They had a woman with social anxieties who took a small, screeching monkey into a Walmart in
southwest Missouri, and was told by the employees she couldn't bring it into the store. The woman
filed a suit, but the judge dismissed it because the law doesn't provide for support monkeys.

I'd save my money and not bother with an attorney. There's a difference between a service dog and a
therapy animal. The credentials she presented on camera are printed off the internet. I know of a few
acquaintances who carry the same thing in the bag in which they carry their foo foo dog that is
nothing more than their "baby".

There is actually no such thing as "the proper credentials" I have a relative who simply got
her doctor to state on a prescription form that she needs a service animal for her seizure
disorder, and that satisfied her landlord.

Definition of service animals from the ada.gov website follows. You'll notice it does include
dogs who calm a person who has PTSD.
Service animals are defined as dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform
tasks for people with disabilities. Examples of such work or tasks include guiding people
who are blind, alerting people who are deaf, pulling a wheelchair, alerting and protecting a
person who is having a seizure, reminding a person with mental illness to take prescribed
medications, calming a person with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) during an
anxiety attack, or performing other duties. Service animals are working animals, not pets.
The work or task a dog has been trained to provide must be directly related to the person’s
disability. Dogs whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support do not
qualify as service animals under the ADA.

Most people with real service dogs call in advance of anywhere they are going hotels,
movies, etc. so they are expected.
