Roadmap for your arrival in Nantes
To go to downtown (Place Commerce)
AND YOU ARE ARRIVING FROM NANTES-ATLANTIQUE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Leave the airport building and choose your transportation system :
OPTION 1)
Tan Air shuttle to « Commerce » ; stop at « Commerce ».
The Tan Air Service is a special bus shuttle from the airport to the TGV station (stop 'Gare SNCF sud')
and the heart of the city (stop 'Commerce'). 17 Departures from Monday to Friday, 10 departures
Saturday, and 7 departures from Sunday afternoon/evening (The new timetable will be available the 29th
of March). Travel time: 15- 20 minutes. Fare: €6,20. Buy your ticket on board, at the shuttle driver. This
ticket is valid 1h on all the TAN (Nantes public transportation) network. Do not forget to validate your
ticket ("composter") in entering your ticket in the validation machine.
OPTION 2)
BUS line 37 to Croix Jeannette ; stop at « Neustrie ».
Connexion with Tram line 3 to «Marcel Paul » ; stop at « Commerce »
The bus number 37 is a regular line stopping outside Terminal Hall 1 and will take you to tramway line 3
at « Neustrie » stop. Then, take the tramway (departure every 7 minutes from Mo to Sa, every 20
minutes Sunday) which will drop you in the heart of the city (stop 'Commerce'). Return journeys every 20
minutes from Monday to Saturday, every hours Sunday. Buy your ticket at the shuttle driver (1,30 €,
valid 1 hour) and do not forget to validate the ticket ("composter") in entering it in the validation machine.
OPTION 3)
Taxi to your hotel
The taxi station is on the esplanade opposite Hall 1 and a fleet of vehicles take passengers from the
airport to the Nantes urban area. If you arrive in Hall 4, you will find a taxi shelter where you can call for
a taxi to pick you up on the esplanade. Fares from the airport to the city centre range from €25 - €35.
To go to downtown (Place Commerce)
AND YOU ARE ARRIVING FROM NANTES RAILWAY STATION
Leave the station building in following « exit North (Sortie Nord) ». If your hotel is not located around the
railway station, you will find the taxi station and the tramway station is just in front of the railway station
(north side).
OPTION 1)
Tram line 1 to « François Mitterrand » ; stop at « Commerce ».
The tramway (departure every 5 minutes from Monday to Saturday ; every 20 minutes Sunday) which
will drop you in the heart of the city (stop 'Commerce'). Buy your ticket at the automatic distributor (1,30
€, valid 1 hour) and do not forget to validate the ticket when you are boarding in the tramway, in entering
it in the validation machine. NB : it is not possible to buy a ticket on board ! The automatic distributor
available at the tram station is guiding you only in French, but it is very easy to survive to this exam. (1)
select « ticket unité » (1,30€), (2) pay your ticket with coins (the machine gives the change), (3) confirm
your order.
OPTION 2)
Taxi to your hotel
Taxi stations are both side of the railway station. Fares from the railway station to the city centre range
from €8 - €15.

Tram line 2 to « Orvault Grand Val» ; stop at « Michelet-Sciences ».
The tramway (departure every 7 minutes from Monday to Saturday ; every 20 minutes Sunday) which
will drop you on the front of the main gate of the Faculty of Science (stop 'Michelet-Sciences'). Buy your
ticket at the automatic distributor (1,30 €, valid 1 hour) and don’t forget to validate the ticket when you
are boarding in the tramway, in entering it in the validation machine. NB : Not possible to buy a ticket on
board ! The automatic distributor is guiding you only in French, but it is very easy to survive to this exam.

OPTION 2)
Bus line 52 to « Haluchère» ; stop at « Michelet ».
The bus number 52 is a regular line from downtown which will drop you on the front of the main gate of
the Faculty of Science (stop 'Michelet'). Buy your ticket at the bus driver (1,30 €, valid 1 hour) and don’t
forget to validate the ticket ("composter") in entering it in the validation machine.
To go to EMO’09 (and PM2O) conference location
AND YOU ARE IN FRONT OF THE MAIN GATE OF THE FACULTY OF SCIENCE
When you are entering on the campus, follow the signs "EMO'09". In a short, go to straight
("RU/restaurant" building on the right, "IEMN" building on the right, library on the left). After the library,
turn left and follow the street. The conference venue is in the second building on your right (building IUP
Biologie-Chimie). The main entry is in front of you. Enter in the building, the conference staff is waiting
for you.

AND YOU ARE ARRIVING FROM « GARE SNCF » (RAILWAY STATION SOUTH SIDE)
The navibus (departure every hours from the railway station, Monday to Friday, at 10:00 11:00 12:00
14:00 15:00 16:00 17:00 18:00 19:00) is the regular boat shuttle connecting the railway station and the
campus of the Faculty of Science (stop 'Tortière') after a trip of 20 minutes. Buy your ticket at the
automatic distributor (1,30 €, valid 1 hour) before your trip. TAN is delivering an unique ticket at 1,30€
usable for tram, bus, busway and navibus. Do not forget to validate the ticket when you are boarding in
the shuttle, in entering it in the validation machine. The departures from « Tortière » to « Gare SNCF »
