General functional principle
The FD720 devices register signals, compare and evaluate them on the basis of stored
patterns. If a fire is detected, the data is transferred to the fire control panel, and released fire controls. The processor in this device triggers centralized and decentralized
control functions via input and output modules. It does not matter whether the network
has a ring structure and is therefore failsafe, is Ethernet or a combination of the two. In
case of malfunctions, the degrade function guarantees operation of the system components that are impaired by the malfunction. All signals are automatically displayed on
the operating panel based on their origin, or can be handle using operating functions. In
any event, the messages together with a timestamp are entered in the event memory
so that the locations where fire started can be ascertained subsequently.
System overview FS720
The FS720 fire detection system is the new global generation of Cerberus PRO fire
control panels. It combines the highest safety standards with international product innovations and cutting-edge technology.
The fire control panels, fire terminals and the shared C-WEB network are designed in
accordance with EN 54-2, EN 54-4 and other national supplementary requirements.
They represent the heart of the FS720 fire detection system. The highest levels of detection reliability and optimum adaptability to customers' existing systems are achieved
in conjunction with intelligent FD720 peripheral devices (C-NET).
 FC722 fire control panel
The size of this fire control panel makes it ideal for smaller applications (e.g.
workshops and hotels).
It is possible to connect a total of 2 (4) loops or 4 (8) stub lines with up to
252 addresses.
Its strength lies above all in its compactness that permits quick and efficient
installation.
 FC723 fire control panel
The FC723 is a modular fire control panel with integrated user interface and
processes signals from Cerberus PRO FD720.
A built in card cage with 2 plug-in position enables the application of:
– -C-NET line cards FCL2001-A1 (for additional lines)
– I/O-card FCI2008-A1 (with 12 programmable in-/outputs)
– SynoLOOP line cards
– Interactive and Interactive-Ex line cards
Die FC723 supports up to 756 addresses.

 FC724 fire control panel
The FC724 fire control panel can have 4 (8) loops or 8 (16) stub lines with
up to 504 addresses.
This means they offer sufficient capacity for medium-sized fire detection
installations (e.g. regional banks and office complexes).
 FC726 fire control panel
The FC726 is a modular fire control panel with integrated user interface and
processes signals from Cerberus PRO FD720.
A built in card cage with 5 plug-in position enables the application of:
– C-NET line cards FCL2001-A1 (for additional lines)
– I/O-card FCI2008-A1 (with 12 programmable in-/outputs)
– SynoLOOP line cards
– Interactive and Interactive-Ex line cards
The FC726 supports up to 1512 addresses
 FT724 fire terminal
All fire control panels have an integrated user interface.
However, the FT724 fire terminal is available for remote operating panels.
The view shown on this compact person machine interface can be freely
allocated between fire control panels. Max. 5 fire terminals with system wide
view programmable.
 Floor repeater terminals and floor repeater display
Messages from relatively small monitoring areas (e.g. hospital wards) can
be detected by FT2011 floor repeater displays and operator intervention is
even possible as well using FT2010 floor repeater terminals. These devices
are C-NET participant.

Network for connecting Cerberus PRO FD720 devices
Network for creating a cluster of up to 32 stations
(without connection to a Danger Management System)
Network for connecting multiple clusters via a fiber-optic Industrial Ethernet
(max. 64 stations)
Connection to Siemens Danger Management System

Cluster (C-WEB/SAFEDLINK)
Up to 32 fire control panels und fire control terminals can be connected in a single cluster
(C-WEB/SAFEDLINK) or up to 16 stations when the
cluster is connected to a danger management system. The innovative redundant network nodes not
only set new standards in terms of failsafe characteristics but also for high-speed data transfer. It is
also possible to extend the distance between panels
by the use of a repeater.

Backbone (C-WEB/LAN )
Using a fiber-optic Backbone (C-WEB/LAN) up to
14 of the above mentioned clusters (with up to 16
stations each) can be networked. This topology
enables the construction of an EN 54-compliant
network with up to 64 panels and fire terminals.

Management station
A danger management station can be connected
directly to any network type: standalone panel, cluster (C-WEB/SAFEDLINK) or hierarchical network
(C-WEB/LAN). When such connections should be
made via a customer network, then a Security module shall be used to provide Firewall protection (and
a VPN connection if the management station is not
within the customer network itself).

– Latest generation devices with evaluation algorithms.
– Signal processing with detection algorithms and ASAtechnology™.
– Automatic address allocation during commissioning.
DBS, FDS
– Instead of complicated additional cabling, FD720 technology permits the
operation of sounder bases, alarm sounders and/or alarm sounder beacons on the detector bus, i.e. supply and communication are via the
C-NET.
LaserFocus VLF-250/-500
– The aspiration smoke detector is a very early warning smoke detector (As-
pirating Smoke Detector ASD) designed to protect small, business-critical
environments.
– The detector works by continually drawing air into sample holes in a pipe
network.
– The air is filtered and passed into a detection chamber where light scattering technology detects the presence of very small amounts of smoke.
SWING
– Wireless fire detection system can be fully integrated into the C-NET.
– Wireless transmission replaces complex or visible cable installation and is
therefore particularly interesting for museums, churches etc. The system
also offers the additional advantage that installation is possible without system interruption.
– The wireless gateway FDCW241 communicates with up to 30 wireless
detectors (smoke detectors and manual call points) and up to 16 Radio
gateways with crossover of radio cells.
FDA241, FDA221

The FDA241/221 series of detectors are a very early warning dual
wavelength (blue & infra-red) smoke detectors designed to protect
2
small to medium, business-critical environments up to 800 m with the
2
FDA241 or 500 m with the FDA221).
The detector works by continually drawing air into sampling holes in a
pipe network. The air is passed into a uniquely designed detection
chamber where light scattering technology detects the presence of very
small amounts of smoke.

barrier (SB3) for explosion-hazard areas)
– for monitored controls of alarm devices
FDCL221, FDCL221-M
– Line separators can be connected in between to ensure that several stub
lines will not fail if there is a short circuit.
– The line separator is used where several stubs are connected to the
C-NET at one point if there is no other FD720 device between the branches.
FT2011-A1, FT2010-A1
– Smaller areas of the fire detection system can be operated or displayed
using the FT2010 floor repeater terminals and FT2011 floor repeater displays operated in the C-NET.
– The personnel responsible at the customer's premises (e.g. ward sisters)
have access to a clearly structured user interface for customer-specific
plain texts to enable events to be localized unambiguously.
– The display type corresponds to the FT724 fire terminal.
FT2001-A1
– The mimic display driver operated in the C-NET has 2x24 outputs for LED
activation for mimic display panels.
– 2 control outputs for 'Local buzzer' and 'LED operation'
– 2 inputs for 'Switch-off buzzer' and 'Lamp test'
– Connection to LED via flat cable F50F410 (50-wire, 24 red LEDs, cable
length 1 m
FC10, XC10
– The conventional fire control panel FC10 and the extinguishing control
panel XC10 can integrated as autonomous control panels into the C-NET
(via in-/output module FDCIO).
– Relevant events are transferred to the connected fire control panel.
– Each line can be individually configured to AlgoRex collective or Synova™
conventional. This allows to connection to AlgoRex DS11collective, Synova
conventional detectors as well as special detectors like DF1191, FDF2x1-9
flame, DLO1191, FDL241-9 linear detectors.
