WHO’S WHO IN THE CAST AND CREW Julia Alexander (Lulu) is a junior at MHS. She’s been involved with musicals since middle school, including Grease, Alice in Wonderland, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and now Footloose. She is a member of Women’s Chorale and Concert Choir, and in middle school she was involved in AllCounty Chorus. Julia enjoys drawing and writing, but her passion is singing. She would like to thank her friends, family, and boyfriend for supporting her through rehearsals and watching her perform. James Cartwright (Ren) is a senior at Middletown High School. James is involved in many music programs here at Middletown, including the Chamber Singers, Men's Chorus, and Pipers. James also appeared in last year’s MHS Musical, playing the role of Graffiti Pete in In The Heights. James would like to thank all the teacher directors, dance instructors, the pit band, the cast and crew, and his family members for all the support and hard work to put this show together! CUT FOOTLOOSE! Raymond Case (Bickle) is a graduating senior who has taken part in four musicals. He played the role of Tobias Ragg in MHS’ Sweeney Todd as a sophomore in 2013. This following year he was cast as the Piragua Guy in MHS’ production of In The Heights, and he toured Europe in a Godspell production, in which he played the role of John the Baptist/ Judas. Raymond plans on attending college and majoring in musical theater. He would like to thank his family for supporting his dreams and aspirations, as well as Mr. Rau, Ms. Parise, and Mr. Schofield for all their hard work and patience in putting this musical together. Nick Culmone (Travis) is a student athlete who participates in numerous vocal ensembles here at MHS, including Chamber Singers, WHO’S WHO IN THE CAST AND CREW Men’s Chorus, and Pipers, and he trained with Sarah Rice and Carole Demas at a vocal master class in December. Along with vocal music he also plays French Horn in the MHS Wind Ensemble. Outside of music, he has played Ice Hockey for 13 years. He wishes to thank his parents, his brother, and his cousin Megan for all of the support they provide in everything he does. Aaron Dranoff (Principal Clark) is a junior at MHS, and this is his first theater production here at the high school. Aaron is a devoted member of the Men's Chorus, Concert Choir, and Pipers, and is excited to be playing the role of Principal Clark in this production of Footloose. Aaron would like to thank Mr. Rau, Mr. Schofield, and Ms. Parise for giving him this opportunity. He would also like to thank all of his friends for their continued support. Godfrey Fenton (Williard) is currently a senior at MHS. He’s been involved in MHS’ theater program since the beginning of time… or freshman year. He has a myriad of hobbies he uses to avoid doing homework: dancing, writing, trying to sing, and making music. Throughout the week, he avoids sleeping by participating in Pipers, Marching Band, NHS, Senior Enrichment, and many other after-school obligations. Godfrey hopes you enjoy the show because this will be his last one in high school. He appreciates his family, friends, and teachers. Christina Galarza (Ethel) is a junior at MHS, and this is her third year and third musical here. Christina started her acting in elementary school and continued it throughout the years of middle school and now high school. She was recently accepted into NYU’s summer program for musical theater, and she plans to pursue this discipline in col- WHO’S WHO IN THE CAST AND CREW lege. Christina is also in Chamber Singers, Women’s Choral, Pipers, Concert Choir, and the Middie C’s. She would like to thank all those who have supported her from the start. #Shelice Jacie Gonzalez (Rusty) is a senior at MHS. She enjoys singing, dancing, acting, and drawing. All four years of her high school career, she has been involved in both fall productions as well as musicals. She’s also involved in Chamber Singers, Women’s Chorale, Pipers, and a student run a cappella group. This year, she has the privilege of doing a wonderful musical with a wonderful cast and her closest friends. It’s bittersweet to think about, but she has always had fun. She thanks her family and she thanks her squad. Melanie Guerrero (Vi) is a 17 year old senior who has been performing since the age of 5, starting out in church and slowly participating in productions throughout elementary school. Growing up, she discovered her love for music, acting, dancing, and singing. She'd like to thank her friends, family, and teachers for their encouragement. Looking back at her freshman year, she can say she's improved a lot and has come very far. (Especially since her first embarrassing moment on stage when she forgot the lyrics to a song during the talent show...then ran off) Now, with the help of her peers, she feels more confident than ever. She will continue to go after what she loves, because nothing makes her happier. #ChickenNuggets Samuel Johnson (Coach Dunbar) is a ninth grader at MHS. Samuel appeared in many productions at Twin Towers Middle School. You may have seen him in their production of Seussical last year, playing the leading role of Horton, or in other roles in past musicals. Sam is thankful and honored to be directed by Mr. Rau. He also gives thanks to Ms. WHO’S WHO IN THE CAST AND CREW Parise, Mr. Schofield, Mr. Araque, and everyone else who sculpted him to be the man he is today. Sam hopes you enjoy watching him and the rest of the cast you are about to see in the Middletown High School production of Footloose. Arielle Knapp (Wendy Jo) is a senior at MHS. She is very anxious to perform her last musical in high school and is proud to say that it is Footloose. Arielle has enjoyed bringing Wendy Jo to life and hopes you enjoy the spunky character as much as she does. Arielle’s passion has always been musical theater and hopes to one day have a career on Broadway. Next year she will be attending the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City. Arielle would like to thank her friends and family for supporting her, especially Mr. Rau for always giving the extra push and reminding her and her classmates that no matter what, anything is possible. It’s truly amazing how much the words “you can do it…” change everything. Enjoy the show! #TheMixLivesOn Shavon Lloyd (Shaw) is a senior at MHS, where he is an active participant in its music department. He has participated in All-County Choirs and Bands, as well as Area All-State and All-State Choral Festivals. Shavon is the Student Director for Concert Choir, and recently made history in the district by initiating the very first studentrun and mixed a cappella group, “The Middie C's.” Shavon previously appeared on the MHS stage as Kevin in In the Heights, and Ken in The Musical Comedy Murders of the 1940s. This fall, Shavon will pursue a career in music education at The Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam. His goal is to inspire young musicians as much as his teachers have inspired him. He'd like to thank Mr. Rau, Mr. Schofield, Ms. Parise, and Mr. Araque for putting togeth- WHO’S WHO IN THE CAST AND CREW er such a great production. He'd also like to thank his friends and family for their support in his very last production at Middletown High School. Richard Nevarez-Guevara (Chuck) is a 17 year old junior at Middletown High School. This is his first lead role in an MHS musical, and he is very excited to have this opportunity. He has been involved in many play productions in Middletown, including various lead roles at Twin Towers Middle School. This year he received a lead role at MHS in the production of The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940. He is very grateful to receive another chance to expand his experience as an actor and further his career. He would like to thank Mr. Rau, Ms. Parise, and Mr. Schofield for all their hard work and for giving him the opportunity and support to play this part. He would also like to thank all of his friends and family for the love and support. He hopes you all enjoy the play. Brandon Pierre (Cowboy Bob; Cop) is an aspiring actor who has been in many musical and play performances throughout his middle school and high school career. While in London, England, he was coached by Peter Skylar. Brandon has had an amazing time with all of the cast and crew and can’t wait for another opportunity to perform with people he considers family. Christina Polichetti (Irene) is a senior here at MHS and is both excited and sad for her last high school musical. Some of her favorite school productions are Sweeney Todd, The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940 (Elsa Von Grossenkneuten), In the Heights, and Murder Me A lways (cab driver)—the play that started her high school journey in drama club. She’d like to thank Mr. Rau, Ms. Parise, and Mr. Schofield for allowing her to be part of this production. Thank you to her mom, WHO’S WHO IN THE CAST AND CREW dad, and brother for supporting her through high school. Most importantly, Christina would like to thank all of the people she’s met while doing these shows; they are like family, and she’s going to miss them. Ian Ritter (Wes Warnicker) is a junior at MHS. This is Ian's 4th musical production in the Middletown schools. In 6th grade he played Eugene in Grease, in grade 8th he played Grandpa Joe in Willy Wonka, and in 10th he was part of the ensemble for In The Heights. Ian sings in Men's Chorus and Pipers, and plays bass in the MHS Jazz Band and Percussion Ensemble. He is hoping to continue performing after high school. Ian is excited to be playing the character Wes Warnicker. He would like to thank his friends and family for keepin' it real, and Mr. Rau, Mr. Schofield, and Ms. Parise for giving him this opportunity and for their hard work making this production come to life. Justin Ruiz (Jeter) is a junior at MHS. This is his third production as a high school student, though he has been cast in numerous productions outside of high school, such as Beauty and the Beast Jr. Justin has had the opportunity to perform in great musical halls such as Carnegie Hall, Madison Square Garden, and also the world famous Apollo Theater. As a young child, Justin always liked to perform, and he is very excited to be a part of this great cast! He would like to thank his parents and Mr. Rau for always pushing him to do better. Enjoy the show! Amber Sanchez (Eleanor) is currently a junior, and this is her second production at MHS. Last year she was a featured dancer in the school’s production of In the Heights, and this year she received the role of Eleanor Dunbar in Footloose. She is also a member of the MHS Women's Chorale and previously the Concert Choir. Amber would like to thank her parents WHO’S WHO IN THE CAST AND CREW and teachers for always supporting her and pushing her to do her absolute best. Jewel Sanchez (Ariel) is a junior at MHS. She is very happy and appreciative to be apart of this year’s musical Footloose playing the part of Ariel. She is currently in Pipers and Chamber Singers. She played Vanessa in last year’s musical In The Heights and had the most amazing experience. She is very thankful to her peers, directors and family members who have supported her from the beginning and have remained constant. She hopes you like the show and have a wonderful time. Raelyn Santiago (Urleen) is an MHS senior who loves musical theater. She has been performing since the age of three and has appeared in numerous productions, including an off Broadway production of High School Musical. After high school, Raelyn will continue her musical theater train- ing at the prestigious American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City, and she hopes to one day star in a Broadway show. Raelyn would like to thank her family and friends for their support. Luke St. John (Kyle) is a 17 year old junior at Middletown High School. His years in high school are coming to an end, but the memories made here are something that he will always cherish. Luke has been involved in quite a few dance and music classes, which he loves to be a part of. He has also done several musical productions including Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory as Willy Wonka and In the Heights as part of the ensemble. His drive for performing song and dance on the stage is for the invigorating experience as well as providing entertainment for others. He has found much enjoyment throughout the years dancing and singing, and wishes to continue enjoying those WHO’S WHO IN THE CAST AND CREW aspects of his life. Cynthia Parise (choreographer) is thrilled to be choreographing her second musical for Middletown High School and to be teaching physical education and dance here at MHS! WHO’S WHO IN THE CAST AND CREW Nailah Airall (stage manager) is a senior at MHS who is enjoying her first year of being stage manager for the spring musical. She is sad to say that this is her last musical in high school, but she hopes for more in the future. Nailah is proud to be working with an amazing cast and crew that she is so proud to call friends, and the awesome directors of Footloose and wishes them all the best.
