Decisions made in business can often take months or years to demonstrate results. On the battlefield, however, decisions that the leaders at Gettysburg made took mere minutes to show their consequences. When studying the three day battle, it becomes clear that the immediate and dramatic consequences made at Gettysburg perfectly encapsulate traits needed to make the people in your organization more effective. REVIEWS FROM OUR CLIENTS EXAMPLE: Lee’s orders to Ewell on July 1 are discretionary; he ordered Ewell to take a critical terrain feature “if practicable.” Ewell found it not to be practicable and did not advance. If Lee had been less ambiguous in his order the Union Army would likely have been denied it most important asset.
