RemovetheMAFsensorconnectorfromtheoutletoftheOEMairbox.
LoosenbandclampsontheOEMintaketube.Unclipthetopoftheairboxand
removetopfromtube.Itshouldwigglefree.Afterremovalofairboxtop,rotatethe
inlettubedownafewdegrees.
Removethebottomoftheairboxbypullingup.Theairboxisheldinplacewith
frictionontherubberconnectors.Justpullhardandslow.Nothingneedstobe
disconnectedorunscrewed.
Withairboxremoved,youwillnowremovetheupperconnectortomakeroomfor
theGruppe-Mintakesupportbracket.
Notethesmallslotontheconnectorbase.Usingasmallflatbladescrewdriverin
thisslot,pryuptheconnector.
Aftertheconnectorisrotated90degrees,itmayberemoved.
RemovethetwoTorxscrewsfromtheMAFsensorandcarefullyremoveandset
aside.
Now,wewillremovethewovenmetalmeshscreenusedtosmoothairflowfromthe
OEMairbox.First,removetheTorxscrewontheoutsideofthebox.
Next,pryaroundedgesofthebuilt-infilterinthetopoftheairboxtoexposethe
inside.
Removeplastictubeandpushoutthewiremeshinsert.
Usemetalspacersalignedwiththescrewholesunderthemetalretainingringto
accommodatetheslopedbottomofthemetalmeshsurround(bottomshown).
AttachtometalinlettubeadapterwithboltsBandCandnuts.NotethatthelongerC
boltisusedtoaccommodatethesupportbracket.
JointheMAFtubetothemetalinletadapterwiththesilicontubeusingthesupplied
bandclamps.Foraesthetics,youmaywishtopositionanyletteringonthesilicon
tubedownandpositionbandclampssothesmoothsidewillfaceupwheninstalled.
Replacetheexistinggreeno-ringontheMAFsensorwiththethickero-ring
supplied.ItmayrequiresomeextraforcetofullyseattheMAFsensorintothe
aluminumsensorspacerbeforescrewingitintotheMAFtube.
Attachingthesupportbracketrequiresholdinganutandwasherunderthesmall
metallipwheretheairboxwaspreviouslyattached.Thisrequiressomefinesse.A
towelcanbeplacedinthisareatotrapthenutandwasheriftheyshouldfall.The
bracketisheldinplacewithboltA.Thecarbonfiberintakeisjoinedtothemetal
adaptersbyhighqualitybandclamps.Theintakeshouldbeplacedroughlyinto
positionbeforemountingthesupportbracket.
Thisphotoshowsthebracketattachedbeforetheintakewasmounted,and
theintakewouldnotfit.Don’trepeatthismistake.Attachtheintakeloosely
beforeconnectingthesupportbracket.
ReattachtheMAFsensorconnector,adjusttheintakeposition,andtightenband
clampsaroundtheintakeusingthesuppliedallenwrench.Tightenbandclamps
aroundOEMinlettubes.
