There is no software to download, and there are no digital rights management (DRM) restrictions. You are entitled to 5 downloads per week. Installing Freegal app Step 1: Download Freegal App Open App Store and search for Freegal app. Tap Install, then Open. Step 2: Logging in In the Freegal home screen, search for Plainfield. Type in your PPLD library card number. W hen prompted, read and agree to the Terms and Conditions to continue. Step 3: Finding music You can browse lists of National/Library Top Ten songs, categories (Browse button at the bottom of screen), or search for a particular song. You can download up to three songs a week. Search Songs are displayed in a list - to download a song, tap the arrow on the right. Songs are then added to your My Music file. Menu Bar Note: Only in-app downloads will be displayed in your My Music folders. You can download in-app purchases to your computer through the Freegal website. Page | 2 Downloading music from Freegal to iTunes Step 1: Logging in to Freegal account Go to plainfieldpubliclibrary.freegalmusic.com. In the top right, click the Login link and use your PPLD library card number to sign in. You can Search for songs and artists, or browse one of the Categories. Wishlist songs and recent downloads can be accessed here. Step 2: Downloading a song You can hear a sample by choosing the play button to the left. To download, choose the Menu button and click Download Now. You can also add to the song to your Wishlist. Step 3: Adding downloaded song to your iTunes Music Library Open iTunes and go to File menu. Click on Add (File) to Library. Click the Downloads folder and choose the songs to add. Click Open. Once added, you will be able to sync this song to your device through iTunes. Step 3: Adding downloaded song to Windows Media Player Music Library Open My Computer, then open Downloads folder. Drag new music file from Downloads folder to WMP library. Drop folder w hen Add to Library message appears. You can then transfer songs to your device in WMP by dragging the song to the device icon on the left, then choosing sync. Page | 4 PinDigital PinDigital is an eBook program that allows you to choose from a number of popular fiction and nonfiction titles. You can check out up to 5 books at a time, and check outs last for up to 3 weeks. Part 1: Installing OverDrive Media Console software Step 1: Install Overdrive Media Console Go to www.pindigital.org and scroll to the bottom to click on Applications. Choose OverDrive Media Console icon. Choose to dow nload Windows or Mac version, and follow prompts to download software. Step 2: Software adjustments - Apple devices If you have an Apple device, you must first make an adjustment in iTunes before transferring. Plug in your device, then open iTunes. Select device in left column. Choose the Manually Manage Music option. Page | 5 Part 2: Finding and checking out eAudiobooks in PinDigital Step 1: Sign in Go to http://www.pindigital.org on your computer and sign in (top right) with your PPLD library card number. Step 2: Finding an eAudiobook You can find books using the Search Box, or by browsing through one of the Categories. Tip: available audiobooks will show a darkened headphones Icon in the top right corner, and unavailable audiobooks only a shaded icon. Step 3: Check out an Audiobook When you have chosen your title, click the Borrow button. Choose the format, then click Confirm & Download Tip: I f possible, dow nload the MP3 version - these files are accessible across all devices. Only computers with a Windows platform will be able to access WMA files. Page | 6 Step 4: Open file in OverDrive When completed, Open the downloaded file to begin (you may see file appear in the bottom left corner, or in downloads folder). Choose OK to confirm download location, and choose OK to start dow nload. Step 5: Transfer to Device Once your book has downloaded, connect your Device to your computer. Select your book, then click Transfer. Choose OK to confirm dow nload location. W hen prompted, choose your device from the Player menu, then choose OK. Choose Finish when the book has transferred. Step 6: Returning/ Deleting eAudiobook Select Delete, then confirm Return/ Delete. Y ou can then delete the files from your device with iTunes or Windows Media Player. Page | 7
