Members applaud MAC’s BAH performance
Nearly 200 Chamber members and guests gathered to celebrate the arts —
and the art of networking — on Dec. 8 at a Business After Hours at the
Peggy R. McConnell Arts Center
(MAC). The event was co-sponsored
by Worthington Industries.
Attendees enjoyed hors d’oeuvres
from Catering by Design and
toured the contemporary, 20,000square-foot facility for the
performing, visual and digital arts.
Visitors explored the 213-seat
theatre, exhibition gallery, five
classrooms, dance studio and
exhibits. During announcements in
the theatre, the Chamber
introduced community fundraiser Sonya Higginbotham and Cathy Lyttle of
Nancy Goorey and representatives Worthington Industries, BAH co-hosts
of the Convention & Visitors Bureau
and Holiday Inn, who are sponsoring a program to benefit the MAC when
businesses group events at Holiday Inn. MAC executive director Jon Cook
invited guests to a wide variety of upcoming events and encouraged their
support as contributors. Cathy Lyttle reviewed the history of support from
the late John H. “Mr. Mac”
McConnell, the
Worthington Industries
founder whose memorial
donation to his wife
helped create the center.
