Your Tourist Office Team, St. Anton am Arlberg arl.rock Sport & Climbing Centre Walking Trails 1 Stanzertaler loop (18-km round trip): A relatively flat walk along the edge of the river, through Pettneu toward Schnann. On particularly cold days, a spectacular natural phenomenon can be experienced here. The older bushes alongside the Rosanna become covered in ice crystals that sparkle beautifully in the sunlight. 2 Gallery (3 km): Follow the “Rosannaweg“ path, then head slightly uphill to the ventilation shaft of the road tunnel. Fantastic views over the St. Jakob area can be enjoyed from this vantage point. Various winter walking trails can be joined from here. 3 Verwall (10-km round trip): Take the old “Arlbergstraße” street to the Hotel Mooserkreuz, heading steeply uphill (we recommend using the ski bus to the end of the old Arlbergstraße). From there, on almost flat terrain you have the possibility of walking to the Rasthaus Ferwall (roadhouse) or enjoying the panoramic walking trail around Verwall lake. This walk may easily become a highlight of your winter holiday. “Kunstmeile”section to the cable car station in Nasserein. Cross the “Dorfstraße“ street. Before reaching the petrol station, walk along the “Auweg” and through the underpass. Then cross the Rosanna river and walk along the “Friedhofsweg”path until you reach the railway station. Pass the arl.rock, cross the bridge and walk back to the village centre of St. Anton. Brief descents and ascents. The St. Christoph sun terrace is a good meeting point for Alpine skiers. Sleigh Rides 2 Verwall Trail (10 km), Medium (A2/B2) Nine-Pin Bowling – Disco Bowling Great fun for the entire family! Disco nine-pin bowling in the groovy sports lounge is a special highlight. Tennis and Multi-Purpose Hall The multi-purpose hall can be used for tennis, volleyball, squash, table tennis, etc. SQUASHBOX, CLIMBING AND BOULDERING 920 m2 Total Climbing Area Featuring approx. 100 indoor and outdoor routes. Degree of difficulty: 3–9 (French numerical grade). Separate areas for beginners, advanced learners and experts. Bouldering 130 m2 Free bouldering or bouldering along routes with various degrees of difficulty. Experts may boulder into the grotto. Via Ferrata 18-metre high wall features 2 routes and the possibility to rappel from the roof. 4 Around St. Anton am Arlberg (2.5 km): A very easy loop that presents St. Anton am Arlberg from various perspectives. 5 Rodelhütte – tobogganing hut (7-km round trip): Walk along the old railroad line to the cable car station in Nasserein, then head steeply uphill to the end of the “Nassereinerstraße” street. From here it is a quite strenuous uphill ascent (over 200 metres in elevation) to the toboggan run. Fantastic views over St. Anton am Arlberg and the “Stanzertal” valley can be enjoyed from here. 6 Jakobusweg (7-km round trip): The constant up and down hill sections are what makes this walk interesting. Proceed on the sunny side of the “Stanzertal” valley, parts of which follow along the famous St. James‘ pilgrimage trail. Connecting with other trails is possible. 7 Ganderau (3 km): Plain walking path around St. Jakob. 8 Pettneu via Vadiesen (12-km round trip): Follow the “Jakobusweg” trail to St. Jakob, walking along the “Dorfstraße” street to the “Untergand“ area and to the neighbouring village of Pettneu. To return, walk along the “Rosannaweg“ path directly beside the Rosanna river. 9 St. Christoph (2.5 km): Ridgeway at 1800 m. The cross country trail starts after about 200 metres and leads through the scenic Verwall Valley and around Verwall lake. The trail is challenging and features irregular terrain. In narrow sections where there is only one classic trail, we kindly ask skaters to be considerate. 11 Kunstmeile (1 km): From the ARLBERG-well.com centre to the cable car station in Nasserein. 12 “Planie” loop (2.5 km): Walk from the Tourist Office through the park, passing the ARLBERG-well.com centre and along the Advance booking necessary: Wachter Michaela, tel. +43 (0) 676 84 16 26 884 The trail begins at the “Wertstoffhof“ in St. Anton and runs slightly downhill along the riverside. Until reaching Flirsch, there is access to all the villages in our holiday region along the trail. Please note that there is a hidden descent after the first kilometre of the trail! Additional Toboggan Runs Strengen: Egger – Weiher – Verill, 1km Flirsch: Kohlwald, 1 km – floodlit Schnann: 200 m – floodlit 4 Ganderau Trail (3 km), Easy (D1) Easy trail, ideal for beginners. Starting points: east of Hotel Tirolerhof or at the fire station in St. Jakob. 5 Reit Trail (2 km), Easy (E1) Easy, 2-km loop, situated in the East of Pettneu with access to the Stanzertal trail. It is an ideal practice round. 6 Pofel Trail (1.5 km), Easy (E1) The trail (irregular terrain) is located between the Rosanna river and the highway, east of the wellness park in Pettneu. Sunshine Subscription Arlberg This weekly pass for guests without winter sports equipment is valid for the main lifts and cable cars on 7 consecutive days. Enjoy the Arlberg mountain scenery! Group rentals at the cable car station in Nasserein only (from 7:15 pm). Toboggan return at Robi‘s Rodelstall, located at the end of the toboggan run. The toboggan run may be used during the day as well as in the evenings. Pedestrians can hire toboggans from the Rodelhütte at any time. Thermal flight: Total duration: approx. 2 hours Flight time: approx. 30 minutes, maximum altitude: 2600 –2800 m. Thoroughly recommended for flying enthusiasts wishing to experience the up-current winds and flying in thermals – enjoy a completely different perspective. Thermal flights are challenging and governed entirely by the weather. Availability according to the prevailing conditions from mid February onwards, from approx. 12:00 pm. Panorama flight: Total duration: approx. 2 –2.5 hours Flight time: approx. 1 hour, maximum altitude: 2800 –3300 metres. Recommended for sporting enthusiasts with some flying experience. This ultimate altitude flight requires perfect weather conditions and is not possible every day. We advise you to wear warm clothes! Start times: Panorama flights require ideal weather conditions and are particularly challenging for the pilots. Available from March onwards, from approx. 12:00 pm. It runs parallel to the cross country trail. 10 Reit (2 km): Sunny, flat loop on the outskirts of Pettneu. Toboggan Fun at the New Gampen Restaurant Every Tuesday and Thursday from 7:45 pm onwards. Bouldering at all levels of difficulty is possible for beginners and experts. The wall is great platform for training in winter and is ideal for children and beginners as there is hardly any risk of injury due to a 30-cm thick protective mat.
