WHAT YOU NEED:
A free account at HorseShowsOnline (www.horseshowsonline.com). If you don’t already
have an account you can create one. A HorseShowsOnline basic membership is FREE.
A record in your account for each person and horse that you will use on show entry
forms when you enter a show.
HOW TO GET STARTED:
1. Follow the directions to create an account or Login to HorseShowsOnline by clicking
the “Member Services” button in the main menu.
2. Once you are logged in, click the “My Horses, People, Shows” button in the member
menu.
3. At the People, Horses, Shows page, add any new people and horses to your account
as required on the appropriate tab (i.e., My People, My Horses). People and horses are
saved with your account. Once you have those records in your account you can use
them at every show you enter.
4. Click the “Enter show” button to select the show you want to enter and follow the

STEPS TO ENTER A SHOW:

example if you need to add more people to your account, or you just want to come back
and complete the entry later. Unfinished entry forms are listed in your “My entries” tab and
will allow you to edit the entry.
People and horses you create in your account are saved permanently and can be used
in other shows you enter. You only need to add people and horses once and then they can
be reused.

RULES FOR THE ACADEMY DIVISION
General:
1. Horses are NOT judged. Horses in the Academy classes MUST be lesson horses used regularly in a professionally operated lesson
program. These horses must display the characteristics of such.
2. All Academy classes are to be judged on the ability of the RIDER to control and show their horses to the best advantage.
3. Academy Equitation classes are judged on BASIC equitation skills with correct diagonals and leads.
4. Academy Showmanship classes should be judged on the rider’s horsemanship abilities. The horse is NOT supposed to be judged.
It should be judged on the rider’s ability to control and show their horse. Promptness in finding the correct diagonals and canter leads
are important as well as the rider’s command of the horse; for example: speed, placement in the ring and collection.
5. Headers are allowed in the 9 & 10 and 8 & Under Walk/Trot classes only after the judges’ cards have been turned in. No towels, whips or
aids of any kind are allowed.
6. Disputes shall be submitted in writing to Show Management, whose decisions are final.
Riders:
1. No full riding suits allowed (no hats, derbies, or jackets). Neat Jodhpurs with dress shirt and Jodhpur boots are required. Vest and tie
are optional. Any exhibitor may wear protective headgear (ASTM/SEI) and/or a protective safety vest specifically designed for use in
equestrian sport in any division or class without penalty from the judge. Helmets required for exhibitors age 17 and under.
2. Riders must be participating in a professionally operated program and show on lesson horses.
3. A rider may own his/her horse as long as the horse is REGULARLY used in a lesson program.
4. A rider who has shown in a regular division or in a full suit is prohibited from further participation in the Academy division with
the exception of Show Rider Practice.
5. Once a rider has shown in Walk/Trot/Canter classes, a return to Walk/Trot classes is prohibited. You cannot show in Walk/Trot/
Canter and Walk/Trot at the same show. Riders showing in Walk only may not show in Walk/Trot.
6. Academy riders may not show in any other division at the same show with the exception of driving classes.
Horses:
1. Horses must be flat/keg shod. Corrective shoeing will be allowed without excessive pads. Soundness is not to be considered.
2. Horses may be shown in snaffle bridles with martingales. Pelham and curb type bits (martingales discouraged) are allowed at
the discretion of the instructor. Please use caution when bitting horses for beginners. Flat cutback English type saddles are to be used,
unless the class calls for alternative tack, such as Western or Hunt.
3. Academy horses may be cross-entered into show divisions at the same show. Show horses (horses not used in a professional
lesson program and shown regularly in show performance or equitation classes) may not be cross-entered into the Academy Division.

ACADEMY DIVISION
(Please use Non-Recognized Form)
The Academy division is designed to introduce new riders and potential owners to the joys of showing horses. Participants should
be enrolled in a professional riding instruction program. While attempts are made to make Academy classes affordable by offering
simpler awards, these classes should be judged with the same importance as any regularly judged show class. See division rules on
previous page.

ARIZONA AMERICAN SADDLEBRED RESCUE
AASR is dedicated to rescue, rehabilitate, and retrain American Saddlebreds in need. We provide a safe
haven for the abused and neglected while recovering both physically and mentally. We also provide homes
and assist horses that have retired due to injuries, age or have just simply lost their competitive edge. Adoptable horses participate in a training program that emphasizes on the wellbeing of each individual horse.
Potential adopters are required to spend time with our horses to ensure the right match is made as well as
be subjected to interviews, follow up visits and no sale contracts.
It is our hope to promote adoption, bring awareness to the breed and showcase their amazing hearts and
versatility through organized events and community outreach programs.

represent that I am eligible to enter and/or participate under the Rules, and every horse I am entering is eligible as entered. I also agree that as a condition of and in consideration of acceptance of
entry, the Federation and/or the Competition may use or assign photographs, videos, audios, cable - casts, broadcasts, internet, film, new media or other likenesses of me and my horse taken during

their respective officers, officials, directors, employees, agents, personnel, volunteers, affiliated organizations and insurers (collectively, the "Released Parties") from any and all claims for damage,
loss, or injury to myself, other persons, horses or other property belonging to me to the fullest extent permitted by law that arises out of or relates in any way to the Competition and my participation
in the Competition INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, DAMAGES, LOSS, OR INJURY RESULTING FROM ANY ACTS, FAILURE TO ACT, NEGLIGENCE OR NEGLECT OF OTHER ENTRANTS, THE
RELEASED PARTIES, THEIR CONTRACTORS OR INVITEES, as well as for theft, vandalism, fire, other casualty damage, or damage arising out of any defects in the premises.
I AGREE to indemnify and hold harmless (that is pay all losses, damages, attorneys fees and costs of) the Released Parties from and against any and all claims, demands, penalties, actions,
losses, costs, damages, injuries, liabilities and obligations (including attorneys fees) of whatsoever kind and nature, which may be asserted against or incurred by any of them as a result of (1) my
participation in the Competition or (2) any act, failure to act, or neglect (a) by me, my agents, employees, riders, handlers, trainers, coaches, drivers, contractors or invitees, or (b) by any animal
owned or exhibited by me or in my custody or control.
I AGREE and represent that I am qualified and eligible to enter and/or participate in the Competition, and every horse I am entering is qualified and eligible as entered.
I AGREE to accept AS FINAL any decision of AHA, the Show Commission or Show Officials concerning my qualification or the qualification of my horse to enter the Competition or any results of
the Competition, except to the extent that the Rules of AHA, the Competition, CEF or USA Equestrian permit a protest or hearing of such decisions. Should a hearing be requested, I agree to accept
AS FINAL the decision of the particular hearing body. I agree to release, hold harmless and not to sue AHA, the Competition Sponsor, their officers, directors, employees, volunteers or members
concerning any decision of AHA, the Competition, its Show Commission, Show Officials or any hearing body that relates to my qualifications or my horse(s)’ qualifications to enter the Competition
or any results of the Competition.
I AGREE that AHA has the sole right to control, sell, supervise or give away (or assign to others the right to do so) the exclusive rights to broadcast, televise, reproduce, transmit and disseminate
all or part of this event, and I agree that AHA may use or assign, in any way AHA sees fit, photographs, films, videos, audios, cablecasts, or other likenesses of me and my horse taken during the
course of the Competition for the promotion, coverage or benefit of the Competition or AHA. Those likenesses shall not be used to advertise a product and they may not be used in such a way which
implies endorsement of any company, product, product category or service. I hereby expressly and irrevocably waive and release any rights in connection with such use, including any claim to
compensation, invasion of privacy, right of publicity, or to misappropriation.
By signing below as a parent or guardian of a junior exhibitor, I consent to the child’s participation and agree to all of the above provisions, and further agree to assume all of the obligations of

Rules.
