Small Business Development Fund Application Form STAR T UP BUSINESS GR ANT PR OGR AM Eligibility checklist To be eligible for a grant under the Start Up Business Grant Program you must: •b e starting or purchasing a small business, defined as employing less than 20 full time equivalent staff; •n ot be majority owned by a business entity that employs more than 20 full time equivalent staff; • c arry on the majority or your trading activity and have your trading premises located in the local government areas of City of Playford, City of Salisbury or City of Port Adelaide Enfield; • agree to complete, or have completed, an approved business fundamentals training course (or equivalent) • be able to enter into a legally binding funding agreement with the South Australian Government; • be willing to provide information and data, including financial information as required; • commit to the required financial co-contribution; • not have operated a business in the past 12 months. ‘Operated a business’ is defined as being a sole trader, in a partnership, or a company director or shareholder, with respect to a trading business that has an ABN (regardless of whether that business is still registered or trading). As per the Small Business Development Fund Guidelines, applications will be assessed against the following merit criteria: • The practicality and achievability of the business proposal/plan • The capacity and capability, including management capability, of the applicant. Business Plan – mandatory attachment Please attach a Business Plan to your application. Your application will not be considered if the Business Plan is not included. The business plan should be no more than 4 pages, and include: • details of your business start-up or purchase plans • a breakdown of the start-up or purchase costs • a 12 month cash-flow forecast. Evidence of matching funding If your application is approved, you will need to submit evidence of your matched funding, such as a bank statement or finance approval letter, before you can receive your grant funds.
