rcrHAErsM E G' L cr) o L o- CL II e r- a L I G' o ? o a - Application 2014-15 School Year NACOM Scholarship Application Guidelines NACOM Corporation, part of the Yazaki Corporation of Japan, was established in 1994 as a manufacturer of electronic components for the North American automotive industry. NACOM is proud to award'2 scholarships of $1000.00 each to one graduating senior from Griffin High School and Spalding High Schoolwho has demonstrated a true spirit of continuous improvement in academic studies, community service and extracurricular activities. Eligibility Requirements Applicant must be a graduating high school senior with a minimum 3.0 grade point average and planning to enroll in the fall after graduation at an accredited two- or fouryear college, university, or technical institution. Application Process Applicant must complete the application in its entirety. Photographs should not be attached. Please include the following with your application: 1. An official copy of your high school transcript. 2. A minimum of two (2) letters of recommendation (at least one academic and one community service recommendation). Letters must be written by an adult who is at least 21 years old and not a relative. Letters should include the writer's signature, printed name, address, telephone number, and title. Completed applications should be submitted to your Senior Counselor by MARCH 20, 2o15. lncomplete applications will not be considered. Selection Process Each application will be judged by an independent scholarship committee. The committee reserves the right of final decision. The scholarship selection is weighted 2Oo/o on academics and 80% on community service, charitable work, and volunteering. Winners will be announced at each high school's Honors Day program. Scholarship Payments Scholarship funds will be applied toward tuition, fees, books, supplies, and/or equipment required for courses at the educational institution. All scholarship funds will be disbursed directly to the college by the Griffin-Spalding County School System. lt is the responsibility of the winner of each scholarship to contact the Finance Director of the school system to direct the funds to the appropriate institution.
