The Rix maritime tradition continues to this day with a fleet of coastal dry cargo vessels trading in the North and Baltic Sea. Rix Shipping Ltd also own four coastal tankers and three estuarial barges, all double hulled. Originally established over 100 years ago, Rix is now a fifth generation family business with a heritage that ensures continued independence, pride in the past and a stable reliable future. Hepworth Shipyard is also based on the River Humber; they are a specialist builder, converter and repairer of small to medium sized vessels. Several of the Rix Shipping barges were built and converted at the shipyard.
