HaNNaH`S Prayer - McLean Bible Church
So What?
Kid’s
Quest:
Bringing church and family together for
a child’s spiritual growth.
Hannah’s Prayer
Parent Note
Did you know that the toddler staff and volunteers meet in a huddle before every service to pray for your child? Just
like Hannah loved the Lord and spoke to Him every day, we do the same in Kid’s Quest. Every weekend we gather to
discuss ways to make sure your child has a transformational day in class. This might include explaining to the leaders
how to use the craft or coloring sheet as a tool to start discussions with the children about God. Or, how to use our Play
to Learn activity to help relate the story in a more tangible way to your child.
We would greatly appreciate if you would pray for the following:
•
For your child’s leader to grow in their knowledge of the Lord.
•
Strength for the staff to be servant leaders to the volunteers.
•
That many children would learn who God is, know that He loves them,
and choose to follow Him the rest of their lives.
Thank you for your support,

Hannah’s Prayer
1 Samuel 1: 2:18-19
God’s Word tells us about a woman named Hannah. Hannah loved and followed
God. She and her husband wanted to have children, but they didn’t have any. This made
Hannah very sad. Hannah’s husband tried to make her feel better, but she was still very sad. She went to the
Tabernacle, the place where they worshipped God, to ask God for help. Hannah knew God wanted her to tell
Him about her problem. She prayed, “Please Lord, if You will give me a baby boy, I promise to teach him about
You. He will be a helper for You as long as he lives.” Eli, the priest in the Tabernacle, said, “I will pray God gives
you what you ask.” God answered Hannah’s prayer and soon a little boy was born to Hannah and her husband.
They named him Samuel. Hannah taught him about God; how talking to God shows Him we love Him. When
Samuel was a little boy, Hannah and her husband took him to the Tabernacle, to Eli the priest. They told Eli
how God had answered her prayers. Hannah said, “From now on Samuel will stay with you. He will serve God
for the rest of his life”. Samuel stayed with Eli and he learned how to be God’s helper.
