INTERCAMP Information Package
Dear Scouts and Guides,
It is my pleasure to welcome you in Belgium for another intense three days on
Intercamp 2011.
Intercamp will take place on the clay grounds of Boom were you will meet again
with those you learned to know over the last years and were you will meet new
friends. During these days you will live together with more than 2.000 scouts from
all over Europe.
I invite you to participate on the traditional Flemish games, on the one big
campfire and we will introduce you in the world of bricks. They molded the
economical, political and social history of the region during the last centuries and
you will discover that there is more to a brick, than a brick.
I invite you to open your minds and to discover the wealth of new ideas, different
traditions, different uniforms, and to make you grow in your ambition to leave the
world a little bit better then how you found him. Seen the actual evolution in the
destruction of our environment, world hunger, social injustice there is no doubt
that our world can use it.
I wish to thank all those in and outside the organization for their invested effort
and for their tremendous support.

“Played the games” activities
We're going to make a great Intercamp and thus there is still an extra to earn... 
Join the hike and get your ticket stamped at the post… so you have already
completed a part of your job!
Furthermore, there are forty smaller activities on the program area. If you run a
minimum of 15 of them you get your ticket stamped also... Remember also the
Expo tent and the archery!
If you have the stamp of the hike and those of the onsite activities, then you get
your "Played the game" award.
It can be picked up at the Expo tent at the stage of the Scouts and Guides Museum
Leuven, on Sunday by showing your stamped sheet.
Also remember to take a quick visit to the speleobox (on Saturday!) (= no stamp
activity).
Hike
Scouts,
We invite you to join us for a defiant hike.
It will take place in the region of the campsite and
will give you an idea of the history of the region.
Naturally the “eco theme” will be present and we
will show you how to re-use some things on a
pleasant way
In short you will have a pleasant and instructive hike.
Some practical tips:
Think about the weather. It may be raining, but it may be warm and sunny as well.
Don’t forget to wear good walking shoes.
When you want to complete the hike totally you need following things:
Canteen, lunch, pen and paper, bag (to put your papers in) compass and a towel
We wish you a lot of success !!!

Flemish games
On your sub camp you will get a coloured stamp card. This colour is important to
let you know, where you have to start the games. On the program area, you will
see games, divided in blocks of a particular colour. Your starting point is the colour
of your card! Look for a game that looks funny, and start… Now you can play
games, as much as you can (think about that you have to play at least 15 games!)
Enjoy!
Plaza
Also the “plaza” is the place to be. In this area you will find some nice and funny
activities… like pyro-gravure, mini pioneering, “puddebak”, friendship bands, etc…
As usual, you also will find here the “Haagse Museum”, the “Intercamp Museum”
and some shops. As a newcomer the “Scout and Guide Museum” from Leuven
(Belgium) will participate as well.
On the bottom of your stamp form you will find tickets for logo-printing and leather
burning. One ticket per person. If you like more you’ll have to pay 1€ for each
print.
Scouts Own (Saturday)
We would like to invite everyone to the annual “Scouts - Own”.
It will be a celebration with songs from the choir “Ninoofse Scouts” and a time to
sit together to think about the reflection of Pentecost (Whitsun).

Campfire (Saturday)
The Scouts-Own will be followed by a big campfire, equipped with a “surprise act”
The place to be!
Evening cooking street – Pot luck (Sunday)
We will build a great “buffet” where everyone cooperates within his sub camp.
Each troop offers a typical dish (either a main dish or a dessert) for the joint
dinner. Everyone can taste of everyone’s specialty!
Then follows a sub campfire where we expect to see a number of sketches and/or
some songs... from the troops.
The Camp patch
As every year, there will be a camp badge for all participants. However this year
we came up with something special!
Post cards and Post stamps
In the “Post Office” you can buy post cards and post stamps with the logo of the
camp.
You can send a card to your own family, or to a distant friend!
