2. Be cautious about bringing plants
out of dormancy before the last frost.
This may be as late as the end of
March in Texas, Louisiana, and
Florida.
3. Be on the lookout for pests and
disease ALL year. Infestations of spider mites have been found on dormant plants during winter storage in a
garage.
4. The blooming season is dependent
upon many factors. For example:
a. Variety of plant and age.
b. Soil mix.
c. Fertilization schedule.
d. Light intensity.
e. Winter storage methodology
1. This is only a rough guideline.
Many people are able to have flowers
on some plants as early as March.

I have been doing business with Stokes
Tropicals for over 10 years, and have probably
purchased every item they have for offer, even
some they did not have! Their plants are of
the highest quality and their packaging is second to none. All their staff is so helpful and
help/advice is just a phone call away. I am an
avid tropical plant collector, and trust me
when I say, I have spent thousands with MANY
different nurseries, but can honestly say that
NO ONE has come close to Stokes Tropicals,
with product, reliability, or customer service. I
am well known in the plant circles, and I will
put my name forward for this company.

FLOWERING
TROPICALS
BLEND
(7-9-5)
An excellent general purpose
nutrient solution with 6
macronutrients and 10 essential
trace elements that all plants
need. This growth formula will
give your tropicals healthy leaf
and stem growth; also works well
for vegetables, fruits and lawns.
Use as a rapid cure for nutrient
deficiencies! Mixed at dilute concentrations it is quick acting as a
foliar spray. Ideal for poor soils
and container- grown plants. A
great all-year tropical plant formula for those who don’t want
to switch formulas to promote
flowering. Also works well on
African violets, orchids and
houseplants in general.
6070 (8oz) bottle........$8.95
6071 (qt) bottle .......$12.95
TROPICAL
FOLIAGE
BLEND
(9-3-6)
A tropical foliage
formula with the 3-1-2 N/P/K
ratio recommended by the
Apopka Research Center in
Florida for foliage production.
Interiorscapers and exteriorscapers across the country use this
formula to maintain healthy, controlled foliage growth on plants
(and trees). Works great on all
our tropicals. It outperforms all
others in low-light environments.
The 3-1-2 ratio results in greater
mineral uptake by foliage and
flowering plants, reducing harmful salt build up and eliminating
deficiencies. Designed to be foliar
applied for quick results. Will not
burn foliage when properly
applied.
6080 (8oz) bottle........$8.95
6081 (qt) bottle .......$12.95
TROPICAL PROTEKT
(0-0-3)
Supplies higher levels
of potassium and silicon to build
strong cell walls in plants. Stronger cell walls are a protective
barrier to piercing-sucking insects
and invading fungi. Use of Pro-
Tekt reduces disease and insect
problems, increases stem strength
and leaf positioning, improves
photosynthesis, and increases
heat and drought tolerance. Use
as a supplement with all Stokes
Tropicals’ fertilizers to reduce
applications of insecticides and
fungicides and dramatically
increase heat and drought tolerance (for interior and summer
growing). Makes blooms last 2030% longer.

All orders will be shipped FedEx, UPS or USPS, unless you specify
differently. Please give your complete address and if possible give a
work address, as well as, home and work phone numbers. Please make
your check or money order payable to Stokes Tropicals. We accept
MasterCard, Visa, American Express, and Discover/Novus. Louisiana residents (only) should add 4% sales tax.
Your order is important to us, normally orders are shipped 1 to 4
weeks from the date they are received, weather permitting. We may
have to wait to ship your order until night temperatures exceed 40ºF
(4.4ºCelsius). We won’t ship tropical plants into areas where temperatures are in the 30s (below 4.4º Celsius) except at customer’s risk. There
may also be delays in filling orders due to propagation requirements.
Also there may be delays because of availability of certain varieties. In instances where there are anticipated shortages in certain
varieties, the notation “limited quantities available” is in the
guide/catalog. In this instance, first ordered, first served.
Orders for growing plants and rooting plumeria cuttings are usually not available until April, May or June. We offer ginger, canna and
heliconia rhizomes earlier in the season, which can be rooted with reasonable care, by following our detailed cultural directions.
Also, to better serve you sooner and more efficiently please specify alternate plant choices even a third or a fourth choice. This will mean
no delay in telling you that your first choice is not available then waiting for your reply, etc. If you don’t want substitutes under any circumstances, please indicate on your order. We will gladly abide by your
request and ship your specific order as soon as it becomes available.
Please make a copy of your order for your records! If you will accept a
split order, that is, you order 5 plants and 4 are available and 1 is not,
we can ship the 4 available plants to you immediately and send the 1
not available, later. However, it is necessary to charge for the additional
packing and shipping at the same posted rates of $14.95, $12.95, etc.,
based on price of backordered item(s).
Growing plants are shipped bare-root wrapped in sphagnum moss
or paper. All plants and rhizomes are guaranteed to be in excellent condition at the time of shipment.
If plant material arrives damaged or in unsatisfactory condition
for any reason, and if it is reported within 10 days of receipt, it will be
replaced. We may request that damaged material be returned to us.
In case of returns, shipping charges are not refundable. All of our
material is fully guaranteed. Detailed cultural directions are supplied
with each order.
All prices are subject to change without notice. Prices rarely
change but some are beyond our control.
We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover/Novus, and American
Express.
CATALOGS:
Catalogs are mailed out as soon as they are printed. The price of
our catalog is $5.95 to new customers. The $5.95 is fully refundable
with first order. If you change address, after receiving our catalog or
receiving order, please advise us as to the change. Don’t forget next
year’s catalog will contain many new and exciting introductions. Also,
please write us and let us know how you like our guide/catalog, our

TESTIMONIAL
I am an avid collector and grower of
tropical plants. I have been doing business with Stokes Tropicals since 1998,
purchasing thousands of dollars of
plants from them. Needless to say, I
have been extremely pleased with the
service, shipping, and quality of plants.
Additionally, their staff is most helpful
and very knowledgeable. I have an additional advantage in that, since I live so
close to the nursery, I have been able to
visit it on numerous occasions and seen
first hand the quality of the facility and
meet personally those employees I have
so often spoken to on the phone. I
would recommend Stokes to anyone
who has an interest in collecting and
growing tropical plants.
