The sulphur captured from the exhaust is converted to suhphuric acid in the wash water, is diluted, (Open Loop) and disposed of overboard. Or converted to sulphites (Closed loop) and discharged overboard. The oils and particulate matter (PAH and Turbidity) must be cleaned from the wash water and stored as sludge to be disposed of ashore © 2015 Ionada Confidential and Proprietary No fresh water required No effluent overboard Sodium salts collected and disposed of ashore © 2015 Ionada Confidential and Proprietary Our Partners © 2015 Ionada Confidential and Proprietary Membrane Scrubber is modular - no need to run piping through engine room spacings, casings and back down to overboard discharges Self contained in the casing the Membrane Scrubber 10m has a much smaller footprint than closed or open loop systems Closed and open loop scrubber require 100’s m of pipe, wiring, passing through multiple decks, requiring large amounts of fresh water or even greater amounts of seawater. 30m Soot and PM cleaning system Pumps, wash water monitoring and O/B discharge system © 2014 Ionada Confidential and Proprietary Owner Vessel Name Build Date Retrofit / New Build Ship Type DWT Drydock Location CSL BAIE ST.
