HILTON, FIU ROD OWENS, FSU Highlight: A second-team All-American, Tebow won the Campbell Trophy, which is given annually to the nation’s top scholar-athlete. Brief: Tebow led the Gators on a school-record 23-game winning streak, which ended with a 32-13 loss to Alabama in the Southeastern Conference title game. He led the Gators in rushing for the third consecutive season, and accounted for five touchdowns in his final home game, a 37-10 win against FSU. Highlight: A first-team All-Sun Belt Conference selection, Morris was ranked 15th in the nation in rushing yards this season. Brief: A powerful runner from Pensacola, Morris emerged as the state’s top running back. He carried the Owls’ offense throughout the season, and he rushed for 181 yards and two touchdowns in a 51-29 victory at Louisiana-Lafayette. Against rival FIU, Morris rushed for 158 yards, with two rushing scores and one receiving. Highlight: A first-team All-Sun Belt Conference selection, Hilton ranked 13th in the nation in kickoff returns. Brief: Hilton accomplished this season what few other players managed: He quieted Alabama’s Bryant-Denny Stadium. Hilton, from Miami Springs, had a 96-yard return for a touchdown against the Crimson Tide. He had nine receptions for 80 yards and two touchdowns against Rutgers. Highlight: Owens’ 98-yard touchdown reception against North Carolina sparked FSU’s come-from-behind 30-27 victory. Brief: Owens wasn’t the Seminoles’ flashiest receiver – All-Florida second-teamer Bert Reed was – but this Jacksonville native was FSU’s go-to man in crunch time. Thirty-nine percent of Owens’ receptions were third-down conversions. He had 199 receiving yards and a touchdown against North Carolina. FIRST-TEAM OFFENSE LEONARD HANKERSON, UM Highlight: In UM’s final home game this season, Hankerson had eight receptions for 143 yards and a touchdown against Duke. Brief: Hankerson’s breakout season came after a tireless offseason of hard work, which included individual coaching from Dolphins great Mark Duper. A product of Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas, Hankerson had the most receptions for a Miami receiver since 2002 (Andre Johnson, 52). Brief: A tight end led the Gators in receptions? That’s correct. Hernandez was that good this season. Hernandez, a TE Bristol, Conn., native, had two touchdown receptions against Florida State. Brief: Fox was a consummate leader for an offense that piled up more than 4,500 yards in 12 games. Selected to the All-ACC first-team, Fox, a Fort Worth, Texas, native, started 11 games and allowed only one sack, according to UM. Fox has started 47 games, the third-most in Hurricanes history. K Caleb Sturgis Florida Somphomore 5-10 190 ATH Jacory Harris Miami Sophomore 6-4 190 Highlight: Datko had a season-high 88 percent blocking grade in a 30-27 victory against North Carolina, and he helped to shut down Tar Heels defensive end Robert Quinn. Brief: A product of Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas, Datko showcased his versatility by moving from left guard to left tackle during the preseason. He was outstanding during the second half of the season. Datko did not allow a sack in conference play, according to FSU. SECOND-TEAM OFFENSE LT GS BLK GRADE 11 96% KNCKDWN 20 Highlight: A second-team All-American, Hudson had 10 knockdowns in a 38-34 loss to Miami. Brief: A three-time selection to the All-Florida team, Hudson is one of the best offensive linemen in the country. Winner of the Atlantic Coast Conference’s Jacobs Blocking Trophy, Hudson’s blocking grades against Georgia Tech and Clemson (97 percent) were the highest awarded by FSU offensive line coach Rick Trickett in his 30 years of coaching. GS BLK GRADE 10 88% KNCKDWN 29 Highlight: Pulley rushed for 231 yards and two touchdowns and passed for 174 yards and another score in a 31-28 overtime victory against Morgan State. Brief: Pulley, a native of Hopkinsville, Ky., ranked third in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference in passing and rushing. Pulley, the MEAC Offensive Player of the Year, was a finalist for the Walter Payton Award. Brief: Pouncey is a three-year starter on UF’s offensive line, and a two-year starter at center. He was named the Southeastern Conference’s offensive lineman of the week after earning a blocking grade of 93 percent in a 23-13 victory against Tennessee. He had a blocking grade of 99 percent in a s 13-3 victory against LSU. Highlight: A second-team All-American, Pouncey had three knockdown blocks, with a blocking grade of 96 percent, in the Gators’ 37-10 victory against Florida State. Brief: Pouncey was a All-Southeastern Conference first-team selection. Pouncey, who played at Lakeland, has played in just two losing games during five seasons of high school and college in which he was a full-time starter. Highlight: An All-Atlantic Coast Conference first-team selection, Bosher has made 12 consecutive field goals, tied for the second-longest streak in UM history. Brief: Bosher, a native of Jupiter, has made 88 consecutive extra-point attempts, the third-longest streak in UM history. Bosher was equally as effective as a punter. Ten of his punts went for 50 yards or more this season, and 22 landed inside opponents’ 20-yard line.
