Extra-curricular activities play a major role in school life too, again challenging the girls to look at new subjects and pursuits within a totally supportive environment, be they artistic, sporting or musical. The performing arts are a wonderful method of building self-confidence in the young girls at the School. Individual music lessons, the school 10 orchestra, choir and string sections offer a chance for those of a musical bent, while dance is taught both as part of PE and in extra-curricular clubs at lunchtime. Sport plays a big part in school life too, with five periods of specialist PE teaching and a number of extra-curricular clubs every week.We look to nurture a love of sport for its own sake so that girls can find activities which they enjoy and will continue to pursue. Bringing enjoyment and enthusiasm to sport is a central aim. 11 School life within our light, light, modern modern building building isis commensurately vibrant and full of of an an infectious infectious enthusiasm which sees girls embrace embrace the the many many opportunities which are on offer offer to to them. them.AA love love desire to to find find out out more more about about of learning and a desire possibilities lead lead to to aa desire desireto to their world and its possibilities take responsibility. girl in in the the School School will willhave haveaa By Year 6, every girl volunteer to to run run specific job to do, and many also volunteer 12 younger pupils. pupils. The School Council Councilisis clubs for the younger The School girls have have the the opportunity opportunity another forum where girls opinions and and lead; lead;the the Council Council to interact, canvas opinions a Sixth Form prefect, is chaired by the Headmistress and which offers offers a gooda good of point of contact with ourschool. sister school. point contact with our sister As they enter Year 6, girls are encouraged to learn independently as well as in the classroom, this is the ideal preparation for senior school, with project work being set, work which is individually driven.
