AUDITORIUM $400 $450 Imagine hosting your special event in architecturally stunning buildings surrounded by world-class works of art! When you rent the internationally renowned Des Moines Art Center, you are not sharing the space as you might in a hotel or a restaurant. You will experience an entirely private event, revolving exclusively around your vision. One of our approved caterers will provide an exceptional culinary experience, experience, we can arrange private tours of the three buildings that house the THE RESTAURANT OVERLOOKS AND OPENS ONTO THE COURTYARD AND MAYTAG REFLECTING POOL. Spaces available for rent* THE LOBBY CAN BE USED FOR DINNERS, COCKTAILS PARTIES, AND DANCING. Member* Non-Member MAIN LOBBY The 2,000 square foot lobby, designed by Eliel Saarinen with travertine floors and oak paneled walls, is adjacent to the galleries. Directly across from the entry, a door in the tall glass wall provides access to a courtyard and reflecting pool. All rental fees include security, maintenance, set-up, and dismantle. These fees do not include food and beverage or any outside rental needs, such as tables, chairs, and linens. Fees are subject to change. *Contributor members or above ($110 annually) ■ THE LOBBY CONNECTS TO THE COURTYARD AND MAYTAG REFLECTING POOL EXTENDING YOUR EVENT OUTDOORS. PHOTO: MINDY MYERS PHOTOGRAPHY This area is suitable for a sit down dinner for up to 125 persons or a cocktail reception for up to 200 persons. ■ ART CENTER RESTAURANT The 950 square foot restaurant has a curved glass wall looking out onto the courtyard and Maytag Reflecting Pool. This space is ideal for dinner meetings, rehearsal dinners, birthday dinners, or other intimate events. ■ This area is suitable for a sit down dinner for up to 50 persons or a cocktail reception for up to 75 persons. ■ COURTYARD AND MAYTAG REFLECTING POOL This area must be used in tandem with the lobby or restaurant, and is perfect for cocktails before dinner and dancing under the stars, weather permitting. ■ This outdoor area with lit trees, granite reflecting pool, and outdoor sculptures by Carl Milles and Scott Burton is surrounded by the architecture of Eliel Saarinen, I. M. Pei, and Richard Meier. ■ LEVITT AUDITORIUM The 220 seat auditorium is well suited for symposia, lectures, performances, film or video previews, etc. ■ ■ Audio visual technicians of the Art Center’s choosing must be hired at the renter’s expense. *All spaces are smoke free.
