ICTFL is now in the process of setting up online membership renewal and conference registration_with a credit card. VOLUME 22, NUMBER 2 Happy February! The ICTFL Board of Directors has been hard at work as Illinois prepares to host the Central States Conference on the Teaching of Foreign Languages, March 19-21 at the Hyatt Regency Chicago. Leann Wilcoxen and Todd Bowen, the Local Arrangements Committee Chairs, have been working especially hard to make the conference a success. I hope to see you at the conference. Please join other ICTFL members for a group picture with all Illinois attendees immediately following the Keynote Address. March also brings National Foreign Language Week. National Foreign Language Week is March 2-8. This year’s theme is “Many Hands, Many Voices, One World.” If you are still looking for ideas for National Foreign Language Week, a few of the Regional Directors share some of their favorite ideas in this issue. MARY SLIDER Region Five Global Fest is March 13-14 in Urbana, Illinois at Urbana High School. This two day International Festival features language immersion opportunities, art, dance, performance, culture, presentations and food from all over the world. This event attracts over 800 students every year. JOE SCANAVINO Region Three Illinois College in Jacksonville,IL sponsored a Mardi Gras Celebration dedicated to high school Spanish, French and German students and teachers. Run by Illinois College students, the event includes exhibits, food and more representing various world cultures. April 2—Southern Illinois University Foreign Language Day on campus.
