Qualified individuals with disabilities seeking

Classes operate on a Trimester System.
Hours of operation are 6:30-9:30 p.m. Unless
otherwise noted in Brochure
Monday through Thursday. All classes run for
8 weeks unless otherwise stated.
Registration is open to all, regardless of where
they reside.
Individuals may register for as many classes
as they desire.
Tuition will be returned if:
It is impossible to conduct a course or the
student decides to drop out of a planned
course before it begins.

Senior Citizens (60 or over) will receive a
$10.00 discount for all 8 week classes and
a $5.00 discount for 4 week and seminar
classes.
A school calendar that indicates holidays and
vacation periods will be distributed at the
beginning of each session.
Students must be 18 or older. Any exceptions
to this rule, must be approved by the Director.
All students will be informed of the fire drill
procedures.
GENERAL INFORMATION
District price is for the residents of Dartmouth,
Fairhaven & New Bedford.
There is absolutely NO SMOKING anywhere on
campus.
Parking is allowed in the main parking lots or
designated shop areas. Automobiles which are
illegally parked will be tagged and brought to the
attention of the police.
Generally, whenever Greater New Bedford
Regional Vocational Technical High School day
school has been cancelled for inclement weather,
evening school classes will be cancelled. Please
call our snow cancellation line, 508-998-3321
ext. 444 or listen to radio stations WBSM, WNBH,
or WSAR for information. Make-up classes will be
scheduled at the discretion of the Director of Adult
Education.
At the conclusion of the Adult Education Program,
students will be given a certificate in their
respective programs if they have attended 75% of
the required class.
It is a school policy that no one is allowed into the
building or any of the classrooms at any time
unless you are an evening student.
C.E.U.’s and P.D.P.’s are available upon request
for some courses.
Only 1 discount allowed per person.

Industrial/Municipal Wastewater Training
This twelve week survey course will introduce the
student to the physical and chemical processes associated
with water quality, pollution, and treatment of liquid
wastes, as they pertain to Municipal and Industrial
Operations. The student will be exposed to the function
of related equipment and support systems and the
environmental responsibilities required to safely and
properly operate, maintain and manage a Wastewater
Treatment Facility. Topics covered include wastewater
flow, wastewater characteristics, collections systems,
regulations, mathematics, laboratory and various

This course is an intense and comprehensive study course, designed to assist candidates in preparation for the
Massachusetts State Plumbing and Gas Fitting Journeyman and Master Plumbers Exam. The program curriculum is a compilation and series of extensive and challenging questions and answers that provides an overview
of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Fuel Gas and Plumbing Code. Topics include in the series, formulas

ELECTRICAL JOURNEYMAN/MASTER LICENSE PREPARATION
If you are an apprentice and want to become licensed as a Journeyman Electrician, then this is the course for you.
An apprentice is defined as one who is working and studying under the direct supervision of an appropriate licensed
individual. The MINIMUM qualifications are as follows: An apprentice must be supervised for 8,000 hours and such
supervision must be for a period of not less than 4 years. As well as 4 years of employment, and 8,000 hours as an
“apprentice” under the direct supervision of a licensed journeyman, you will need to SUCCESSFULLY complete 600
total hours (75 hours per module - 8 modules required) of this program.

This course will introduce woodworking basics; specific
skills in measurement, layout, and the proper use of hand
tools. Students will be required to make a few small
projects with step-by-step procedures and instruction. The
basics are vital knowledge needed to better understand
more advanced woodworking techniques. Safety is
stressed throughout.
The use of power equipment and its safety makes up this

If you have some experience in woodworking and would
like to take the next step in creating a turn of the century
piece, take the challenge. This course includes complete
step by step instruction in creating a one of a kind piece
such as a Queen Anne step stool and true hand cut dovetail
blanket chest, using typical hand tools and modern

Residential Housing Technology
Furniture Refinishing Fundamentals
This course is designed for the future or present
homeowners that are contemplating building, renovating, or
repairing their own homes along with general home
maintenance. Classes will cover building terminology,
replacement windows, code requirements, and drawing
techniques to obtain a building permit. Shop instruction
will include use of hand and power tools, rafter and stair
layout using a framing square.
If you have a piece of furniture that needs a face lift, this is
the course to take. The first class will be an orientation to
evaluate piece, and an overview of different types of
finishes and solvents. Students are responsible for all
materials, solvents, and finishes needed. Reconstruction
is held to a minimum.

Basic Machine Shop Training
Introduction to CNC
This course is a self-paced learning environment in which a
student can complete one or more projects in any one session.
Total progress per session will undoubtedly depend upon prior
experience and/or individual’s ability to perform the
operations as instructed.
This is a Basic CNC course. Students will learn the
codes of CNC language, basic programming and to
program parts using a HAAS simulator. Once parts
have been programmed students will learn basic setups and run a part in the HAAS machine.
Related Subjects—Measure and measurements, shop sketches
and blueprint reading, review related math, shop problems and
safety.
Prerequisite: Basic Machine Technology 1 & 2 or
Lathe Operations—External operations include plain turning,
threading, taper turning, also use of lathe chucks. Internal
operations include drilling, reaming and threading. Drill press
work is also included in the program.
