PAVILION & CYN Use of similar materials reinforce the visual connection between the Cyn and the building. Cyn Armature Copper Pavilion Details Cyn Platform Dark Reflective Glass The pavilion and cyn are meant to lie on a North South axis. The Cyn is oriented southward for maximum sun exposure. The pavilion's design intentionally limits light from the south to create a cave like feeling reminiscent of the Gungywamp light chamber. The restricted view reinforces the view of the cyn, thereby creating a more effective distraction. Pavilion Exterior Cyn Lens Clear Glass Wood Stone Pavilion Elevator Cyn Burn Surface Pavilion Floors and book cases Cyn Stepping Stones Pavilion Boulders The pavilion is a comfortable place for many activities but, its primary purpose is as a place to view the cynosure. Aligned orientation and shared materials strengthen the connection between the two structures. By reflecting the forest, the black glass of the pavilion conceals the building. Similar glass around the cyn makes the viewer more aware of the subject matter being reflected. The manmade copper armature of the cyn is a poignant contrast to the untouched surroundings. Copper's ever changing patina makes it an excellent material to convey the concept of marking time to observers of the cyn. GUNGYWAMP
