Welcome
from the
President
Tim C. Thompson
IBSC President
President
The Commercial Bank
Honea Path, South Carolina
Welcome to the 52nd Annual Convention of the Independent Banks of South Carolina at Sea Pines Resort on
beautiful Hilton Head Island. We are happy you decided to “Come on Down to Harbour Town.” This year
has brought some exciting changes for IBSC. As you know, the Board made the decision to make a change in
the management of our Association. Teresa D. Taylor joined us in March and we are pleased to have an executive director with knowledge of our industry and association management.
The Convention Committee has been busy planning the agenda for this year’s convention. We have a great
slate of speakers designed to help our community banks grow and prosper. The Independent Banks of South
Carolina is the only trade association representing the best interest of the community banking industry, we
are the heart of community banking in South Carolina.
Mary and I hope you enjoy your stay at Sea Pines.
Sincerely,
Tim C. Thompson
