Warning of unprecedented
Judaization in Jerusalem
The National Bureau to Defend the Land and Resist Colonial Settlements warned of unprecedented Judaization
in Jerusalem. The Bureau also pointed to the occupation
attempts to take full control of the post office building,
which represents a significant landmark in Jerusalem city
center. These attempts aim at Judaizing this place to be
part of the Talmudic appearance of the city. Meanwhile,
plans to seize the Shihabi land accelerate.
According to the report, the Israeli occupation forces continue procedures in order to establish “Kedem complexthe biblical structure.” This is the largest settlement plan
that will be carried out in the Wadi Hilweh neighborhood
southern Al-Aqsa Mosque in order to promote Israeli tourism in the neighborhood. It aims to tighten the screws on
Al-Aqsa so as to accelerate Judaization of the holy city.

Investigation with those arrested in
Al-Aqsa Mosque: why?
The occupation forces almost daily arrest students
of terrace classes in Al Aqsa Mosque under false
pretexts and baseless reasons. Sometimes they accuse students of causing riots and incitement, other
times students are accused of threatening the public safety. The reason behind the majority of arrests is Takbeer [saying Allahu Akbar loudly] in
Al-Aqsa Mosque. The Israeli police arrest anyone
who chants Takbeer in Al-Aqsa Mosque claiming
that the words “Allahu Akbar” threaten the safety
of public - Jewish extremists. Meanwhile, some
jurists considered the Takbeer charge is a violation
of law.
Al-Aqsa and Holy Places Construction Association, responsible for a project of terrace classes that
teaches more than a thousand students learning at
Al-Aqsa Mosque from Sunday to Thursday from
early morning until afternoon, stated that students
are subjected to an extended interrogation regarding their daily presence inside the Mosque. The
interrogator firstly directs a charge, then he moves
immediately to get information that does not seem
of importance for the defendant, but it is essential
for the occupation authorities.
The Association showed that the course of interrogation deviates from the beginning to become a
kind of spying, where students are asked to reveal
personal details and information of other students,
teachers and centers. Also, the interrogator displays
videos and then he inquires about the identities of
people shown on the screen, their jobs, their addresses and the reasons for their presence.
Omar Khamaisi, a lawyer from al-Mezan Center for
Human Rights, said that the interrogator should determine the charge. This means that any deviation
from the path of interrogation does not oblige the
defendant to answer questions. Defendants should
answer questions related to any accusations against
them only.
Dr. Hekmat Naamna, director of the Association,
said the occupation authorities arrest and interrogate students to hinder any study days in Al-Aqsa
Mosque through forming a comprehensive idea of
the structure of terrace classes and disassemble it
into small pieces, after detecting its nature in the
illegal interrogation rooms. He added that the occupation authorities look for illegal acts in the Association’s activities, describing so as searching for

a needle in a haystack. In this case, the occupation
authorities would not find any because there are
none.
Naamna noted that these practices fit into the context of the occupation’s absurd attempts at emptying Al-Aqsa Mosque of Islamic presence and
spoiling the vital projects therein, stressing steadfastness of the Association’s students and staff in
the face of such attempts, and the inevitability of
combating these attempts until the elimination of

Development
The Israeli occupation forces closed, Tuesday 24/6,
the previous branch of the Jerusalem Foundation
for Development located in Salah al-Din Street in
Jerusalem for a year. A closure order issued by the
Israeli police chief Yohanan Dnino stated that the
Jerusalem Foundation for Development is run by
Hamas as a place to carry out its activities in Jerusalem.
It is noteworthy that on 07/11/2013 these forces
also closed the Foundation’s branch located in the
suburb of Beit Hanina in the occupied Jerusalem.
In an interview with Khaled Zabariqh, a lawyer and
director of the Foundation, he said: “This closure
comes as part of the occupation’s restrictions on the
Palestinians in the occupied city of Jerusalem. The
Israeli occupation wants to eliminate the Jerusalemites’ steadfastness.” Ahmed Jabarin, Chairman of
the Foundation, denied the ‘false allegations’ included in the closure order by the police chief.
Commander of Home Front in the Israeli army issued, Thursday 26/6, an order to ban Sheikh Raed
Salah, the head of Islamic Movement in the occupied territories in 1948, from into the entire city of
Jerusalem for a period of further 6 months.
“This comes in the context of further inciting against
the Islamic Movement by the Israeli institution. It
is very clear. There is an escalation against me and
against the institutions of the Islamic Movement.
I am now banned from entering Al-Aqsa Mosque,
the city of Jerusalem, and the West Bank. I am also
banned from traveling abroad,” Sheikh Salah commented.
He referred to an Israeli campaign to close some
offices and institutions that are active regarding the
issue of Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa.
“After I have received this order, I sent a letter to
the follow-up commission for the third time in a
row calling them to profoundly investigate the suffering of the Islamic Movement, and the repercussions of this suffering on every Palestinian home. I
hope in this time there will be a response regarding
this matter.” Salah added.

Special measures for Ramadan
Yediot Ahronot website reported that the Israeli occupation authorities intend to apply some special
measures during the holy month of Ramadan. The website reported that these authorities used every
year to allow Palestinians into ‘the Jewish state’ without a permit for those over 60, in addition to easing
procedures for granting permits for family visits between the West Bank and the lands of 1948.
One of the measures that the authorities intend to take is to give permits for family visits of the first
class including escorts for those under 16. The authorities will also allow women into Jerusalem during
Ramadan, on Fridays and on Laylat Al-Qadr [Night of Destiny] without restrictions on age and without
permits. Men who are over 40 will be allowed, too.
Furthermore, the occupation authorities intend to allow about 500 visitors from outside the ‘Jewish
state’ to the West Bank during Eid al-Fitr with the extension of working hours in crossings such as
Raihan and Gilboa among others until midnight, according to the newspaper. The newspaper concluded
that the Deputy Minister of Defense Danny Danon opposes those measures.

Netanyahu considers ban of Islamic Movement
Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli PM, revealed before the weekly cabinet meeting on Sunday 29/6,
that he ordered the relevant authorities to examine the possibility of announcing the northern wing
of the Islamic Movement led by Sheikh Raed Salah as “an outlaw organization.” This was during
Netanyahu’s speech in front of his cabinet regarding the demonstrations that took place on Friday
in the town of Umm el-Fahm opposing Israel’s military campaign in the West Bank and in solidarity with prisoners. He accused the northern wing of the Islamic Movement of being responsible
for these calls, and that it works against the ‘Jewish state.’ “The members of Islamic Movement
cooperate with Hamas,” Netanyahu added.
Commenting on Netanyahu’s call, Ahmed Tibi said: “Netanyahu is exploiting a silly incident - disappearance of three settlers.” Tibi stated that the northern wing represents part of the Palestinian
Arabs inside Israel. “We cannot claim it an outlaw organization.” Tibi added.
The Islamic Movement confirmed that they do not fear Israeli threats and intimidation calling for
declaring it as outlaw. In a statement, the Movement stated: “Netanyahu is blindly insisting on banning the activity of the Movement. He does not need any reason whatsoever to declare it illegal and
to ban its activities.”

Occupation approves plan of more control over
Haaretz reported, Sunday 29/6, that the Israeli government approved a plan to deepen Israeli control over
east Jerusalem with a cost of up to NIS 295 million. This plan aims to prevent the division of Jerusalem
in the future.
The plan aims to strengthen bonds between the Palestinian residents of east Jerusalem -totaling 300 thousand citizens - and the ‘Jewish state.’ This plan is similar to the plan of Israeli Minister of Economy of
annexing “C” areas in the West Bank. The 5-year plan also aims to prevent any chance of division of the
city as part of any future peace deal with the Palestinian Authority.
“This decision comes as a result of the meeting of the Israel’s mini-cabinet, which was held in December last year. This meeting resulted in forming a ministerial committee which concluded there is a close
relationship between the deteriorating security situation in east of the city and the difficult economic situation,” the newspaper reported.
The ministerial committee recommended applying a five-year plan for alleged economic and social development of east Jerusalem. This task was assigned to the radical minister of the so-called “Jerusalem
Affairs and the Diaspora,” and the director general of the ministry Debir Kahane, who served a year and a
half as director general of the “El-aad” association that is concerned with strengthening Jewish presence
in Palestinian neighborhoods east of the city.
