Finding my passion for computer graphics in 1984, I have remained at the forefront of digital design ever since. In my career I have worked with a head-turning array of clients on many project types across several industries. I have held positions ranging from CEO to Art Director, to Adjunct Professor and Creative Director and have co-developed ad campaigns, and marketing strategies with the CMOs of Fortune 500 companies, authors and celebrities. CAREER EDUCATION I have served in technology think-tanks and beta-tested graphics software. I have co-founded three companies that developed graphics technologies, from enterprise level digital asset management and marketing systems to telepresence. SKILLS BIOGRAPHY And I haved hired, trained and directed teams as large as dozens of people. INTERESTS At some point, I have designed and/or produced virtually every type of digital ABOUT ME and physical media you can imagine, and have been instrumental in the creation and roll-out of products and brands you probably know or see every day. After having explored all these niches, my favorite by far is the 3D environment. REFERENCES PORTFOLIO My goal now is to specialize in 3D, pushing the software and stunning clients. My middle name, Frank, was given in respect to my other great-grandfather, Frank Adler, an artist who painted cathedrals in fresco, and is accredited with designing the original calligraphic Pepsi-Cola logo. My parents and aunt are also accomplished artists, the latter having owned a small ad agency in New York, and later another in Scottsdale, Arizona. An only child, I learned the traditional tools of the trade; my talent was focally nurtured. By age eight, I was performing simple graphics tasks such as cutting ruby lith, inking typography, waxing galleys, blue-lining rules or whatever kept a child at the office busy. In school I excelled in artistic endeavors. I became the first editorial cartoonist for my school paper, set designer for the thespian troupe, and won a few local art shows. I set my mind on architecture, and was offered scholarships to ASU, Tulane, Carnegie-Mellon, and Pratt Institute. I chose Arizona State University and studied architecture for two terms, after which time I returned to graphics, favoring visual design over engineering. With my change in major came a change in schools. I picked up courses at community colleges in Phoenix and then moved to Flagstaff where I completed my core studies at NAU, working the whole time as a freelance designer for various small agencies to gain as much varied experience as possible. I was married in 1985 to my wife Kimberly, also an artist and a fashion designer. My son Nathan was born in 1986, and my daughter Amanda was born in 1989. I worked at a successful design group, until tiring of Phoenix. In 1990, I moved my family to Portland, Oregon for the hometown friendliness and creative atmosphere it represented at the time. I worked as Art Director for a couple of companies until I had enough network and footing to strike out on my own with MediaMania. We received accolades and I worked on many high-visibility projects while at the same time I was teaching design courses at PSU and stayed actively involved in the design community. With a hearty entrepreneurial spirit, I was at times principal in the formation and operation of multiple companies at once, including EyeVelocity, growing quickly to an IPO that was ill-timed for the same month that the dot-com bubble burst, and AdSwift, where I built mailing campaigns with the CMOs of major corporations and brands. Pioneers of the Possible Pitney Bowes Plus Vision Corp More recent referrals have lead me into the personal development and health industry, where I have operated an interview show and developed self-help media programs with dozens of life coaches and new thought leaders.
