TI At the time of Queensla nd Treasury Corporation's (QTC) analysis, it was found a new Mareeba Shire Council (MSC} would be al located $25,307,000 if it were to de-amal gamate from th e TRC. (Table 12- Summa ry Ba lance Sheet Allocation, page 18 De-amalgamation Analysis of Tablelands Regional Counci l) 1 RTI Document No. 58 - RTIP1314-006 CR R \ This number doesn't take into account the time elapsed between QTC's ana lysi s and th e possible est ablishment of a new MSC and is subject to change. If residents vote in favo ur of Mareeba's de-amalgamation, I will appoint an interim CEO who will be totally independent and have no affiliation with either the TRC or Mareeba . It will be the CEO's responsibility to oversee the transition process and put in place everything needed for a new MSC to begin operations on January 1, 2014. -O LG As to your second question, the structure of a new MSC has not been decided and will be determined during the transition process if residents vote in favour of de-amalgamation. I want people to focus on the costs versus the benefits rather than the personalities or the mechanics of de-amalgamation when they go to vote on March 9.
