GIRL SCOUT LAW I will do my best to be honest and fair, friendly and helpful, considerate and caring, courageous and strong, and responsible for what I say and do, and to respect myself and others, respect authority, use resources wisely, make the world a better place, and be a sister to every Girl Scout. GIRL SCOUT MISSION Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. Dear Friends of Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia, When you invest in a girl, you change the world! Your volunteer or community support, donations and encouragement give Girl Scouts across Georgia the resources they need to make their world a better place. Last year, 21 Historic Georgia Girl Scouts earned the highest award in Girl Scouting, the Gold Award. Each girl addressed an issue that was important to her and to her community. Ashley B. educated teens and adults about the dangers of texting and driving; Lena chronicled the life stories of veterans in her county on DVD; Sarah educated her community about the need for foster parents; Nicole introduced school children to dance and Ashley S. instituted a life jacket check-out system at a state park. confidence and character. We do strive to make the world a better place. In the process, we learn invaluable skills and life lessons, and we always manage to make amazing friends along the way.” Yes, spending time with a Girl Scout is inspiring. They simply stand out. Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia wants to ensure that girls have every opportunity to succeed in whatever they choose to do. We’re honored to be part of a movement that touches the future through the lives of the wonderful girls in Historic Georgia. We invite you to join us in our mission. When a girl succeeds, we all succeed. Each girl is changing the world. When you support Girl Scouts, you change the world, too – one girl at a time. You play a role in their leadership development and ultimately in their success. Our alumnae often reflect on the impact of Girl Scouting: “I love everything that Girl Scouts stands for,” said Lindsay, a longtime Girl Scout volunteer. “I learned how to start a fire, change the oil in my car and I even learned how to climb a mountain, all because of Girl Scouts.
