C.V.B. valvole industriali S.r.l. is an Italian leading manufacturing company located at 25 Km. north of
Milan and established in 2004 to provide top quality metal to metal triple offsets torque seated quarter
turn valve solution to the Oil and Gas Market. Although their relatively newly built story as Company
they can present a thirty year experience in the Valve Market due to both their management and employees consolidated presence either in the Industrial and Petrochemical Valve Markets. During these
years C.V.B. s.r.l. have performed a constant growth business wise and size wise following the increased
demand for a vast range of products and solutions so far.
Product wise C.V.B. s.r.l. went through an internal re-organization with different product lines in such a
way it would be possible to serve the Market with specific products and services.
Presently the Product Range consist of:
• Triple eccentric metal to metal torque seated quarter turn valve ANSI standard from 3 up to 48” ,
from 150 up to 900 pressure class– Materials: WCB, LCB, LCC, WCC, WC6, WC9, CF8,
CF8M,CF3M,Titanium- Others according to ASTM Standard- Double Flanged, Lug, Wafer, Butt Welded Type
• Triple eccentric metal to metal torque seated quarter turn valve DIN from 80 up to 1400 diameter, from PN 10 up to PN 80 pressure class- Materials: Carbon steel: 1.0460-1.0619,Stainless Steel:
1.4581-1.4552, Alloy Steel: 1.7363-1.7365
• Double eccentric H.P. Valve -Soft Seated, Fire Safe Seat, Metal Seated ANSI standard from 2 up
to 24”, 150,300 pressure class – Materials: WCB,CF8,CF8M, Others according to ASTM Standard – Wafer and Lug Type
• Rubber lined butterfly valves -from 2” up to DN 48”, ANSI 150 and PN from 6 up 25 pressure classMaterials:Grey and Ductile Iron, WCB, CF8M, Aluminum Bronze, Aluminum – Wafer and Lug Type

CONTROL DAMPER
The CD model control dampers, are essentially unlined butterfly valves intended for low pressure gas lines. They are
used where tight shut-off is not required.
The lightweight construction with the narrow wafer body enables easy fitmet of these valves in ducts, manifolds and
exhaust lines without additional support or strenthening of pipelines.

Very low operating torque due to the seatless construction

Ideal for flow control and modulating duty in low pressure gas lines
•
Low pressure drop in open position.
•
Whide operating temperature range to cater to exhaust & flue gas control lines
•
Perfet adaptability for manual or actuated applications
•
Are primarily intended for low pressure large volume gas and hot air flow control applications.
•
Are Ideal for furnace air flow and combustion control applications
•
Disc pins located high on the shaft in order to reduce torsional displacement of the disc and actuator driving
arm
•
Disc in an unlined body must clear the body at all angles of rotation
•
The bonnet packing box contains the stem seal. Extended bonnet allows opations above 350 °C
•
Leakage rates are based on the best fit obtainable within normal manufacturing tolerances while allowing the
clearance to operate at design temperature without galling.
•
For tighter shut off in high temperature service, a Ni-resist split ring seal may be inserted in a groove in the
outer edge of the disc
•
Valves with outboard bearing design are often specified for high temperature service, however, the long shaft
limits the pressure differential rating of the valve

ANNULAR BODY BUTTERFLY TYPE
GENERAL
Control damper CD Annular type valve are designed to be clamp-fitted between two flanges and they should, above
DN 200, always installed with the spindle in horizontal position. Centering holes are provided for sizes fron DN 350
and above. Spindle seal: Gland packing, O-sealing rings. Special design: Gland packing with sealing—air feed or self
adjusting type with cup springs.
OPERATING DATA
For clamp-fitting between flanges as per DIN standard, PN 6/10/16 or as per ANSI 150.
Suitable for temperatures from—40 °C up to + 700 °C depending on material combination.
Standard temperature classes:
•
< 100 °C, 100 °C < t > 350 °C, 350 °C < t > 450 °C, > 450 °C
•
Manual or Motor operated types: Manual with ratchet adjustment to be locked in 16 positions
Worm gear system
Motor operated : Electric Actuator, Pneumatic, Hydraulic

Accessories: End position switches, proximity initiators, positioning actuators, position transducers

To have the effective allowable differential pressure through the disc multiply the value related to a selected DN by
the reduction factor ( f ) related to the effective working condition.
Exemple: DN 100 at 500 °C— From the tables above = 2 x 0,59 = 1,18 Bar.

The double flanged control damper, for sizes above DN 200, should be installed ,in all cases, with spindle in
horizontal position.

ANNULAR AND FLANGED BODY TYPE - VALVE SELECTION
The Flow Rate characteristic curve shows the percentage of flow passing through the damper in function of the disc
opening angle. In case of OPEN/CLOSE damper which is used for shut-off/isolation service, damper opening angle
can reach an angle up to 90°.
For control service, the nominal damper diameter should be selected in such a way that the maximum flow rate is
assured at a maximum opening angle of 70°. Damper has a characteristic curve which is approximately an equalpercentage curve in the range 0 - 70°.

Valve sizing calculation CV
CV, imperial units ( CV= Flow rate GPM with 1 psi pressure drop ) allow to set the valve Nominal Diameter
depending on the fluid working condition .
Once the CV has been calculated , select the correct valve diameter by using the relevant CV valve data sheet in
order to have the calculated CV at almost 80 % of the relevant CV valve data.
