Café Brauer
Imagine gorgeous indoor and outdoor space all in one venue! Café Brauer is one of
Chicago’s most highly prized rental venues for good reason. This timeless Prairie Schoolstyle landmark, completed in 1908 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places,
offers both earth-toned elegance and unparalleled location. Its second-floor Great Hall is
the centerpiece, with its soaring, skylit roof, Tiffany-inspired glass chandeliers, stained-glass
windows, tile mosaics and flanking, curved oudoor loggias providing spectacular views of
the surrounding park and city skyline. A newly landscaped circular drive greets guests on
Stockton Drive, but the horticultural pièce de résistance lies immediately to the east and

Farm-in-the-Zoo
Transport your guests to a Midwestern family farm experience in the middle of Chicago! The
Farm-in-the-Zoo makes a charming choice for rustic dinners and receptions (especially of the
“farm-to-table” variety). Situated along another idyllic marvel—Nature Boardwalk at Lincoln
Park Zoo’s prairie pond ecosystem—the farm buildings, including a classic Main Barn, ranchstyle Farmhouse and Dairy Barn, surround the seasonal crops of the Edible Garden. Unlike the
rest of the zoo’s animal exhibits, those here are fully interactive. Guests can feed cows, pet
goats and see chickens, pigs, rabbits and ponies up-close!

Kovler Lion House &
AT&T Endangered Species Carousel
Imagine lions roaring during your event! African lion Sahar is the unquestioned monarch
of this landmark animal house. But you’ll feel like King of the Feasts within its vaulted
grand interior as rare, beautiful big cats roam indoor exhibits on both sides of your
gathering. The Kovler Lion House, designed by famed Prairie School architect Dwight
Perkins, celebrated its 100th birthday in 2012. While the animal exhibits have been
modernized to meet the needs of rare feline species, vintage design flourishes like the
Guastavino-tile ceiling and exterior brick-mosaic lions take you back in time to an era of
stately grandeur.
As a fun option that guests of any age will love, add the AT&T Endangered Species
Carousel and its adjacent terrace for your cocktail reception! The carousel, located just to
the east of the Kovler Lion House, features 48 artisan-crafted wooden animals and two
chariots and can accommodate up to 50 riders.

Matthew Laflin Memorial Building
This grand neo-classical building was built in 1893 to house the former Chicago Academy
of Sciences—the city’s first museum, founded in 1857. That institution’s first home was
consumed by the Great Chicago Fire in 1871. Laflin, the subsequent building’s namesake, was a
gunpowder tycoon and philanthropist whose donation spurred Chicago’s tradition of locating
museums in lakefront parks. Make some history of your own by ushering guests past its
Corinthian temple front into the shimmering marble lobby or stately Ann Milligan Gray Room
for a museum-quality meeting or daytime event.

downtown skyline rising in the distance. Offer your guests a singular opportunity to

bur oak-shaded South Lawn and bordered by swan, primate and flamingo exhibits. Sunny
dispositions are certain to prevail alongside the terrace’s “Sunform” sculpture, a modern
interpretation of a classical sundial.
The gently sloping South Lawn, flanked by our flamingo flock and lush gardens, is the
ideal addition to a Terrace rental. It’s perfect for cocktail receptions, farmers market dinners, weddings and outdoor movie screenings.

Regenstein Macaque Forest
Lincoln Park Zoo’s newest exhibit will be a state-of-the-art home for Japanese macaques, or
“snow monkeys.” These lively primates will thrill guests with rich social displays among hot
springs and evergreen trees. Japanese macaques call, chase, play and groom one another to
maintain deep social bonds. These fabled snow monkeys are active in every season including
winter by exploring crisp snowdrifts. A central hot spring will offer the snow monkeys a
visually stunning winter warm-up similar to the ones the species share in the wild.
Our 800 square foot event space is right in the middle of it all, immersing guests in the forest
scene before them. It includes a projector, retractable screen, chairs and rectangular tables.
