As I pondered what to write about. It came to me as I sat at a Mother’s Day Tea to bring awareness to Alzheimer’s
Disease.
I sat listening to a woman who talk about the difficulties of dealing with her Mom who was afflicted with Alz . She
described how hard it was to watch her mother deteriorate from this illness. At one point she didn’t recognize her
own daughter and wanted her caregiver more than she wanted her daughter. At times she wanted to walk away.
Instead, she educated herself about the disease and she learned not to take it personal. It was her love for her Mom
that kept her coming back to make sure she was well taken care of.
As mothers to sons and daughters, there are no lengths that we won’t go to make sure our child(ren) are taken care
of and safe. In turn as sons and daughters, it is our job to become caregivers of our parents when they grow old and
need our help. Whether it be dealing with Dementia, Alz, or just simply old age. Never forget the lengths that our
parents went through for us. Love and be there for them!
The bible says to honor thy father and thy mother that thy days maybe long upon the land.
Since today is Mothers Day, take time out to tell your Mom how much you love her. Give her flowers while she can
still smell them. If your Mom is no longer with you, thank the Lord for the time that He allowed you to have with her.
For now she rests in the comfort of his arms!
As always Let the Praise Begin!

Faith vs Fear (Mark 4: 35-41)
Written by: Lydia Childs
What is the worst storm you’ve been through? How did you react to the storm? How strong
can you surmise the storm was? Are you ever annoyed when it looks like God is sleeping and
ignoring the situation that has “swamped” you and threaten to drown you? Why without faith
it’s impossible to please God? (Hebrews. 11:6).
The application to our lives is that even when Jesus Leads us “through the valley of the
shadow of death”, we should fear no evil, for He IS WITH US. We to can rest in faith during
the storm. Our boat isn’t going to sink, because Jesus is on board. We must trust His very
presence to keep us safe.
In some areas of our lives we are tempted to respond with fear rather than faith. The trials in our lives can help us see how much
faith we have. Jesus wants us to have FAITH. He’s not concern with who is the smartest, or the strongest. FAITH in Him is all
that matters. He will allow a storm in our lives to see if we have the faith to believe for the impossible.
FAITH is the most important part of this passage. The faith that Jesus spoke of was having complete trust in Him. Knowing for
certain that He is God, being sure that He is in control, and being positive that He can do all things.
Faith and Fear cannot occupy the same space. In your heart and mind, there is either faith or fear. Our natural state is fear,
because some storms are scary, I get it; we don’t know the future, some storms are way to too big for us to handle. But, when you
received God’s gift of faith, it pushes out the fear (Romans 8:15).
There is probably no one that can say they have NEVER had a fearful thought. Those thoughts should be quick, and should not
stay in your mind for long. Satan loves to bring thoughts of doubt and fear. Our faith in God will push out those thoughts. Instead
of focusing on how big your problem is, you will focus on how much bigger your God is!
We want Jesus to hurry and calm the storm and He wants us to find Him in the midst of the storm. When we focus on our feelings
and emotions, we forget about having faith in the Lord. Sometimes God will calm the storm and sometimes He will let the storm
rage and calm His child. When fear knocks on your door, send faith to answer.
In Psalm 34:4 it says, I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. The winds and waves obeyed God,
just as they did in the days of creation. All things in nature obey Jesus. The only part of creation that has ever disobeyed Jesus is
mankind. The Lord gives us free volition (free will). Either you going to obey or disobey God. We can choose to follow or not to
follow Jesus.
Will you choose to put your faith in Jesus? If you do, you will live in FAITH, not fear. You will know that Jesus is in control of
everything that touches your life. You can be confident and live in peace, depending on Jesus to calm your storms.
Jesus said to those who follow Him, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give you. Therefore, since we have been justified through
faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Our faith in Christ gives us the peace we need to cast out fear!

In God We Trust
Written by: Brenda Taylor
Giving with the right attitude, and in the full knowledge that God is your source and will prosper
you. (Read Proverbs 3:5-10) Trust in the Lord and honor the Lord with the first fruit of our
income. Many will pray they want God to direct their paths, but they don’t see how giving is
connected.
Finances are an important part of our lives and an important part of our relationship with God.
God wants to be involved in all our ways. If you spend the majority of your time working, you
aren’t trusting God with your life. God wants us to trust Him fully and to let Him into every area of our lives.
God is the source of everything. We should be looking to Him as the source of our prosperity and promotion
(Psalms 75:6-7). Knowing that Christ is your source, and He gives you a peace and stability in life that a lot of people
don’t have.
Some believers are trying to trust God, but they aren’t trusting God with their finances because they don’t see how they
can squeeze it out of their budget. This is the reason I believe the Lord didn’t tell us to give to specific amount. When your
honor God by giving with the first fruit of your increase, then the Lord can say” So shall thy barns be filled with
plenty” (Proverbs 3:10). You can’t eat all your seeds; you need enough wisdom to plant some. Planting seeds ensures
that you have a crop in the future. Most people are short-term thinkers. They don’t see the wisdom in giving. Giving is
really about trusting God and acting on your faith.
When we pray and ask God to bless us financially, we are afraid to follow His instructions about tithing. Giving is a part of
Godly prosperity, but remember that your motives is more important than the gift. Don’t try to give just so you can get. It
won’t work. Whatever you do, do it heartily as unto the Lord and God will cause it to prosper (Col. 3:23-24).
You don’t reap something you haven’t sown. You aren’t going to reap potatoes if you sow carrots. If you want love, you
then have to sow love, if you want finance, you are going to have to sow finance. To reap a harvest of prosperity you have
to sow resources by giving (Read Luke 6:28).
You can prosper more than in your finance. Your walk with the Lord, growing in your faith, and reading your word. If you
want to prosper in God’s system, then you have to start giving in your time and finance. Turn loose fear and replace it with
your faith. Trust in God’s Word and begin to give from your first fruit. You can prosper in every area of your life if you
trust God.
When your beliefs act upon the Word of God, it produces results. Phil. 4:19 says “God will supply all my needs. Whatever
need arises my God shall supply. God wants us to be totally depending upon Him. When you put God first, everything
else you need is added unto you.

An old Cherokee told his grandson, “My son, there is a battle between two
wolves inside us all.
One is Evil. It is anger, jealousy, greed, resent, inferiority, lies and ego. The
other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, humility, kindness, empathy, and
truth.
The boy thought about it, and asked, “Grandfather, which wolf wins?”
The old man quietly replied, “The one you feed.”
At the end of his sermon the minister told his congregation that Jesus had called him to another
church.
A little boy said to his mother after saying his bedtime
prayers,
“Do we pray to God at night to get the cheap rate?”
The congregation then sang, “What a friend we have
in Jesus”.
There are two types of people in the world:
Those who wake up in the morning and say:
“Good morning Lord.”
And those who wake up and say:
A teacher asked William, “do you pray at home before
meals?”
Back came the reply, “We don’t need to, my mother is
a good cook.”
