Fragrance
®
Fragrances are made of both natural and synthetic oils. Gold Canyon uses only the highest quality blend
of both these oils in creating the finest fragrances. Gold Canyon’s fragrance quality can be attributed to
the number of notes found in the fragrance. Notes are a group of specific aromas that create a fragrance.
High-quality fragrances always incorporate three important and distinct note characteristics and because
Gold Canyon maintains the highest standards, it only uses superior fragrances in its products. The
following information breaks down what each note represents in a fragrance.
Top Notes
Top notes provide the first burst of fragrance one initially experiences when smelling a candle. The
molecules in this layer move rapidly, making the fragrance volatile and quick to dissipate.
Middle Notes
This layer holds the heart of the fragrance.
Bottom Notes
As the heartiest of all, the bottom notes compose the aroma that lingers even after the candle has been
extinguished. The molecules in this note move slowly, deterring the fragrance from dissipating quickly.

®
Gold Canyon uses different waxes based on the needs of our different candle lines. We use both food-grade
paraffin wax as well as natural vegetable wax. The wax used in each candle line will be specified throughout this
manual.
Food-Grade Paraffin Wax
Used in the majority of Gold Canyon’s candle products, paraffin comes from companies that manufacture foodgrade paraffin as a primary product and from refineries as a byproduct. Both resources provide varying degrees
of quality. Our paraffin wax does not contain genetically modified (GM or GMO) material.
Palm Wax
Palm wax is a natural wax that does not contain any genetically modified materials (GMO). The palm wax is
manufactured from sustainable ingredients. The supplier is a member of RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable
Palm Oil) and aims to meet the principles of Sustainable Development while meeting the company’s goal to
ensure that the needs of future generations will not be affected.

Plant Based Soy Wax Blend
Plant based soy wax blend is made from renewable resources, is specifically formulated for high fragranced
candles and has a creamy opaque finish. Our plant based soy wax does not contain genetically modified (GM or

Do soy candles burn cleaner than paraffin candles?
As reported in the Ökometric Wax and Emissions Study, an internationally funded study on candle emissions
performed in 2007 has confirmed that well-made candles of all major wax types exhibit the same clean burning
behavior. In carrying out the tests, reference candles made from paraffin, soy wax, stearin, palm wax and
beeswax were burned in a specialized testing chamber.
Again, the study found all of the waxes burned cleanly and safely, with no appreciable differences in burning
behavior. Their combustion byproducts were virtually identical in composition and quantity, with all emission
levels registering far below the most restrictive of any applicable indoor-air standards.

Do soy wax candles burn at a hotter temperature than a paraffin wax blend candle?
Some soy candles do require a higher temperature to melt and may result in a hotter wax pool while burning.
Gold Canyon’s plant-based soy wax blend does not require a higher temperature in order to melt and fragrance a
room. When formulating, Gold Canyon went to great efforts to ensure a safe and quality burning candle for you
and your family.
There is so much buzz about soy wax candles. What makes a soy wax candle better than a paraffin wax
candle?
All types of candle waxes perform well and will burn cleanly and safely when they are of high quality and when
formulated to specifically pass ASTM International Standards. Gold Canyon manufactures and formulates our
blends of waxes based on their suitability for our formulations. We offer a variety of wax blends, including paraffin,
soy and vegetable.
Any of these types of wax are wonderful choices for candles. None are considered more environmentally friendly
than the other, as there has never been scientific evidence that any of these specific waxes are harmful to your
health in any way at all. It is a personal choice of which type of wax blend you prefer. At Gold Canyon we ensure
that regardless of the wax type used, the formulations will result in a clean burning, long-lasting, safe and fragrant
experience for you.
Is it true that soy wax candles will go rancid? Why would Gold Canyon offer a product that performs this
way?
100% soy wax candles and products can have the disposition for going rancid after some time. However, our
plant based soy wax is a proprietary BLEND, which means it is not 100% soy. The careful formulation was
created to ensure a quality burn, strong fragrance throw and long-term stability.

A new, internationally funded study on candle emissions has confirmed that well-made candles of all
major wax types exhibit the same clean burning behavior and pose no discernible risks to human health
or indoor air quality.
The independent laboratory tests, conducted at the Bayreuth Institute of Environmental Research in
Germany (Ökometric GmbH) and completed in late 2007, constitute the most extensive and rigorous
scientific investigation of candle emissions to date.
In carrying out the tests, reference candles made from paraffin, soy wax, stearin, palm wax and beeswax
were burned in a specialized testing chamber.
Emission gases were analyzed for more than 30 chemicals known or suspected of toxicity, health risks or
respiratory irritation at elevated concentrations.
Targeted chemical groups included dioxins and furans, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, short-chain
aldehydes, and volatile organic compounds. Recorded emission levels were then compared to any known
relevant indoor-air standards.
The study found all of the waxes burned cleanly and safely, with no appreciable differences in burning
behavior. Their combustion byproducts were virtually identical in composition and quantity, with all
emission levels registering far below the most restrictive of any applicable indoor-air standards.
A similar but less extensive study of paraffin, stearin and beeswax candles was conducted by the
Bayreuth Institute in 1994.
By comparison, the 2007 study added soy and palm to the candle waxes tested, and expanded the target
analytes to include an extensive number of volatile organic compounds as well as the polycyclic aromatic
hydrocarbons, dioxins/furans and short-chain aldehydes investigated in 1994. No significant differences in
candle emission behavior could be detected between the 1994 and 2007 investigations.
A global consortium of industry groups and companies sponsored the Ökometric study. Funding was
provided by the Association of European Candle Manufactures (AECM); the Asociación Latino Americano
de Fabricantes de Velas (ALAFAVE); Cartill, Incorporated; the European Wax Federation (EWF); the
National Candle Association (NCA); and the National Petrochemical & Refiners Association (NPRA).
Sasol Wax GmbH and The International Group, Inc. contributed through the preparation and certification
of the testing samples and provision of project management personnel.

Significance of Study
The 2007 Ökometric study has greatly expanded the body of credible scientific data on candle emissions
and burning behavior. In addition to demonstrating that the combustion byproducts of all major candle
waxes are virtually identical in composition and quantity, the study reconfirms the lack of health or airquality concerns with candles. A formal paper on the Ökometric study will be submitted to a peerreviewed journal for publication.

Wicks

wicks in all the candles it produces. Gold Canyon uses both zinc core and cotton wicks that are made in
the USA with a safety collar on select sizes that extinguish automatically at the appropriate level. For

Re: Lead Core Candle Wicks
Dear Dr. Bonta,
On behalf of our client, the National Candle Association (NCA), I am writing to provide you with what I
hope is useful information in light of the recent University of Michigan preliminary study regarding
potential health hazards associated with lead core candlewicks.
The NCA led the majority of the candle industry into a voluntary commitment to discontinue the use of
lead core wicks as early as 1974. Only very limited domestic production of lead core wicks continued
thereafter. To our knowledge, no lead core candlewicks are currently being produced in the United
States. We can specifically inform you that the largest candlewick manufacturer in the United States,
Atkins & Pearce (an NCA member and also our client), does not manufacture lead core wicks. The bulk of
the wicks manufactured by Atkins & Pearce (more than 80 percent) are cotton or paper core, and less
than 20 percent have zinc cores.
For certain candle applications, a zinc core wick is necessary and appropriate. Zinc core wicks pose no
known health risk when burned properly. A recent analysis of zinc core wicks that we have prepared in
conjunction with an environmental toxicologist demonstrated that a pure lead core wick contains 50,000
times more lead than a zinc core wick, which contains merely trace amounts of lead as a naturally
occurring contaminant. Stated another way, a consumer would have to burn 50,000 candles with zinc
core wicks in order to match the lead content of a single candle with a lead core wick. (See Risk

indicated by the University of Michigan preliminary study, certain candles manufactured abroad,
particularly from Asia, still include lead core wicks. Because of the potential health hazards associated
with lead core wicks, the NCA would support a statutory ban on the sale of lead core wicked candles,
similar to that which was in place in California from 1974 to 1985. Of course, we would not want such a
ban to include zinc core wicks.

CANDLES WITH ZINC CORE WICKS ARE NOT A HEALTH HAZARD

Summary
The purpose of this risk assessment is to estimate the number of candles with zinc core wicks that a
person would have to burn daily in order to exceed the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
National Ambient Air Quality Standard (the EPA air quality standard) for lead. Even using a sense of
extremely conservative assumptions, a person would have to burn for four hours daily over 3000 candles
with zinc core wicks to exceed the EPA air quality standard for lead. Using data from the preliminary
study recently conducted by Dr Jerome Nriagu at the University of Michigan, and adjusting for the lead
concentration of the wick, it is estimated that a person would have to burn over 7500 candles with zinc
core wicks to exceed the EPA air quality standard for lead.
Introduction
The most recent data from the largest U.S. candlewick manufacturer indicates that zinc core wicks
contain merely trace amounts of lead as a naturally occurring contaminant. The purpose of this risk
assessment is to estimate the average daily exposure to lead from burning candles with zinc core wicks.
The EPA recommends an ambient air standard of 1.5 micrograms (mcg) per cubic meter (m3) of air for a
24-hour day. Since a person typically breathes 20 m3 of air per day, the EPA standard is equivalent to a
daily exposure of 30mcg (1.5mcg/m3x20 m3). Accordingly, if the average daily exposure to lead from
burning candles with zinc core wicks does not exceed 30mcg of lead, then the exposure would be below
the EPA air quality standard for lead.
Amount of lead released from burning candles with a zinc core wick
No actual measurements exist for the amount of lead released from burning a candle with a zinc core
wick. However, worst-case estimates may be made by using the existing data and by making several
conservative assumptions.
The largest U.S. candlewick manufacturer tested zinc core wicks for lead content, and they contain 22
parts per million (ppm) of lead. A four-inch piece of zinc core wick weighs 0.0762 grams (g), or 76.2
milligrams (mg). It is unlikely that the average consumer burns four inches of wick during a typical
candle-burning event. A candle-burning event is defined as the average length of time a candle is burned
per day by an average consumer of candles. Using the conservative assumption that one inch of wick is
burned during the candle-burning event, and then the maximum amount of lead that could be released
into the air may be calculated as follows:
If four-inch piece of wick weighs 76.2 mg, then a one-inch piece of wick weighs 18.2 mg. If the
concentration of lead in the wick is 23 ppm, then a one-inch piece of wick would contain 0.38 mcg of lead
(18,200 mcg x 0.000022 ppm). Thus, the total amount of lead contained in a one-inch piece of wick is
below the EPA air quality standard for lead of 30mcg/day. Indeed, even if a person ingested daily a oneinch piece of zinc core wick the exposure to lead would be about 80 times less than the EPA air quality
standard. Obviously, consumers of candles do not ingest wicks, they burn them. Therefore, the mere
relevant question is how much lead would a person be exposed to burning a candle with a zinc core wick.
Estimated exposure to lead from burning a candle with a zinc core wick
To estimate the amount of exposure to lead from burning a zinc core candle, it is assumed that all the
lead in a one-inch piece of wick (0.38 mcg of lead) is released into the air over a period of 4 hours of
candle burning. This is an overly conservative assumption since some percentage of the lead in the wick
would undoubtedly drop into the wax. However, for purposes of this risk assessment, it is assumed that
all of the lead is released into the air and none of the lead drops into the wax.

It is also assumed that all of the lead is suspended in the air for a 4-hour period. This is another overly
conservative assumption since a significant portion of the lead would settle out of the air over a 4-hour
period.
It is assumed that the lead is distributed throughout the volume of air in a small room. If all of the lead in
a one-inch piece of wick were released into the air in the first minute of burning (a physical impossibility),
the room air concentration could be calculated by dividing the volume of air in the room by the amount of
lead released from the wick. If the room is assumed to have a volume of approximately 60 cubic meters
(m3), about the volume of a room 16 feet by 16 feet by 8 feet. Thus, if a total of 0.38mcg of lead were
released instantly into a volume of 60 m3 of air, the room air concentration would be 0.006 mcg/m3. If a
person inhales 0.83 m3 of air per hour, then the amount of lead inhaled in one hour would be 0.005 mcg
(0.006mcg/m3 x 0.83 m3). In 4 hours, a person could inhale 0.02 mcg of lead (0.005mcg/hour x 4 hours).
This conservative estimate is 1500 times below the EPA air quality standard for lead. Even using this
overly conservative estimate, a person would have to burn daily over 1500 candles with zinc core wicks to
exceed the EPA ambient air quality standard.
This estimate is extremely conservative since it is assumed that all of the lead in a one-inch piece of wick
is instantly released into the air during candle burning and that none of the lead settles out of air. And it
also assumes that the room air exchange rate is 0.5 air changes per hour. This means that half the air in
a room is replaced by outside air in an hour. It would mean that the concentration of lead in the air in the
room would drop by about 50% every hour. Therefore, a more realistic estimate is that a person would
have to burn daily over 3000 candles with zinc core wicks to exceed the EPA air quality standard for lead.
This conservative estimate still assumes that all of the lead in a one-inch piece of wick is released
instantaneously.
Comparison to University of Michigan estimates
It is possible to compare the results of the present risk assessment with the preliminary results of Dr
Jerome Nriagu of the University of Michigan. Dr Nriagu studied a variety of lead-containing wicks,
including wicks presumed to be lead core wicks. A wick containing 100% lead would contain 50,000
times more lead that a zinc core wick containing 22 ppm of lead. Dr Nriagu’s exposure estimate may be
adjusted by dividing his results by a factor of 50,000 – the difference in the lead concentration between
lead and zinc core wicks. Using Dr Nriagu’s highest estimated air concentration of 65.3 mcg/m3 of lead
and dividing by 50,000 yields an estimated air concentration of 0.0013 mcg/m3 of lead. This figure is
about four times lower than the conservative estimate in the risk assessment described above. Using Dr
Nriagu’s methodology to estimate the room air concentration of lead and assuming a person breathes this
0.83 m3 of air containing 0.0013 mcg/m3 of lead for four hours daily, the daily exposure from a single
candle with a zinc core wick would be 0.004 mcg/day of lead. Using this estimate, a person would have
to burn daily over 7500 candles with zinc core wicks to exceed the EPA air quality standard for lead.

As you may know, Congress approved the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 (CPSIA),
and the President signed it into law this past August. CPSIA is the most far-reaching consumer protection
law enacted in decades. By expanding both federal and state government enforcement power and
imposing new restrictions on manufacturers, importers, distributors and retailers, CPSIA has created a
long list of new obligations and risks for any business involved in the sale of consumer products.
The most pressing of the new requirements for the candle industry is with regard to the lead-cored wick
ban. The 2008 Act expands the general certification requirements to all products subject to CPSA bans
as well as standards, or to any “similar rule, ban, standard, or regulation under any other Act enforced by
the Commission”. There is currently a ban on lead-cored wicks, requiring the candle industry to certify that
all candles are in compliance with this ban.
This letter serves as certification that all wicks sold by us, your wick supplier, far exceed the standards for
lead content as set forth by the CPSA in guideline “16 CFR 1500.17 (a)(13) which sets the lead content
limit for zinc core wicks to 0.06% lead by weight.

The lead by weight percentage in the wicks used by Gold Canyon is significantly lower than the
CPSC Standard; ranging from 0.0016% to 0.004% lead by weight.

Care Instructions
•
Read the bottom label of the candles. The instructions are placed there as a precaution for burning
candles. Please educate each customer with burning and candle care instructions.
•
Please always remember a lit candle is fire. Trim wicks to 1/4 inch. When candle wicks are too long,
the candle creates excessive smoke, turning the jar black. Also, the long wicks may create too much
heat on the glass without wax, potentially causing the glass to shatter.
•
Discontinue burning when 1/2 inch of wax remains at the bottom of the jar. (Gold Canyon has
factored this 1/2 inch of wax into our burn time calculations and candle volume measurements.)
Burning the candle below 1/2 inch can cause excessive heat on the glass, potentially causing the
glass to shatter.
•
Black jars can be caused by a number of reasons. For example, untrimmed wicks can turn the jars
black. Burning a candle in a draft or near or below a fan can cause the candle to burn unevenly and
create black soot on the jar.
•
Educate customers on using a wick dipper, rather than blowing out or smothering the flame with the
lid. Show them how using a wick dipper extinguishes the flame without residual smoke and coats the
wick with enough wax, making it easier to light the next time.
•
Encourage customers to protect the surfaces of tabletops and shelves with candle holders. Not only
do the holders protect the surface underneath the candle, but they also add a certain ambience.
•
Set a good example; never pick up candles by the lid. The best way to pick up a candle is to place
one hand around the neck of the jar, while the other hand supports the bottom of the jar.
•
Never burn candles unattended. Keep out of reach of children and pets.

Cleaning Instructions
•
Glass cleaner and paper towels can be used to wipe off soot and smudges.
•
If the waxy part of your candle has gotten dirty, wipe down with a slightly damp cloth or paper towel.

1. To use, cut a small u-shape opening in top of bag and pull out the string.
2. Cut off the bottom seam of bag to create an opening.
3. Turn the Auto Freshener to back side. Holding the seam upward in one hand, cut three one-inch slits
on the seam, cutting slightly into the bag.
4. Using both hands, gently pull the seam of a one-inch section apart to create a strip. Pull the strip in an
even line as it is peeled around the Auto Freshener.
5. As more fragrance is needed, repeat above step to expose more of the Auto Freshener.

What makes Gold Canyon Diffusers so unique?
Fragrance, quality and value - the core of what Gold Canyon represents, now in a Diffuser. Our Diffusers
offer highly concentrated fragrances that can be enjoyed from three to five months! The quality of
fragrance is enhanced with patent-pending sticks that provide a clean, strong fragrance throw and
consume the concentrated fragrance oil down to the last drop.
Will the strength of the fragrance remain the same during the entire three- to five-month period?
Once the sticks have reached optimum absorption, between 24-48 hours, you can rest assured knowing
that all Gold Canyon fragrances will remain strong until the last drop of fragrance is used.
Can I control the strength of the fragrance throw?
The best way to control the amount of fragrance experienced is to adjust the number of sticks being used
in the decorative glass bottle. Each Diffuser is tested using 12 sticks, which will perform at Gold Canyon’s
standards for fragrance strength. If the fragrance is too strong, adjust the fragrance by eliminating sticks
until the ideal fragrance is experienced.
Why would my Diffuser use up the fragrance quicker than the 3-5 months advertised?
There are many environmental factors that will contribute to the duration of the fragrance experience.
Excessive drafts, high temperatures and very dry or humid conditions are all potential factors as well as
the number of times the sticks are flipped. In a stable room environment, the Diffusers have been tested
to last 3-5 months.
Can I use the Diffuser fragrance oil in other products?
The fragrance oil must only be used in accordance with the directions on the label. It is not suitable for
using on any heat source, including the Pod Warmers and must not be added to any type of candle or
®
Scent Pod .

How often should I flip my Diffuser sticks?
It is not necessary to flip the sticks in order to maintain a strong fragrance throw. However, it is an
optional feature. The Diffuser sticks can be flipped as much or as little as desired. Please note, the more
the sticks are flipped, the quicker the use rate may be.
My sticks are becoming discolored, is this normal?
Yes, this is a normal feature of the Diffusers. Yellow or amber colored spots on the sticks may occur as a
result of the type of concentrated fragrance oil being absorbed.
Why are there only a few fragrances offered in the Diffusers?
®
Gold Canyon is proud to offer only “The World’s Finest” products and products aren’t released to market
without meeting this high standard of quality. Because of this, only the best performing fragrances are
currently offered in Diffusers. But don’t worry, Gold Canyon is always developing and testing more
fragrances that may be offered in the future!
The catalog image did not show a ribbon on the bottle or appliqués, why did I receive these?

Burning a votive without the glass is not recommended for safety reasons. A votive glass has not been

getting it out of the glass. What is the recommended way to remove it?
Put the holder in the freezer for two to three hours. The wax should easily pop out once the wax is frozen.
If it doesn’t, gently use a butter knife or flathead screwdriver to loosen the wax from the glass. Any
residue can then be removed with Wax Remover.

FAQ
In humid climates, will the ScentMate Pad get musty or mildew?
When the ScentMate Pads are kept with the desiccant included in the packaging until they are used and
when only Gold Canyon Home Fragrance Oil is used as directed, the pads won’t get musty or mildewed
regardless of the environment.
Is it possible that the ScentMate Pads could get musty if directions are not followed?
Yes. Here are some ways the ScentMate Pads could get musty if directions are not followed.
1. The ScentMate Pads are taken out of packaging and allowed to sit around in humid environment for
more than one month.
2. After Home Fragrance Oil is added to the pad, the pad would have to sit around for over six months
to one year with little to no use to get musty. The Home Fragrance Oil will naturally keep mold at bay.

If the ScentMate is used in the car, what temperatures can it withstand before becoming damaged,
(i.e. the plastic melting)?
The ScentMate unit itself can withstand temperatures up to 170°F. However, batteries would not be able
to withstand excessive temperatures for long periods of time. Because Gold Canyon is not providing the
batteries, we don’t have data regarding temperature conditions. Aside from batteries and the unit itself,
performance quality could be a potential issue. The Home Fragrance Oil has the potential of volatilizing
too quickly once temperatures exceed standard room temperatures (70-80°F) which means the life of the
product would last much less than advertised.
Generally speaking, this product is not recommended for use in automobiles. Instead, we have a nice
selection of fragrances available in the Auto Fresheners which are made specifically for conditions in the
car.
When using the ScentMate, how do I know when it is time to replace the batteries?
Two things will become noticeable as battery life is used. The light on the front of the ScentMate will
begin to dim and the fan will start to slow. It is important to note that once the fan begins slowing, the
amount of fragrance dispersed into the air decreases. Eventually, the ScentMate light will go out. This is
the cue to refresh batteries. Once new batteries are added, the light will illuminate again and the fan
speed will increase ensuring optimal performance.
When turning the ScentMate unit on, there is a loud humming noise. How can this be eliminated?
Sometimes when assembling the ScentMate unit after adding the pad and Home Fragrance Oil, there
may be a humming noise. This is the result of not putting the unit together correctly. To repair this, gently
tap the assembled unit on a surface to get all the pieces to fall together correctly. If this doesn’t work,
reassemble the unit by following the directions included with the ScentMate; Push to open the ScentMate
Pad container. Gently lift unit and remove plastic guard. Ensure the pad is placed flat into the container.
Replace the plastic guard, close the unit and place on a flat surface.

1. Place the Gold Canyon Scent Pod Warmer on a flat, heat-resistant surface where it is out of reach of
children and it will not be knocked over or moved during operation.
2. If you have a magnetic Scent Pod Warmer, place the MagnaCharm™ on the front side of the Pod
Warmer across from the electrical cord. You will feel the magnetic tug on the MagnaCharm™.
3. Remove the lid from your Gold Canyon Scent Pod and place the Scent Pod on heating surface of
your Gold Canyon Scent Pod Warmer.
4. Plug the Gold Canyon Scent Pod Warmer into an electric socket.
5. To turn on the warmer, press the power/timer switch on the power cord. A red light will indicate the
warmer is on.
6. To activate the automatic shutoff feature press the power/timer switch once more for four hours, twice
more for 8 hours and three more times for 12 hours. A green light will indicate the automatic shutoff is
activated and for how long. (On older models the on/off switch and the automatic timer switch are two
separate buttons.)
7. Scent Pods will liquefy in approximately one hour.
8. For optimal fragrance dispersion, please use Scent Pods in 4-hour increments.
9. Scent Pods have been designed for 20 hours of Gold Canyon quality fragrance dispersion. Fragrance

Iced yuzu [YOO-zoo] is a citrus fruit originating from East Asia. It is believed to be a
hybrid of sour mandarin and Ichang papeda (which has characteristics of lemon-scented
foliage and flowers, also native to East Asia). The fruit looks like a very small grapefruit
with an uneven skin, and can be either yellow or green depending on the degree of
ripeness.
Feijoa [fay-JOH-ah] is also known as Pineapple Guava or Guavasteen, grown on an
evergreen shrub originating from the highlands of southern Brazil, parts of Colombia,
Uruguay and northern Argentina.
White Malabar petals are the spectacular petals of large, creamy white flowers from a
lush tropical evergreen that grows on the coast in a region of India called Malabar.
White neem leaves are large semi-evergreen trees native to Burma, India and Pakistan
whose seeds yield aromatic oil.
White sandalwood is the fragrant wood of trees found in Nepal, southern India, Sri
Lanka, Hawaii, the South Pacific islands and Australia and is known to retain its aroma
for centuries.
Golden amber is a full bodied, aromatic resin with warm and powdery notes that drip
from trees and become fossilized over time.

Are EMERGE products hypo-allergenic?
Hypo-allergenic means that the product is less likely to produce an allergic reaction. EMERGE
products have not been tested specifically for this claim, however all of the products are
formulated to be mild and gentle. If a customer does have a skin sensitivity, encourage them to
try the product on a small patch of skin prior to using.
What should I do if I have an adverse reaction to the product?
For all leave-on products including bath soak, body mist, hand scrub and hand silk, , gently, but
thoroughly, wash the product off with mild soap and water by hand. Pat dry. If you experience

EMERGE products have been tested to sustain a shelf life of 1 year from the date of

Sampling Procedures
Creating an experience with EMERGE at your Parties is key to your success. Part of creating that
experience is providing your customers with a safe and sanitary sampling environment. Every
time somebody handles a product, it could become contaminated. Micro-organisms could be
transferred to the product from counter tops, fixtures and other items in the party environment.
Washing and sanitizing your hands and environment prior to demonstrating product and during
the demonstration should be done. In a clean environment, customers can rest assured that the
experience will be an enjoyable and sanitary one.
When providing product for customers to test, always use spatulas or dispensing cups (both are
available as supply items). Each product requires a specific sampling procedure, provided for
your reference in the individual EMERGE product listings.

• To preserve hygiene, do not wash and reuse the cup.
Touch Practice:
1/ Stir thoroughly to mix. Over sink, scoop a quarter size amount of scrub into hands and
vigorously work into joints. Know that the salts and minerals are restoring vital energy.
• Minerals absorbed through the skin balance the electrolytes in the body helping prevent
depletion.
2/ Rinse with warm water, stroking out toward the fingertips to release stress.
• Stroking out toward the fingertips unblocks and allows positive energy to flow.
3/ With dry hands, cup palms over face, fingertips on forehead. Breathe deeply and slowly five
times to take in the renewing fragrance.
• Breathing deeply reinforces the calming touch and breathing in the fragrance on the hands

1/ Squeeze a pearl-sized dollop into hands and massage into base of cuticles with small circular
motions.

2/ Activate the stress release point in center of palm using thumb to lightly make small clockwise
circles. Repeat this motion as needed.

cotton swab with isopropyl alcohol and let air dry.

1/ After bath or shower, lightly pat dry, leaving skin slightly moist. Apply mist to the entire body
