A
WORD FROM THE
PRESIDENT
Greetings from New Mexico,
The Land of Enchantment, a land
of plains, plateaus, and mountains,
famous for the great variety and
magnificent colors of its scenery.
The attraction to our area is not
only attributable to the scenic
beauty of New Mexico’s deserts
and mountains, but also by the
rich Native American and Spanish
cultures that distinguish the state.
Just as New Mexico has a deep,
rich culture and history, so does
our company. Established in
1943 as a small supply house
in Gallup, New Mexico, catering
to the Native American craftsman
producing traditional heritage art,
Indian Jewelers Supply Company
(IJS) has grown to four locations,
serving customers worldwide.
As a multi-cultural employee
owned company, we pride
ourselves in the personal
attention we give to our
customers as well as our prompt
mail order service and the line of
quality products that we carry.
Your business is important to us
and we value you as a
customer. We would like you to
know us as, “the go to people you
can grow with”.
We hope that you will enjoy our
latest catalog. Our goal is to reach
out to all of the jewelry industry’s
reseller’s, manufacturers, craftsmen and hobbyists. IJS now manufactures its own brand of diamond
nd saw
blades. These saw blades are made by our company here in the USA: The IJS Diamond Edition, and
nd the more
aggressive IJS Tomahawx Blade. For more information please see the diamond saw blade
section in this catalog.
If you don’t find what you are looking for in this catalog, please inquire as to its
availability. Your inquires are one source available to help us search out old, new
and different items used in the jewelry manufacturing trade.

Straight-shank Stamps
For most normal stamping. Generally, no additional costs apply to straightshank stamps, when size restrictions are followed. Steel stock normally used is
3/8 x 3/8”. It is best to get an estimate where the standard size will be exceeded.
Bent-shank Stamps
For stamping curved surfaces. Certain limitations exist. Generally, these are:
1) Stamp length not to exceed .300” or 7mm.
2) Stamp height not to exceed .120” or 3mm.
3) The stamp face is cut on a radius equal to a size 7 ring. Larger size stamps
may require a rocking (right-to-left) motion to get the full impression.
4) Cost of bent-shank stamps is usually an additional $5.80.

ul Tip!! Using Repoussé Dies
ORIENTATION MARKS are made on the male punch and female
block to remove the doubt associated with symmetrical
designs. Look for the torch cuts/scorings of punch and block.
Misorientation can damage both punch and block.
Feel for the lack of “play” in a properly aligned die set.
ALIGNMENT MARKS help keep the punch aligned with the
block, when an opaque sheet of metal is between punch and
block. They are perpendicular (90°) lines scratched on the block
and the punch. These lines must also be made on the
sheet to be shaped, and dressed on the block lines. Be sure the
punch matches both orientation and alignment marks before
hammering.
BEGIN HAMMERING slowly and lightly to get a proper start,
then increase force of blows to achieve full repoussé.

Truly unique tools. A piece of silver or gold shot is placed in one of the 8
depressions and struck in, receiving the pattern. Prelubricating the shot plate
generally helps the shot to release. Consider using a flat-faced drift punch on
top of the shot ball while striking.

p! Using Repoussé Punch Sets
1. Place female or concave part in desired position on metal
sheet, then make the desired impression.
2. Clamp female firmly in vise and snap metal sheet back on
punch face.
3. Align the male according to the faint line left by the female.
Be very careful that the male part is centered precisely.
Hammer lightly until some depth is attained and alignment
is perfect. Proceed striking the male until maximum relief is
achieved.

TERMS and CONDITIONS

10% Restocking Fees
HOLD-FOR-PAYMENT orders held for over 15 calendar days will be charged a 10% restocking fee. Any shipping charges incurred will still be payable. No further shipments will be made until these charges are paid in full. U.P.S. and the Postal Service hold packages for a VERY limited time. We can re-ship packages
on your request, and you will be liable for the additional shipping charges. The restock charge also applies to returns made for reasons other than I.J.S. errors
or faulty goods. UNCLAIMED C.O.D.’s returned to I.J.S. will be charged the 10% restocking fee when the items are returned to stock. We would rather not need
to restock and levy the fee.
Shortage - Damage - Mis-shipment Claims
Discuss damages with the carrier (U.P.S., Postal Service, etc.) as soon as possible. Please inspect the package thoroughly and report any damage before you
sign for it. To establish a claim on goods improperly shipped or damaged, you must notify I.J.S. within 10 days after receipt of the goods. After 10 days, notifications will be treated as normal returns. Shortage claims must be made within ten business days after receipt of shipment.
Returns
Returns must be accompanied by a copy of the relevant invoice and a brief explanatory note. For returns made 30 calendar days after merchandise receipt,
invoice and note must be included, and 10% restocking fees will be levied. Returned merchandise received by I.J.S. with insufficient written information may
be refused and shipped back to
you. Send returns to Indian Jewelers Supply, 601 E. Coal Avenue, Gallup, NM 87301. For your protection, ship all returns prepaid and insured. We will refund
your return postage when appropriate.
Liability
Indian Jewelers Supply Company disclaims any responsibility for damage or personal injury resulting from products being used improperly or
from being repaired or modified by others or from abuse or use beyond normal product life expectancy.
Specifications of the goods listed will be maintained wherever possible, but we reserve the right to make changes when necessary. Errors and
omissions excepted.

2) Current charges listed on your statement are due the 10th day of the month following purchase.
3) If payment is received on or before the 25th day of the month following purchase, no finance charge will be imposed.

will incur a $25.00 service charge. If two or more checks are returned unpaid, we will no longer accept checks from that person. Future orders will be sent on
“C.O.D., Cash-only” basis.
