The QDART collection includes several tools: QUALCOMM Manufacturing Support Library (QMSL™), QUALCOMM Radio Control Tool (QRCT™), QUALCOMM Sequence Profiling Resource (QSPR™), and a collection of subsystem test libraries and extensible test tree files (XTTs). The QDART collection is shown in Figure 2-1. It provides an ANSI C-style interface to the PC client to communicate with the mobile for the Factory Test Mode (FTM) API transaction. Released - Internal Use Only The QMSL library operates in two modes: QPST – In this mode, QMSL requires QPST to be installed. QMSL will use QPST as a transport layer for mobile communication. QMSL acts as a client of QPSTServer.exe. Standalone – In this mode, QMSL does not require QPST to be installed. QMSL uses its own transport layer for mobile communications. In this case, QMSL will own the COM port resources. No other applications, including QPST, can access the COM port or virtual COM port resources. 2.1.2 QRCT QRCT is a Windows toolkit designed to control a QUALCOMM ASIC-based mobile device, such as a Subscriber Unit Reference (SURF™) design or Form Factor Accurate (FFA) in the AMSS FTM mode. The QRCT application requires DMSS or AMSS software with FTM built into it. The FTM mode can be enabled through the QRCT GUI. 2.1.3 QSPR QSPR is a PC tool that demonstrates QCT-designed automation sequences, particularly RF calibration and nonsignaling system tests, as executed on common test equipment. QSPR is a GUI that displays the test sequence contained in an XTT. The test sequences provided cover typical RF calibration or nonsignaling test scenarios. The test steps that make up the sequence are contained in subsystem DLLs. Once the execution starts, the time profiling information can be viewed via the GUI subsystem DLLs that perform the communication to the test equipment via GPIB and to the mobile via QMSL calls. 80-VB981-1 A 9 QUALCOMM Proprietary Released - Internal Use Only 1 3 Installation and Configuration This chapter provides information needed to install QDART applications, including the operating system and hardware requirements. 2 Released - Internal Use Only 3 4 3.1 Requirements 5 3.1.1 Hardware 8 Table 3-1 describes the required hardware. This information is used by each subsystem test to account for cable loss. 8 This file is located in the [QDART installation folder]\Databases directory. You can use any text editor to edit the file. The file organizes path loss information by configuration (CalConfig). Each configuration, defined by a name, organizes station calibration data by path (CalPath). Each path is identified by a number and stores pairings of frequency (in MHz) and loss in positive value (in dB). You can create finer path loss information by adding additional pairs of frequency and loss. 9 Table 3-4 describes each path configuration. 4 5 6 7 10 Table 3-4 Test equipment file field definition CalConfig Description Calpath 4 – Forward link 5 – Reverse link cdma2000/1xEV-DO nonsignaling test and RF calibration CDMA_DIV cdma2000/1xEV-DO nonsignaling test and RF calibration for diversity path 3 – Diversity path WCDMA UMTS/HSDPA nonsignaling test and RF calibration CDMA Released - Internal Use Only Installation and Configuration WCDMA_DIV GSM UMTS RF diversity path calibration GSM Nonsignaling test and RF calibration 4 – Downlink 5 – Uplink 3 – Diversity path 4 – Downlink 5 – Uplink 11 80-VB981-1 A 19 QUALCOMM Proprietary Released - Internal Use Only QUALCOMM Development Acceleration Resource Toolkit (QDART™) 1 Released - Internal Use Only 2 Installation and Configuration After editing the file, the user can validate the file with a web browser.
