Amakusa - Eastern Area
Amakusa - Eastern Area Himedo, Ryugatake, Kuratake, Sumoto, Goshoura Scenic sunrise view of Ryugatake Peak brings out a beautiful range of colors and hues. Ryugatake Peak(470m)has been designated a national cultural property for its scenic beauty. This observation spot commands a panoramic view of numerous islands large and small in the Yatsushiro Sea as well as views of Yatsushiro and of Fugendake Peak across the sea in Unzen. The poet Noguchi Ujo wrote of the beautiful scene,“A single glance from Ryugatake Peak will catch Mt. Aso, Unzen, and far Kirishima”. Eastern Amakusa has many spots of curiosity and wonder ‒ dinosaurs, kappa, mysterious giant rocks, the largest Ebisu statue in Japan, and beautiful star-filled skies. el Modrse u Co Swimming Beaches Visiting Spots of Wonder ❶ Kappa Trail ❷ Giant Ebisu God Statue of Kuratake (App.10min./5km) ❺ Yadake Giants Rocks ❹ Myui Astronomical Observatory (App.30min./12km) (App.30min./15km) Ariake-machi 266 Shiratake Forest Park Camping Matsushima-machi Yadake Giant Rocks ❺ ●Kuroshima Beach D-6 D-7 D-7 D-7 Kojima Beach Kojima Park Camp Site Kuratake Mountaintop Bungalow ❶ Kappa Roman Kan Sumoto-machi 283 Giant Ebisu Statue of Kuratake ❷ 3725-1 Baba, Sumoto-machi, Amakusa City Tel: 0969-54-5526 Other Camp Sites C-7 D-7 D-7 D-6 E-5 Activities Ryugatake Mountaintop Park/Camp Site ❸ Tanasoko's Stonewall Ryugatake-machi Kuratake-machi Ebisu Tea House 266 266 Ebisu Beach ❹ Myui Astronomical Observatory Takado Beach Goshoura's traditional Drive-Net fishing Hinoshima Island Dining and Shopping Facilities for starry sky observation Fossil-collecting activities Ebisu Tea House Yatsushiro Sea (Shiranuhi Sea) Especially recommended: Tea and noodles and dressing made from vitamin-rich shimon potatoes and rice牧島 toppings. ●Tenma-sen Boat Used to ferry cargo to an offshore ship.
