A former riverside warehouse, it became one of London’s leading film studios in the 1930s before being taken over by the BBC in the 1950s. Riverside Studios will be one of London’s leading cultural hubs once more, hosting an independent theatre, cuttingedge television studios and cinema. Among its best known films was The Seventh Veil (1945). THE STORY O F riverside studios Set to reopen in 2017, Riverside Studios will continue to be a centre of excellence, providing an environment for theatre, cinema, television and a national media service to arts organisations from around Great Britain. It will remain an artistic and social asset to the Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham, with its wonderful views looking out over the Thames and Hammersmith Bridge.
