PETER AUTO 2015: FORZA ITALIA!
Season 2015 historic racing by Peter Auto looks again full of novelties. Through well-known appointments, but
also two new ones in historic cars. This year, the most beautiful European circuits are scheduled, and a new
route for the Tour Auto Optic 2ooo.
THE CLASSICS
To start with the Tour Auto Optic 2ooo, elder of Peter Auto events, which will celebrate its 24th edition from 20th
to 25th April. Spa-Classic, of which reputation has grown over the first four editions, will run from 22nd to 24th
May. The Grand Prix de l’Age d’Or, taken last year by Peter Auto who had been the promoter in the 80s, will be
held from 5th to 7th June.
2014 has been synonymous with diversification for Peter Auto with an innovative concept: Chantilly Arts &
Elegance Richard Mille. Dedicated to the art and elegance, Peter Auto wanted to bring the event internationally
alongside the Tour Auto and Le Mans Classic was a great success in its first edition. Celebrating the theme of
automotive competition, the French Art of Living with an elegant Sunday in the country, mundane and friendly,
Chantilly Arts & Elegance Richard Mille will take place on 5th and 6th September. The last race of the season will
take place, as always, in the Provençal climate of the Paul Ricard circuit during the Dix Mille Tours du Castellet,
from 2nd to 4th October.
Le Mans Classic biennial event recognized by observers as one of the largest and most prestigious of its kind in the
world. The dates of the 8th edition were revealed at Rétromobile: 8th, 9th and 10th July 2016.
Finally, to complete the offers by Peter Auto series comprising of Classic Endurance Racing, Sixties' Endurance and
Trofeo Nastro Rosso- the Heritage Touring Cup grid was formed in 2014. It will be back on track in 2015 with ever
more engaged in the programme.
THE NEWCOMERS
To solid values of calendar 2015 Peter Auto will intercalate two Italian novelties. Great price of land, rallies and
major road races, the transalpine peninsula is also home to automotive brands among the most legendary.
Therefore it is not surprising that Peter Auto organizes two events in Italy this year. To start with Vallelunga-Classic
replacing Imola-Classic, this will launch the 2015 season Peter Auto from 27th to 29th March. A further new
appointment called Monza-Historic scheduled from 10th to 12th July will take place at the historic Autodromo’s.

VALLELUNGA-CLASSIC

LA DOLCE VITA
Racing in Italy always provides a special emotion. Homeland of the best sports brands - Alfa Romeo, Ferrari,
Lamborghini, Lancia, Maserati ... - authentic automobile jewel in the collective imagination. Earth of anthology
circuits, Monza, Imola, Mugello ... - arenas of the finest mechanical games. Cradle of a certain way of life and an
ancient cultural heritage, Italy had to be on the Peter Auto calendar. After Imola-Classic in 2012 and 2013,
Mugello-Classic in 2014, the 2015 season will host Vallelunga-Classic.
The Autodromo Vallelunga also named after the Italian pilot ’’'Piero Taruffi’’ '(1906-1988) is located 32 km North of
Rome, in the Valle del Treja near Lake Bracciano. Originally created on a horse racing oval, this track knows its first
motorcycle and automobile races in 1951. The financing of the Automobile Club of Rome and the Italian Federation
engenders a paved route of 1 746 meters in 1957. Then its length was doubled in 1961 and the new track
inaugurated in 1963 with the Rome Grand Prix Formula 1.
Then, in 2005 the latest modification extended the track to its current development of 4 100 meters. This new
configuration allows it to become the FIA-certified test circuit and host numbers of F1 teams: Ferrari, Williams,
Toyota, Honda holds the lap record with the British driver Anthony Davidson 1'12 ''80. In other words, a path on
which the competitors will enjoy to compete.
Then, once the competitions are over, everyone can taste the flavors of the Roman cuisine and remarkable
architecture of this historical city, former capital of the Roman Empire.

AUTODROMO VALLELUNGA "PIERO TARUFFI"
Vallelunga was built as a sand 1.102 miles (1.8 km) oval in 1959. From 1963 the circuit held the Rome Grand Prix,
and in 1967 a new loop was added when the track became the property of the Automobile Club d'Italia (ACI).
Further refurbishment was undertaken in 1971. The track is named for the famous Italian racing driver Piero
Taruffi.
In August 2004 work started on a 1 kilometre (0.6 mi) extension to the track, bringing the track up to its current
length. The new configuration has received homologation from the FIA as a test circuit, being used by various
Formula One teams. The circuit has also hosted the 6 Hours of Vallelunga endurance event.

GRID BY PETER AUTO
CLASSIC ENDURANCE RACING
With full starting grids - some 50 cars among which Porsche 935, BMW M1, Lola T70, Ferrari 512 BBLM - and
drivers wishing to honor the fabulous history of their machines, the show is guaranteed!
C.E.R echoes a period - 1966 to 1979 - when endurance racing was reigning over motorsport. A glorious period of
the Ford GT40, Porsche 910, Ferrari 512… and their drivers: Jacky Ickx, Henri Pescarolo, Gérard Larrousse… Their
playground was not limited to the extraordinary 24 Hours of Le Mans, but spread over the greatest European
circuits in the scope of the World Sports Car Championship. Classic Endurance Racing, which revives the passion of
Endurance racing, is much more than a historical reminder.
HERITAGE TOURING CUP
The brand new Heritage Touring Cup was born from the success met by the Spa Endurance Tourisme in 2013. We
must also keep in mind that Le Mans is for sure the Endurance Mecca, but Spa is definitely the Touring cars'
one…
The Heritage Touring Cup echoes the glorious times (1966-1984) of the European Touring Car Championship
(ETCC). The manufacturers battling for glory with BMW and their 3.0 CSL or 635csi, Ford with the Escort and Capri
as well as Jaguar with the XJ12C Broadspeed followed by the TWR XJ-S to name a few. The Heritage Touring Cup, an
era and a style promising some great track action.
SIXTIES’ ENDURANCE
The Sixties’ Endurance, for pre-63 Sports and pre-66 GTs, offers a wonderful occasion to admire all icons of the
world championship at the time.
Strong endurance highlight, these two-hour races put together a wide range of cars (E-Type Jaguars, Ferrari 250
GTs, Porsches 911) for both the period 1950 to 1965, and the capacity. One of Peter Auto characteristic features is,
in addition to the traditional classification, a weighted classification which favours the smaller cubes and older cars
in front of their powerful and younger challengers such as the AC Cobras, undoubtedly more efficient.
TROFEO NASTRO ROSSO
The Trofeo Nastro Rosso, born in 2010, is dedicated to Italian Sports and GTs from the late fifties until 1965.
Favouring the quality of its cars and fair play on the track, the Trofeo offers a unique occasion to see again the
golden age icons of the great transalpine cars (Maseratis 300s, Ferrari 250 GT Berlinettas, Alfa Romeos TZ) and
clearly intends to be the meetings' highlight. The Trofeo see - on invitation only - some handpicked challengers
(Aston Martins DB GT, DB4 GT Zagato, Porsche Carrera Abarth).
