Hensler Farms 369 County Road 519, Belvidere, NJ 07823 908-475-0021 www.henslerfarm.com Make it a Day in the Country This part of Warren County is easily accessible from both Route 78 & Route 80. Follow this tour when coming off Route 80. Do it in reverse if coming off Route 78. Take Exit 4 off Route 80 and make a left at the end of the ramp. Just a few miles down is the Historic town of Hope. You will find numerous antique shops. Hope was founded by the Moravians in 1769 by the same group founded the Moravian community in Bethlehem Pennsylvania. Listed on the State and National Registers of Historic Places, this town features beautifully restored Victorian and Historic Homes. Each year on the first weekend of December Hope holds the Annual Christmas Craft Market. Continue down CR 519 South to Four Sisters Winery – celebrating over 25 years of New Jersey winemaking. Plan a visit back throughout the year for one of their Barefoot Grape Stomping Parties or a Murder Mystery Dinners. From the winery, Hensler Farms is a nice 5 minute ride. From Hensler’s continue just one mile South on CR 519 to Mackey’s Orchard. You could say many have a “sweet spot” for Mackey’s - serving ice cream spring, summer and fall; growing delicious apples and then turning them into home made pies, apple cider donuts and cider in their bakery. Head slightly down the road to Gro-Rite for some colorful poinsettias. Gro-Rite has two locations in New Jersey. Their Belvidere location is the main growing location, with 110 acres of land and 200,000 sq. feet of covered greenhouse growing space. Buying direct from the grower! Just a short distance from Gro-Rite stop at Wyckoffs Christmas Tree Farm for your tree. Wyckoff’s is entering their 43rd year of selling Christmas trees. Winners of the NJ Grand Champion Tree award in 2008, 2007, 1999, 1992, 1990 and 1978, you are certain to find the perfect tree. The farm has been in the family since 1839, passing from generation to generation. Currently owned by John and Sue Wyckoff along with Judy Wyckoff Morris. The current John Wyckoff is the 6th generation to farm the land and his two sons, John and Bill along with their families help on the farm, especially during the Christmas season. Son, John, lives on the property and his children are now the 8th generation to be raised on the farm. For years families have made cutting a tree a tradition at Wyckoff’s. Many even have tailgate parties on the farm. Start a family tradition this year and come out to the beautiful countryside of Warren County. Wyckoff’s Christmas Tree Farm 249 County Road 519, Belvidere, NJ 07823 908-475-4508 www.wyckoffs.com From Wyckoff’s continue south of CR 519. By now you are hungry and looking for a bite to eat. A few suggestions – the Red Wolf Inn in White Township, Bellisimo’s in Stewartsville, or Charlie Browns in Alpha. Continue on CR 519 – over the river and through the woods – for an enjoyable ride to the southwest most corner of Warren County. Where CR 519 makes a sharp left, divert onto CR627, Warren Glen Road. You will want to stop at Chelsea Forge Antiques. From there continue west on CR627 to Villa Milagro Vineyards (www.VillaMilagroVineyards). At #33, go up the farm lane overlooking the Delaware River to enter Villa Milagro's vineyard where organic and sustainable practices produce ten varieties of French and Italian grapes. Open for wine tastings Saturdays and Sundays and for sales daily, Villa Milagro blends their wines to create delicious, European style wines. Relax on their porch to enjoy panoramic views of four counties in two states. Wine is always a welcome gift or give a Cooking Classes, Wine Tasting Classes or private tour and tasting at the Vineyard. Supported in part by a grant from New Jersey Department of State, Division of Travel and Tourism. A Note About Real Trees vs Artificial Trees Not only is a real tree more “green” but buying a real tree also supports the local economy. Think about it – to produce a tree made of plastic or metal consumes energy and creates pollution. A real tree produces oxygen. Keep in mind a Christmas tree is specifically planted to be harvested. And for every tree cut, two are planted by real tree growers. They are recyclable, renewable and biodegradable. Some artificial trees are made from pvc and can put lead dust into your home’s air. Real trees are lead free! Artificial trees are made in China, Korea or Taiwan. This year, why not commit to buying a tree grown in the USA!
