italian cuisine. Chef Kenzo brings all of this experience
and style to his concept restaurants where he encourages a
highly personable and intensely creative dining experience.
Our Killer Concept
One of Piranha Killer Sushi’s key differentiators is the
personal relationships we build with our guests. We believe
that our guests are ultimately our friends and patrons who
deserve to be treated with utmost courtesy.
The PKS Staff all play a role keeping our clients happy, and as
a result Piranha Killer Sushi continues to build an extremely
loyal following.
Our motto is “personalize, don’t commercialize.” We offer
free-style sushi bars where the customers are invited to
challenge our fleet of creative-minded Chefs. Chefs work
with customers to design culinary creations – some of which
have gone on to become signature PKS menu items!
Our world-class menu, innovative management team and
friendly staff make Piranha a preferred choice for sushi
lovers, foodies and anyone looking for a “killer” dining
experience.

Kenzo Tran – Head Chef / Principle
Yes, there is such a thing as a friendly piranha. Even though
our signature piranha logo has big teeth, he sports a smile
and a friendly welcome. Kenzo Tran thinks he’s cute and
looks a little like Pac-Man.
