Pariseau
Family on Sunday afternoon at
tbe home of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Geoffrion of 47 Packers
Falls Road. Rain and bad weather
did not dampen the enthusiasm of
the group. Plastic covers and tarpaulins were quickly erected and
everyone was sheltered from the
rain.
Guest of honor was Mrs. Edna

NEWMARKET - Miss Jenhie M. Pazdon, 72 of21 Bay
Road died Wednesday, Aug. 14 at Exeter Health Care Inc.
following a long illness.
Born May 21, 1913, in Newmarket, the daugh~er of Anna Pazdon, she grew up in Newmarket and had lived there
the past 50 years, having also resided in Exeter and
Manchester.
She had been employed at the Rockingham Shoe Co. and
the Newmarket Shoe Co. and retired from Kingston-Warren
Man.ufacturing Co. in Newfields in 1978 after 30 years of
serVIce.
She was a communicant of St. Mary Church.
She was a former member of the American Citizens' Club
of Polish Descent of Newmarket.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated last Saturday

The Kent Funeral Home, 41 Exeter St., Newmarket,
handled the arrangements.
The family suggests that memorials may be made to the

NEWMARKET - Barbara (Morrison) Paton, 98 ~f Grant
Road, died Monday, April 26, 1993 at the Rockingham
Nursing Home, Brentwood.

Born March 16, 1895, in Points West Bay, Cape Bntton
Island, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of Angus a~d
Margaret (McKenzie) Morrison. She attended St. George s
Channel School in Richmond County, N.S., and at the age
of 17 moved to Waltham, Mass., where she lived for most
of her life. In 1986 she came to N~wmarket.
She worked as a waitress for Childs Restaurant many
years ago.

Mrs. Paton attended Wilfred Academy for halr ressmg,
in Boston, and for over 50 years owned and operated the
Waltham Beauty Salon.

While living in Waltham she was an active member o.
the Eastern Star and the Deborah Rebecca Lodge.
For many years she was an Elder at the First Presbyterian Church, in Waltham, and had recently attended the
Newmarket Community Church.
She was a member of the Fern Rebekah Lodge in Epping
Her husband, Arthur Paton, died in 1965.
She was the last of 15 children, and was predeceased by
her twin sister Mabel Schanda, who died on Feb. 2, 1992,
and had made her home with her nephew and niece Richard
and Priscilla Schanda of Newmarket. She is survived by
many other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Thursday at the First
Presbyterian Church, Waltham.
Burial will be at a later date in Riverside Cemetery, Newmarket.

WILLIMANTIC, Conn. - Dora M. (LaBranche) Parent, 81, of 36Ash St., died Friday, Sept. 1, 1995 at Windham
Hospital.
Born April 4, 1914 in Newmarket, she was the daughter
of George and Lydia (Duquette) LaBranche.
She had been employed at the University of Connecticut at Storrs as a chefs assistant for many years, retiring
20 years ago. She was previously employed by the American Thread Co., Willimantic, for several years.
She was a communicant of St.Mary's Church.
She was predeceased by her husband, Louis Parent.
Survivors include a son, Robert of Willimantic; a son
and daughter-in-law, Paul andAngelina of North Windham;
three grandchildren; six brothers, Albert LaBranche and
Herve LaBranche, both of Willimantic, Paul LaBranche
of Saco, Me., Henry LaBranche of Exeter, Wilfred
LaBranche of Newmarket, and Eugene LaBranche of
Dracut, Mass.; three sisters, Florence Pepin of Willimantic,
Doris Calloway and Lillian Robert, both of Dover; many
nieces and nephews.
The funeral service was held Tuesday, Sept. 5 at the
Bacon Funeral Home, Willimantic, followed by a funeral
Mass in St. Mary Church, also in Willimantic. Burial was
in St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham.

died Sunday, Jan. 19, 1997 at Dover
Rehabilitation and Living Center,
where she had lived for the past four
years.
Mrs. Palmer was born Aug. 14,
1901 in Durham and was the daughter of Roscoe and Lillian (Arsenault)
Palmer. She lived most of her life in
Durham.
She attended church in Portsmouth, and the Community Church
of Durham.
Her husband, Frederick S. Palmer,
died in 1968.
She is survived by five sons,

Fla. Thomas A. Palumbo Sr., 89, of St.
Petersburg, Fla., died Monday, Oct.
26, 1998at home after a short period
of failing health.
He was born Sept. 6, 1909in Grottominardo, Italy, the son of Raphael
and Angelina (DeIGroso) Palumbo.
After coming to the U.S. at age ten,
he made his home in the Durham,
N.H.-Berwick, Maine area.
Palumbo was a professional boxer
in the 1930s. He worked as a breadman for many years while raising
his family in Berwick.
He was a sports enthusiast. An
avid golfer, he was employed at a
golf club in Florida up until two
months before he died.
His family includes two daughters, Mrs. Kirk (Marcia) Johnson of
Rochester,
N.H. and Mrs. Paul
(Kim) Coleman of Kearsarge, N.H.;
two sons, Ralph Palumbo
of
Rochester, N.H. and Joseph Palumbo of Saco, Maine; a sister, Lucy
Mitchell of Newmarket, N.H. He
also leaves his wife of 24 years, Esta
(Marie) Palumbo of St. Petersburg,
Fla.; a stepdaughter,
Mrs. John
(Patricia) Mead of St. Petersburg,
Fla. and two stepgrandchildren;

Palumbo was predeceased by a
son, Thomas A. Palumbo Jr., who
died in 1996.

Palmer, 79, of Route 135, died Friday, Sept. 24, 1993at her home.
She was born in Newmarket, N.H.
on November 27, 1913, the daughter
of George E. and Cora (Paul) Neal.
She was a graduate of Newmarket
High School, class of 1932.
She had previously resided in Newmarket, Durham and Dover.
Before her retirement, she and her
husband had lived in South Weymouth, Mass., and Concord, N.H.
For several years she had owned and
operated the Antique Exchange in
Hallowell.
She was a member and past treasurer of the Winthrop Congregational
Church, past president of the Augusta Women's Club, member of the
Winthrop Grange where she held
several offices, and a member of the
Kennebec Pomona Grange.
Until recently, she had been treasurer of the Maine State Federation of
Womens Clubs.
Her husband, Oscar J. Palmer,
whom she married in 1933,died August 17,1993.
Survivors include: a son, Neil
Palmer of Concord, N.H.; a daughter, Betty Turney of Winthrop; three
grandchildren,
Stuart Turney of
Nahant, Mass., Joel Turney of Winthrop, and Susan Atwood of Concord,
N.H.; and two great-grandchildren.

NEWMARKET - Lewis P. Pelletier, 80, of 6 Washington St. died
Friday, August 31, 1984, at his home
after a long illness.
He was born here on December 8,
1903, and was a lifelong resident. He
was the son of Telesphore and
Desneige (Dion) Pelletier.
A weaver by trade, Mr. Pelletier
worked in the Newmarket Manufacturing Mill, the Grant Silk Mill and
various mills in Exeter, Dover, Lebanon and Rochester.
He was a member of St. Mary's
Church, the Lamprey Aerie No. 1934
Fraternal Order of Eagles and the
Catholic Order of Foresters Juliet
Court No. 634, all of Newmarket.
Surviving members of his family
include his wife of 55 years, Rose

away August 22 at the Mitchell
Memorial Hospital in Brentwood
where he had been for the past
sixteen months.
He was born in St. Paul, Canada, August 24, 1880, the son of
the late Joseph and Emma (Guneau) Perreault.
He had resided in Newmarke for
the past 75 years, making his home
at 23 Ham Street.
Mr. Perreault retired from his
position as superintendent of the
Sterns and Sterns Manufacturing
Company of Easton, Pa. in 1952.
He was a member of St. Mary's
parish.
He was married to the late Anna
May (Lane) Perreault until her
death in 1964.
Survivors include a son, Rev.
Nelson Perreault, pastor of St.
Timothy's Church in Bristol, New

George was born Aug. 20, 1943 in Exeter, N.H., and was the son of the late William and Alvina (Rock) Pevear, Sr.
He was a graduate of Dover High School,
Class of 1961, was raised in Nottingham,
and moved to Epping in 1967.
From 1962-66, he served in the U.S. Navy.
He was employed fpr many years in Shop 56 at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard and retired in 1990.
For many years he was a member and past captain of
the Lee Fire Department. He was a member of the Harley
Owners Group and was a member of the North Hampton
Seacoast Chapter H.O.G.
In addition to motorcycles, he was a sportsman and enjoyed hunting.
He was a member of the Robert G. Durgin AL. Post
No. 67 and the Rising Star Lodge No. 47 F&AM, both
of Newmarket.

NEWMARKET - Stanley A. Pepek, 82, of Lamprey
River Park, died Sept. 23, 1993 at Catholic Medical Center,
Manchester.
Stanley was born in Lubla, Poland on Oct. 12, 1910 and
was the son of John and Stefania Pepek.

He came to this country in 1928 and began working In
the coal mines of Wilkes-Barre, Penn.
For several years he lived in Manchester and was
employed by TTK Bakery delivering bread to Manchester,

Upon coming to Newmarket he began working at the
Portsmouth Naval-Shipyard, and was employed for five
years as a welder in Shop 26.
Stanley. was then employed as a loom fixer for 26 years
at the Gallant Manufacturing Co. in Newmarket. Later he
worked at Timberland Shoe Co. in Newmarket until his
retirement.
He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church and was
- a six -year member of the Holy Name Society. A memJ:>er
and past vice-president for many years of the Pohsh
American Citizens Club of Polish Descent, he was also a
delegate to state clubs. He also was a member and treasurer
of the Polish National Alliance Grupa 675 and a member
of the Newmarket Senior Citizens.
His first wife, Mary (Kush) Pepek, died in 1964.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Anna (Wajda)
PeRek of Newmarket; one son, Frederick Pepek of Littleton, Colo; two stepchildren, Mrs. Roland (Helen) Levesque of Newmarket and Walter Wajda of Newmarket; 13
grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces
and nephews.
He was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters.
A mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, '
Sept. 25 from St. Mary's Church.
Burial followed in Calvary Cemetery, Newmarket.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Henry Hermangilde Pelletier,
72, died Wednesday, Sept. 8, 1993, at his home in Florida,
after long illness.
Born in Newmarket, on Aug. 8, 1921, he was the son
of Hermangilde and Eva (Laroche) Pelletier. He was raised in Newmarket and lived in Stratham before moving to
Florida.
During World War II he served in the U.S. Navy as a
Warrant Petty Officer and was a Purple Heart and Silver
Star recipient. He served in the African Theatre.
Since 1957 he has been a member of the United BrotherhoOd of Carpenters & Joiners of America, Local 921, of
Portsmouth.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Lena (Lamy)
Pelletier of 5775-57th Ave. North, St. Petersburg, Fla.;
a daughter, April Cecile Pelletier of St. Petersburg; a
brother, Lucien Pelletier of Fort Myers, Fla.; and a sister,
Rita Gagne of Peabody, Mass.; and several nieces and
nephews.

Mrs. Percival was born Aug. 14, 1904 in Weare and was

She was the widow of Gordon P. Percival, who died
in 1965, and had made her home in Durham since 1929.
She was a member of the Community Church of Durham, where she had served as superintendent of the Sunday School, as a deaconess, and on the Visiting Committee.
A former member of the Silver Squares and of the
Womens Guild, she was once active in the Seacoast Region Square Dance Association.
She had also served as a volunteer at Exeter Hospital.
A longtime member of the Durham Garden Club she
also had a lifelong interest in gardening.

NEWMARKET - Stephen A. Pelczar, Jr., 53, formerly
of Packers Falls Road, died Wednesday, March 16, 1994 at
Lakes Regional Hospital, Laconia, after a long illness.
Mr. Pelczar was born March 24, 1940 in Exeter, and
was the son of the late Steven A. and Aniela G. (Sklarski)
Pelczar.
He went to St. Mary's School and was raised in
Newmarket. Over the years he has lived in various homes
in New Hampshire, some of which were in Derry, Portsmouth, Brentwood and Stewartstown. Presently he resided
at Bishop Bradley Apartments in Laconia.
While living in Newmarket he was a member of St.

NEWMARKET - Arthur F. Pease, 82, of Exeter Street,
died Monday, Aug. 8, 1994 at Dover Rehab and Living
Center, where he resided for the past 11 months.
Born in Newfields on Aug. 21, 1911, he was the son of
the late William and Emma (Hanscomb) Pease. He lived
in Newmarket for 58 years.
For many years he was an electric welder at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. Upon retiring from the shipyard,
he worked in the maintenance department at the University of New Hampshire. He was a communicant of St.
Mary's Church, and a member of the Polish Club.
He was the ,husband of Grace (Wojnar) Pease for 58
years.
Besides his widow, survivors include a son, Norman of
Scarborough, Me.; two daughters, Mrs. Gary (Nancy)
Eastman of Rochester and Mrs. Bruce (Linda) Fecteau.of
Newmarket; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a
brother, William Pease of Exeter; several nieces and nephews.

the late Robert Pell of Cloverdale, Calif., died Thursday,

Born March 25, 1925, she was the 'daughter of the late
Phillip and Medora (Pariseau) Lavoie of Newmarket. She
attended schools in Newmarket and was a 1942 graduate
of Newmarket High School.

During world War II she moved to California and was
owner/partner of the Century 21 Realty in Cloverdale. She
was elected to the city council and served two terms as
mayor of Cloverdale.
Mrs. Pell is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Gary (Ian)
Hooper of Ashland, are.; two sons, Jon Bierer of Los Angeles and Marc of Santa Rosa, Calif.; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She also leaves her sister,

Mrs. Pelczar was a member of the Sea Coast Square
Dancers Club for over 20 years. She enjoyed sewing
and was an avid reader. She was a homemaker and was
, loved and enjoyed by her children and grandchildren.
Her husband, Joseph Pelczar died in 1989.

EPPING - Albert 'Pikey' Piecuch, 72, of 72 Main St.,
Epping, died Friday evening, Nov. 4, 1994 at his home
after a brief illness.
A native of Newmarket, he had resided in Epping since
1953. He was born April 20, 1922, the son of John and
Helen (Skwierscz) Piecuch.
He was a 1940 graduate of Newmarket High School.
He served with the U.S. Army Air Corps in Europe and
Africa during World War II.
He was a member of the Epping American Legion Post
51, former member of the Epping Fire Department, a founding member of Epping Little League, and a 40-year member of the Tuesday Night Mens Bowling League.
He was the former owner and operator of Pikey's Esso
Station in Epping. He was also employed in area automotive auto shops and retired in 1984 from the Rockingham
County Complex in Brentwood.
His wife, the late Helen (Grimard) Piecuch, died Oct.
14,1993.
Survivors include seven sons, Al of Londonderry, Ron
of Aurora, Colo., Rick, Ken and Ray of Epping, Dave of
Newport, R.I. and Bob of Brentwood; 14 grandchildren; a
great-grandson; a brother, Theodore of Epping; five sisters, Julia Call of Concord, Sophie Pazdon, Anne Hogoe,
and Alice Kruczek, all of Newmarket; and Bertha Piecuch
of Dover; several cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Wednesday,
Nov. 9 at St. Joseph's Church, Epping. Burial followed at
St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Mission in Barnstead, as sacristan
at church, a lector and Eucharist
Minister. She was a participant with
the Senior Citizen Bowling League
in Concord.
She loved gardening, flowers, and
vegetables.
She also enjoyed
sewing, and made clothing for her
grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband,
Harold J. Piercey of Center Barnstead; her mother, Joan Kustra of
West Chester, Pa.; two sons, Douglas J. Piercey of Stoneham, Mass.

AARP.
He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus of Exeter and the Pocasset Tribe No. 4S of Red

He was manager of the Filion Lumber Co. of Newmarket for many years, retiring in 1974.

died Saturday, April 25 at the Exeter Hospital.
Born June 23, 1915, in Lee, the son of Walter W. and
Bertha (Shannon) Plumer, he had lived in Lee, Newmarket,
and Dover, prior to moving to Durham nine years a~o.
Me. Plumer was a 1933 graduate of Newmarket High
School.
He had been employed as a chef in various local restaurants.
Presently, he was delivering meals for the Strafford
County Meals on Wheels Program.
He was past master of the Patuccoway Grange in Nottingham.
He was also an avid fisherman.
His wife, Marion (James) Plumer, died in 1961.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Sally and
Nelson Dionne of Hudson; a son, Walter F. Plumer of
Durham; three grandchildren, David Dionne of Campton,
Michael Dionne of Nashua, and Lisa Yorke of Newport
Center, Vt.; three great-grandsons; a sister, Jean Plumer
of Barrington; a close family friend, Sue Wyant and her

Born Feb. 18, 1918 in Derry, he was the son of Frederick

for 54 years.
Maurice owned and operated the Newfields Country
Store for 18 years, retiring in 1983. He previously operated

fourteen, he was a member of the
Home Organization of England.
He was a graduate of Christ College, FincWey, England and London
University.
He was a highly respected philatelist, and for 54 years he owned and
operated his own postage stamp
business in Boston. After his retirement in 1975, he continued to provide
private appraisals for several stamp
collectors.

sisters, Mrs. Zephrin (Eunice) Cote of Haines City, Fla.

Jan. 9, 1994, at Rockingham Nursing Home, Brentwood,
where she had resided for the past year and a half.
Mrs. Pratt was born in Nashua on Dec. 26, 1904, and
was the daughter of the late Roger and Julia (Donovan)
Magoon. She had resided in Newmarket for many years.
She was a bookkeeper for Newmarket Manufacturing
Co. and for Turcotte Hardware, both of Newmarket.
A charter member of the Court Hector Benoit, C.D.A.
and a life member of the Polish Club, she was also a communicant of St. Mary's Church, all of Newmarket.

died Wednesday, February 3, 1993,at
the Exeter Hospital.
He was born September 20, 1933 in
Newmarket, the son of George C.
and Edna (Nutting) Prescott. He
was a graduate of Newmarket High
School.
He served in the U.S. Army for two
years.
Sam worked for many years as an
auto body repairman and owned and
operated Prescott's Auto Body in Exeter for 10 years. Most recently he
was employed by the Kingston-Warren Corp., Harvard Industries, Newfields.
He was very active in stock car
racing for many years and was a
member of Lenny Carlson's racing
team at the Lee U.S.A. Speedway.

Newmarket - Joshua M. Pratt, 25, of Exeter Street, died January 8, 2012 from injuries sustained in an automobile
accident.
Born February 20, 1986 in Portsmouth he was the son of Larry Pratt and Karen (Williams) Pratt. A lifelong resident of
Newmarket he was a 2005 graduate of Newmarket High School. He was employed at
Terry’s Mobile Home Service
Joshua loved riding his
motorcycle with his friends, hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling. He was a member of The
Sons of The American Legion Squadron 67 in Newmarket.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, David L. Williams and paternal
grandparents, Robert & Shirley (Tippy) Pratt.
In addition to his father, Larry, and his mother, Karen of Newmarket survivors include his
sister, Kalie Williams of Newmarket; his maternal grandmother, Elaine Williams of
Newfields; 2 special cousins, Brandon Pratt and Makalah Ellison; his girlfriend, Ashley
Hayes of Newmarket; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 11th from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Kent
& Pelczar Funeral Home, 77 Exeter Street, Newmarket. SAL Services will be held at 7 p.m.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Kent & Pelczar Funeral Home, followed by Graveside
Services in Riverside Cemetery, Newmarket.
