Leg Drainage Bag
Overnight Drainage Bag
STEP 1:
Wash your hands with
soap and water, or hand
sanitiser, and apply
gloves.
STEP 1:
Wash your hands with
soap and water, or hand
sanitiser, and apply
gloves.
STEP 2:
Attach the bag to the
leg, with the connector
pointing up and the
outlet pointing down.
STEP 2:
Attach the overnight
drainage bag to the
connection at the bottom
of the leg bag.
STEP 3:
Make sure that the
drainage outlet is in the
closed position.
STEP 3:
Open the leg bag outlet
to allow drainage from
the leg bag into the
overnight drainage bag
during the night.
STEP 4:
Remove the protective
cap from the connector
and connect directly to
the catheter or tubing.
STEP 4:
To empty – close the
outlet on the leg bag,
disconnect the overnight
drainage bag, and drain
carefully, then discard.
STEP 5:
To empty - hold the
bag steady, and drain
carefully by opening the
outlet at the bottom of
the bag.
