The Car Show, Beach Baby and Beach Toddler Contests start at 11 a.m. At noon the Mr. & Miss Firecracker Contest takes place followed by the Little Miss Indian Lake, Jr. Miss Indian Lake and Miss Indian Lake pageants. As of press time over seventy contestants were signed up. Tickets for the Party at the Beach are now on sale at www.indianlakechamber.org. This year two big bands will be featured. The Parrots of the Caribbean, a Dayton, Ohio band will open the party at 1 p.m. followed by The Danger Brothers from Columbus at 4 p.m. This will be the fifth year the Danger Brothers have performed at the Party at the Beach at Indian Lake. The Parrots of the Caribbean, a Jimmy Buffet Tribute band, have been known for changing their outfits several times during a show. They are a very entertaining band as is the Danger Brothers. The Danger Brothers are known for their OSU music which they played at the Hineygate for years. The Chamber will give the first 500 people to arrive at the beach leis and beads. The beach will be decorated with the Jimmy Buffet theme. This event takes approximately 100 volunteers to man the beer garden and admission area. This year there are four main sponsors: Budweiser with the Landshark beer, DP&L, Shoreline Construction of Indian Lake, and Lee’s Famous Recipe Chicken of Bellefontaine. Travel to the beach by car or boat. The beach and swimming areas are closed to the public that day. Boat parking will be permitted all around the beach. Tickets are $8.00 presale and $10.00 at the gate. Tickets are available at Lucky’s Pizza, The Landing Tavern, La Pizzeria Restaurant, Major’s Beer Dock, Framing by Fuller and the Chamber, or online at www.indianlakechamber.org to pay with a credit/debit card. The Cerebral Palsy Committee of the Indian Lake Elks Lodge #2792 presents the 12th Annual Wacky Boat Races and Parrot Head Party on Saturday, August 7 at the Russells Point Harbor. Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. and race heats start at “high noon.” Entry fee is $15. Cash prizes awarded. The Parrot Head Party is under the Big Tent in the Elks parking Lot. $3 entry donation. THE SOUNDINGS PAGE 3 Indian Lake Area Chamber of Commerce Mission Statement The Party at the Point and extension of Rally at the Peak will be held in Russells Point on Sunday, August 8, 2010 from 12 p.m. – 5 p.m. A car, boat and motorcycle cruise-in begins at noon. Dash plaques will be given to the first fifty motorcycle and car registrations and the first twenty-five boat registrations. A People’s Choice Award will be given to the winners of the Motorcycle, Car and Boat divisions. Sponsoring the contest are: The Landing, Indian Lake Watershed Project, Indian Lake Motors, Heartland of Indian Lake, and RV Wholesalers. Midnight Rider will take the stage at 12:30 p.m. at the Elks Lodge. Boat rides will be available at Russells Point Harbor for $5.00 per person. High Point HarleyDavidson will host the Jean Davidson Yell & Tell charity ride which will end in downtown Russells Point around 12:30 p.m. Jean Davidson, granddaughter of one of the founders of Harley-Davidson will lead the ride. July 23 (4 p.m. - 1 a.m.) & July 24 (1 p.m. - 11 p.m.) Fisher’s Flea Market Food, rides, games, silent auction, cornhole, cake wheel, and grilled chicken dinners (5:00 p.m. until gone both days).
