The authors of the present papers endeavour to inform the public on the annual catches and changes in the number of lynxes during the last historical period of development of various countries as well as on the degree and forms of its conservation. Some of the papers enumerate the scientific materials of the local lynx populations, deposited in scientific institutions of the respective countries. The contemporaneous situation of the lynx in various countries is illustrated by maps, diagrams and tables. At the end of each paper there is a list of important literature concerning the lynx in each of the countries.
