2006 Lotus Elise 2zz Engine & C64 Transmission. Only
17k Miles!
I have a buddy with an MR2 that knows about my Elise project
and mentioned that I should probably post up this thread here as
well:
Selling the 2zz engine out of my 2006 Lotus Elise. It is in great
condition, runs like a top. I just bought the car and will be using a
different engine hence I have this engine, and the Toyota C64
transmission available.
For now I would like to sell the engine complete however if I can't
find a buyer I will then consider parting it out. For now assume it
includes everything, long block, intake manifold, throttle body, all
the sensors, oil pan, alternator, starter, etc. etc. It will NOT
include the ECU, harness or A/C Compressor.
The previous owner never tracked the car (in fact it had Primewell
all seasons on the back rotfl), and as I mentioned it is in nearly
perfect shape. I am including various engine pictures and a picture
of the dash proving the 17k miles. Additionally I am including a
compression check of the engine, which shows all 4 cylinders
cranking over 205-220. Mind you that was even on a battery that
was nearly dead, and completely cold. So it is definately
healthy
Hard to gauge the exact value of these engines. But my research
says around $1600 is fair for a reasonably quick sale. Willing to
ship but the buyer will have to pay for the shipping. I am located
in Milwaukee, WI.
I want $800 for the transmission.
So $2400 total and you get a nice low mileage 2zz & C64
transmission. Great for the 3rd gen MR-S guys out there!

Haha nice. My only worry is that there is something wrong with
this engine. The seller seems to have gone through the finer
points and even providing the compression test but you can never
be too sure. After the MWR Corolla debaccle in Washington I really
need a smooth transaction.
Doing my research on the engine now. Anyone familar with this
thing and if it has anything a standard 2zz out of a Celica GTS
does not?

Ahh yea sorry should have at least included the email in my
thread. Feel free to contact me via email at
Whatsadsm@yahoo.com or call/text at 4142150818.
As far as the condition I assure its great. There was nothing wrong
with the engine I am simply removing it in place of a built Honda
K series. I have a video of it running as well, ill post it up after I
get home and am not on my phone.

Paypal is fine, but the buyer would have to pay the fee.

This is a good deal. I paid $2800 shipped for my 05' Elise 2ZZ
with under 12,000 miles. Mine came complete with Alternator,
starter, ACT HD clutch, flywheel and 90 day warranty but no 6
speed. I would jump all over this!
There are some subtle differences with the Celica 2ZZ VS the
Lotus Elise but nothing that would be a desl breaker. Check out
my thread on Spyderweb for further info.

You won’t always find good deals on Lotustalk; some of those
yuppies think their parts are worth their weight in gold. What they
don’t realize is that many of the engine parts they sell can be had
on newcelica for a third of what they’re asking.
(however this engine and trans combo is a good deal)
