Each tour includes rewarding opportunities to learn more about
worldwide medical health care. AIMS tours are arranged for smaller,
more intimate groups, and, since we serve only medical professionals
and their families, you are assured of like-minded, congenial
companions, who share your sophisticated tastes and interests.
Well paced, with stimulating touring and led by expert guides,
AIMS programs also provide time to relax and explore on your own.
See some of the world’s stunning scenic highlights — visit major
historic and cultural sites as well as discovering the “off-the-beaten-track”
places. We offer Superior First Class or Deluxe hotels — delicious
meals including daily breakfast — along with some lunches
and dinners at carefully selected restaurants.
New destinations for 2010 include Gourmet France visiting the North
including the eastern region of Alsace and Strasbourg. A much requested
tour is Wonders of Turkey, highlighting Izmir & Istanbul. Our
Amsterdam, Bruges & Berlin is sure to be a favorite, as well as
Amazing South Africa. A special program this year features a cruise
through the Russian Waterways, and, another exciting addition to
our popular Galapagos tour, is Peru and the Amazon.

COMBINE THE PLEASURE OF TRAVEL AND
THE BENEFITS OF CONTINUING EDUCATION
AIMS TRAVEL BENEFITS
Specialized Tours Planned by Experts
for Sophisticated Professionals
AIMS tour programs are not the same as those prepackaged for the general public — they are customplanned with your interests and tastes in mind.
AIMS EDUCATIONAL BENEFITS
The Academy’s Goal
The goal of the Academy is to offer information
and insight into health care delivery systems and
diagnostic and treatment methods overseas and
compare them to U.S. and Canadian systems.
The Academy stays informed by visiting all types of
medical institutions in diverse cultural settings and
by maintaining an ongoing dialogue with colleagues
in foreign lands. As a result, the Academy provides
an educational experience that can only take place
in the particular destination, as an integral part of
the location’s culture.
The Academic Program
Upon registration, each participant in the academic
program will receive an AIMS paper detailing the
health and medical issues of the particular
destination and other pertinent information. An
all-inclusive professional registration fee of $300 is
charged and billed separately to each participant
to cover the costs of all professional activities,
including transportation to and from meetings,
honoraria for local hosts, meeting rooms,
equipment, administrative fees and any other
academic resources needed.
Professional Visits
Professional visits will take place at medical schools,
hospitals, clinics or other health facilities in urban
or rural areas or on board ships. Participants will
have the opportunity to observe patients and
professional staff at work with the socio-economic
climate as the backdrop to understanding.
Where possible, indigenous healing techniques and
practices will be explored.
Certificate of Attendance
AIMS tours include Category 2 certification.
Visits to hospitals, clinics and medical facilities
will focus on group discussions of vital health
concerns that relate to all professionals regardless
of specialties.
Participant's attendance will be monitored
during the educational component through sign-in
lists and a summary report prepared by the
designated Academic Leader. A Certificate of
Attendance will be issued upon completion and
the number of CME credits are determined by the
number of hours spent visiting medical facilities
and ad-hoc meetings among physicians on the tour.
Tax Deductibility
The issue of tax deductibility for educational and
professional study abroad is a complex question
that should be addressed to your own tax advisor.
Current United States tax law does not limit
the number of trips one may take or the cost
involved. Rather, the test of “reasonableness”
applies. Since AIMS has been involved in
sponsoring medical tours for many years, we
suggest that participants inform their tax advisors
that the medical aspects of our tours focus on the
health issues of the host countries and can only
take place overseas. The tours are based on a
concept similar to “people to people” programs.
Additionally, participants travel as members of
AIMS, an organization exclusively composed
of health professionals worldwide.
About Your Health
AIMS travelers should be in stable health and be confident of their ability to undertake
the tour chosen. Every AIMS tour includes substantial amounts of walking. Tour participants
who require assistance must be accompanied by an adult companion, capable of and
totally responsible for providing such assistance. Please consult our Reservation Staff if
you are in doubt about the physical requirements of a particular tour.

W
e recognize that very often
specific tour dates or destinations
in our brochure may not suit your
needs. Therefore, to serve your every
travel requirement, our Reservations
Staff will customize and/or design an
itinerary specially for you.
While a tour based on just 2 persons
might not be as cost effective as a group
tour, a program for a minimum of 4 or

for your family or friends at very
affordable ‘group’ prices. Don’t despair –
we’ll certainly endeavor to arrange a
tour just for 2 as well as the most
reasonable prices!
We have many sample land programs
to send you immediately and will price them
for your special requirements.

with your international air arrangements too!

are available to:
• Magical Morocco
• Eastern Europe: Poland,
Lithuania & The Baltics
and, Much Much More
We will be happy to mail –
or e-mail – a sample itinerary
for the above programs and
any other destination of
your choice.
Whether it be for just the 2 of you –
or a family size group – Private Car
