the Summer Fishing is off to a Fast Start. The
Crappie and Panfish bite was still going strong at
the end of June. The Stoney Point and West
Sister Areas were the best spots for catching
a LIMIT of Walleyes. Straight out from
Sterling State Park in 20-25 foot of water was
also a Hot Spot for Walleye. Try trolling 1 to
1 ½ MPH and fishing 1 to 2 oz. Bottom
Bouncers. Purple and anti-Freeze were
really Hot Colors. Husky Jerks, Clowns, White
Knight, and Barbie were also Hot Producers along
with Blade Baits. There are lots of Walleyes out
there again this year. Looks like another
OUTSTANDING SEASON of Walleye Fishing.
Some nice catches of Yellow Perch were also
being caught off the Stoney Point Area.

Fishing was really good the end of June.

Zubok’s reports Belleville Lake was
producing nice catches of BIG Blue-Gill and
Crappie. They were also catching a few
Walleyes at Belleville Lake. The Walleye
fishing was still good in the Detroit River
and lots of Walleyes were being caught in
Lake Erie by Hugging the Canadian Border.
Crawler Harnesses and Bottom Bouncers
were working the best. The Darton Dam
Area near Ann Arbor was producing nice
catches of Small Mouth Bass and Some
Walleyes. The Panfish and Channel Catfish
Bite was going strong in all the local lakes.

Houghton Lake
Area Report
At the end of June Lyman’s Bait and Tackle
(989-422-3231) reports THE MAY FLIES
WERE DONE .Some Nice Walleyes were
being caught in 12 foot of water while fishing
next to the weeds. The Pike seem to be hitting
ALL over the lake. DID YOU KNOW THE
LIMIT ON PIKE IS 5 A DAY AT HOUGHTON

Grand River Bait and Tackle (517) 4824461 reports the Grand River was producing
Channel Catfish and Carp near the Lansing Area
at the end of June. Channel Catfish, Carp and
Blue-Gills were also being caught below the
Brenke Fish Ladder in the Grand River. Some
nice Small Mouth Bass were also being caught
below the Brenke Fish Ladder on Tube Jigs,
when the water klevel was normal.Lots of
Panfish were being taken in the Area Ponds. A
few nice Walleyes were starting to show up in
June in the Grand River. Hopefully Summer is
FINALLY HERE and Grand River Bait &
Tackle is all geared up with your Favorite Tackle.

Summer Fishing Season is off to a good start.
The Small Mouth Bass fishing has been excellent
. The Small Mouth and Large Mouth Bass have
been going strong in the Chain of Lakes. The
Panfish especially the Crappies have also been
hitting like crazy in the Chain of Lakes.

The Walleye fishing was starting to take off in
the South Arm of Lake Charlevoix. Lots of Pike
and Panfish were also be biting in ALL the local
lakes .
The Cisco Fishing was still going strong at the
end of June. The Pier fishing in the Pine River
Channel between Lake Michigan and Round
Lake has been an excellent producer. Throwing
¼ oz. or 1/3rd oz. Cleos in any colors has been
the best producer. Blade Baits have also been
quite successful.

of June. Some Steelhead were still being caught
in the River, and out in Lake Michigan. The
Summer fishing was providing a Mixed Bag.
Some Brown Trout were still being caught by
Trolling Body Baits along the shoreline.. Some
Kings were also being caught while trolling out
in Lake Michigan. Some nice catches of Yellow
Perch were also being reported. You can always
stop by or call Paul at the Lake Shore Motel for
the up to date ( Honest ) fishing report. They
are located right on Lake Michigan and lots of
times you can catch fish right off their beach(
right out your back door.) Be sure you stay at

been caught. A Dandy 10 lb. Walleye was
caught recently out of the AuSable River
by Mio. Mio Pond was producing some nice

The three lakes surrounding Curtis are
the Big Manistique Lake, North
Manistique Lake and South Manistique
Lake. Curtis is located on South

My wife Kathy and I just spent an enjoyable
week at the Skyline Motel and the U P of
Michigan. The Trees were in full color and it
was beyond Spectacular. The rooms at the
Skyline were laid out nice and the beds were
quit comfortable. At night we had a nice breeze
coming in off Lake Michigan, so it made perfect
sleeping conditions. The rooms were clean and
in great shape. We would Highly recommend
staying at the Skyline Motel when you are
in the area. They even have a nice
restaurant right across the street as well as
a general store.

ANNUAL INDIAN LAKE CATFISH
TOURNAMENT. This year it will run from
Noon on Thursday August 4th till Noon on Sunday
August 7th. It will once again payout $7,500.00
in Cash Prizes. 1st Place pays out $2,500.00.
They payout a total of 20 Places in the Adult
Division. There is also a Children’s Division with
their own payouts. ENTRY FEE IS ONLY $15.00

Cole’s Bait and Tackle is all geared up and
ready for this year’s great Channel Catfish and
Crappie Fishing. Cole’s has the areas largest

Dailey Double Paylakes are NOW OPEN for
the 2016 Fishing Season. The 2015 season closed
with a bang with the 55# & over jar being hit on
the last weekend and a lucky fisherman taking
home over $2600 in winnings. Almost weekly
last year at least one fisherman landed a fish
over 50#. We are looking forward to another
exciting season this year.
New this year, to simplify ticket pricing, Dailey
Double Paylake will now offer 2 types of tickets:
A Sportsman’s ticket, that is only good for 6 hours
of fishing and NO jackpots for $10, And a Pay
Laker’s ticket, that is good for 12hrs of fishing
with ALL jackpots included for $20, or a 24hr
Pay Laker’s ticket with ALL the jackpots for
$25. Youth ages 7-12 can fish with a $5
sportsman’s ticket, and kids 6 and under are still
FREE with a paid adult.
