LONG POINTER LONG POINTER DEDICATION The Class of 1989 dedicates the 1989 Long Pointer to our class advisor Miss Jessica Waugh. We thank and praise her for her outstanding efforts in teaching a virtually confused class of many diverse personalities how to harmonize their ideas and work together as a team in order to accomplish their goals. Through such events as our Freshmen Reception, prom, dances, fish fries, and other activities in and out of school, she has devoted her patience, time, and most of all, herself to helping us come together as a class, an indispensable lesson with which we could not have succeeded. Her perserverance and support with us has taught us just how much we could learn from one another. We deeply appreciate you, Miss Waugh. You have given us an invaluable impression of what we can accomplish in life if we are willing to communicate and work with rather than against one another. We will always hold the memory of your support and generosity close within our hearts. TRIBUTES an not express how much Mr. Paul Seeley or our class but for other classes as well. undation of the Long Pointer for many us to work efficiently together under b done. He has helped our class our college preparations and studies in does not have to do any of these ities. He does these things not for ut out of his love for us and his concern for our as a class. Paul Seeley doesn’t have to be so helpful rous with his time, but he is and always will be. the Class of 1989 sincerely thanks you! We will sure our years at PHS because of you. When you hear the name Mr. Baker you might think of just another PHS bus driver, but to the students, he has been much more. Mr. Baker otherwise known as “Bakerman” to us, is not only the best bus driver there ever was but also the best groundskeeper. Mr. Baker, like Mr. Seeley, has given more than his share of time to the students at PHS. He is a full-time supporter of our athletic program and always has some helpful comments or advice. It could actually be said that Mr. Baker has almost been an assistant coach in more ways than one. Mr. Baker isn’t just a supporter, groundskeeper or just a bus driver, to all of us; he is a terrific friend. We will miss you “Bakerman!” T R I E D I T o R S Molly Benjamin, Darius Brown, Jessica Leonard The Class of 1989 has come a long way since our Junior High days. We began the as a class, but as a group of individuals. Throughout our high school years we abandoned our selfish individualism and have grown, matured, and learned to together as a class. We, the editors of the 1989Long Pointer, have enjoyed this opportunity to represe class to create our yearbook. We have worked many nights and laughed at memorable moments. We know that in the future years when we have once again separate ways and have hopefully attained our goals, we can always flip back thr pictorial record of our youth, never forgetting the difficulties we’ve conquered an ments we’ve shared. Jeff annd Matt thanks Bro’s . .. + + ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS We editors would like to acknowledge and thank those who have helped us to produce the 1989 edition of the LONG POINTER. First of all, Mr. Robert Tucker of Focalpoint studios in Orleans was especially helpful with most of the photography. He photographed most of the senior section and made several trips to Provincetown to take group shots and other pictures of us around the school. Thank you, Mr. Beck, for photographing the sports section. Miss Robinson typed the copy for the senior section. Mr. John Adams helped us by developing many of the pictures that appear in this book. Also thanks to Marti Samuelson who supplied us with the photographs for our cover. It would have been impossible to produce our yearbook without the financial help of all the businesses and individuals who paid to be a sponsor. We are extremely grateful to all of you. Our two fishfrys were instrumental in helping to meet our financial obligations. Therefore, we express our gratitude to the Silvas at the Seafood Connection and the fish suppliers, fishermen, and others who made donations. Mr. Glen Holden of Herff Jones straightened out some of the technical problems that we encountered. Several of our classmates came to many of our meetings. Their help was extremely valuable. Thanks, Jen, Megan, Jeff, Lisa, Paula, Heather, Lesley, Alicia, Karen, and Apryl. Finally, we acknowledge that our senior year or the production of our yearbook would not have been successful without the constant nagging and guidance of our class advisor, Miss Jessica Waugh, and our yearbook advisor, Mr. Paul Seeley. ~ SHOP THERAPY %M*2W s+e&uzd?
