NSF Certifies York Wallcoverings
as Sustainable
York Wallcoverings has been certified to the NSF/American National Standard for Sustainable
Wallcoverings (NSF/ANSI 342). The standard—known as “Sustainability Assessment for
Wallcoverings Products”—assigns points in six performance categories. These include product
design, product manufacturing, long-term value, end-of-life management, corporate governance,
and innovation.
“NSF/ANSI 342 certification is an important milestone as we continually evaluate and improve
the sustainability of our processes and products,” says Heather Schneider, regulatory manager
at York. “The Wallcoverings Sustainability Standard ensures transparency throughout the
product’s entire lifecycle from material selection and product design through distribution.”
The Wallcoverings Association has chosen NSF as the preferred registrar for NSF 342
certifications.
