2 Days of Buffalo – 2015 Details
Overview
Two days of Buffalo is a two day, 3 stage omnium style event. The stages will be as follows:
 Stage 1 – Saturday August 1st 2015 - McKinley Time Trial
 Stage 2 – Saturday August 1st 2015 – South Park Circuit Race
 Stage 3 – Sunday August 2nd 2015 – Canalside Criterium
Because of the omnium format racers who choose not to participate in the omnium can still participate
in any of the stages and race more than one race if desired. Riders who do so will not be eligible for
omnium placing – only stage placing. Also Racers who are participating in the omnium can race extra
non-omnium races.


Example 1: A racer could participate in only the Cat 4 Circuit Race and nothing else if they chose.
Example 2: A racer participating in the omnium as a Cat 3 can also race the Master’s Circuit Race
– or Master’s Criterium – or both extra races.

Master’s 45+
Men’s 3/4 – Redemption Criterium – Bragging Rights only - Last categorized race of the day on Sunday
Promoter reserves the right to cancel or combine fields with < 8 registrants.
Omnium Scoring:
This event will use the “international omnium” method of scoring. The winner of a stage will receive 1
point, 2nd place receives 2 points, 23rd place would receive 23 points etc. The racer, who accumulates
the fewest points from all 3 stages, will be declared the overall omnium winner. Racers must complete
all 3 events in order to be in the running for overall. Any tie in overall points will be split by the riders’
placement in the time trial. The table below gives an example of the points breakdown:

Stage Descriptions
Stage 1 - Saturday August 1st 2015 – McKinley Time Trial – ROAD BIKES ONLY
Mass start road race bicycles per USAC rules. No tri bars or handlebar extensions.
Course Description
The course for stage 1 is in the city’s ‘South Buffalo’ neighborhood. The start is located on Reading
Avenue near South Park Avenue, the course turns down Hopkins and runs south into South park, where
it winds all the way around the park before turning around and heading all the way back to the start.
This 4.6 mile course will be fast and very intense, setting the stage for the next two stages.

Stage 2 – Saturday August 1st 2015 – South Park Circuit Race
Course Description
The course for stage 2 is located in Buffalo’s Olmstead Park – South Park - directly next to stage 1. The
Start/Finish is located at the top of the small rise in terrain. Laps are 1.44 mi in length and should prove
to be fast and fun.

10:00am – Master’s Men 45+ – 21 laps (~30mi)
10:01am - Women’s Category 1/2/3 – 21 laps (~30mi)
Wave 2:
11:30am - Men’s Category P/1/2/3 - 35 laps (~50mi)
Wave 3:
2:10pm - Men’s Category 4 – 18 laps (~26mi)
Wave 4:
3:00pm - Men’s Category 5 – 12 laps (~17mi)
3:01pm - Women’s Category 4 – 12 laps (~17mi)

Stage 3 – Sunday August 2nd 2015 – Canalside Criterium
Course Description:
Stage 3 of this omnium race is on a 1 mile lap Criterium course in Buffalo’s new Canalside district. It is
flat and fast, but is technical with multiple turns making this one of the area’s best criterium courses.

Single Circuit or Criterium = $35
Omnium Registrants can do another Circuit Race or Criterium for only $20
