Atlantic City Library To Go gives community a library experience outside of our two locations
The Atlantic City Free
Public Library is open
seven days a week in an
attempt to make our services as accessible to the
entire community as possible.
However, even if you
can’t make it to the Main
Library or Richmond Branch
Library, you can still enjoy
many of the same features
that are offered at those two
locations. The ACFPL has
created an extension of its
services called Atlantic City
Library To Go, where we are
“bringing your library to
you.”

THE ATLANTIC CITY
FREE PUBLIC LIBRARY
WILL BE CLOSED
MAY 25 FOR
MEMORIAL DAY
The Atlantic City Free
Public Library will continue
its long-standing tradition of
offering Summer Reading
Programs for youths and
teens — and it will start a
new one by debuting an
Adult Summer Book Club.
The Summer Reading
Program launch party is
scheduled for 2 p.m.
Wednesday, June 30, in the
Main Library meeting room.
Children and teens (ages 13
to 17) are invited to this
party, which will include
stories, games, refreshments
and special guests.
Youths who sign up for
the Summer Reading Program at the party will get to
take home a free book.
The children’s Summer
Reading Program theme is
“Be Creative” and it’s
“Express Yourself” for teens.
And, due largely to the
interest generated by our
reading program for youths,
the library will hold its First
Adult Summer Book Club.
The library will hold a
special kickoff party beginning at 12 p.m. Monday,
June 15, in the Main Library
meeting room. Discuss some
of the different titles you
would like to see included on
the book list, meet others
who love to read and discuss
books and enjoy some light
refreshments and music.
The group will meet
again at 12 p.m. Monday,
July 13 in the meeting room
to discuss the books they
have read.
The final Adult Book
Club meeting will be 12 p.m.
Monday, Aug. 27. Club
members will share their
thoughts on the books they
have read and what they
thought of the book club.
There will also be a
prize drawing at the final
meeting. To be eligible,
members must attend all
three meetings and meet certain reading criteria set by
the club leader.
For more information,
please call (609) 345-2269.

who can’t make it here. By
having a presence in various

from our services.”
One of the main features
of Atlantic City Library To

drop-off sites, where we provide a mini-display of books
and information, at various
buildings around town. The
library has drop-off sites at
two senior residences – New
York Avenue Apartments

plans to expand that number
in the future.

You can make informed decisions using
Consumer Reports and other resources
It is more important than ever to make wise, financial decisions given the state of the economy. To do so,
you will want to have
as much information
as possible at your
disposal so you can
make choices that
will help you maximize your dollars.
The Atlantic City
Free Public Library
offers some great resources if you want to
do research before
spending your money
— and one of those
resources is Consumer Reports.
Consumer Reports contains a wealth of useful information. From current product evaluations to package
and labeling scams, the magazine provides everything
needed to make intelligent purchasing choices. Find out
if that used car is a “lemon.” Is the expensive vacuum
cleaner really better than the cheaper one? Which laundry detergent cleans best? Is one brand of olive oil better
than the other? These and similar queries are easily answered by reading Consumer Reports.
Pick up a copy of the magazine or read it online the
next time you visit the library; or, read a copy of it
online from home as long as you have an Atlantic City
Free Public Library Card. Go to our webpage at
www.acfpl.org and click on Do Research, My Online
Research Library. Choose Magazines and Journals for
Consumer Reports.
